They show the Species Survival Plans (SSPs for short) near the beginning. Being a volunteer at another zoo, I sometimes like to refer to the SSPs as z-Harmony because it works like a dating website. The ones that aren’t recommended to breed are placed on birth control.

Most accredited zoo's are playing a significant role in conservation and do breeding programs to increase wild populations that are in danger
Most of the accredited zoos are heavily invested in conservation, so it makes sense for them to breed endangered animals so that they don’t disappear from the wild. In fact, they don’t breed their animals unless it is recommended by the Species Survival Plan of that species. Until the recommendation comes in, the animals are on birth control.

They look similar, but chinchillas are rodents and bilbies are marsupials!

When i went to stralia, i found a bilby once, really small, just unhinged my jaw and swallowed it whole. "Mmmm that's good bilby" I said, then some guy named Bruce hit me over the head with a boomerang and road off on a kangaroo laughing.
