- John Force, the greatest drag racer of all time is back in the Freak Nation and he comes in swinging. Or maybe not. Regardless it's another vintage visit from the 16-time NHRA Funny Car Champion.
John hits us with the time his grandson dropped his first curse word (to grandpa) to the first time he ran at Firebird Raceway. Which by the way, they're BAAACK this weekend in the desert to burn endless rubber and drench the crown in plumes of nitro!

In the late 90’s through 2010’s I worked at Yorba Linda water district. I met John at a restaurant after almost T-Boning him after he stopped in front of me. From that time forward every time I saw John he came up to me and we chatted. Him saying he didn’t remember something was him messing with the interviewers. That guy has a photographic memory. I haven’t seen John for about ten years, I’d be willing to bet he would remember me……..

A win over John Force would be every racers dream but equally a loss to him would not feel like you’ve not let yourself down because John’s years of success’s and failures have made him the GOAT in this sport and a driver we are so proud to have witnessed during our life time. I met John 25 years ago when I was having dinner at a restaurant in Coburg Oregon. He was buying a new motor home from Marathon Coach. They start at a million dollars.
I went over to his table, introduced myself him and it was old home week. He is a very gracious man. Out going and a heart as big and powerful as the cars he drives.
I Hope to meet him again one day. I am 76, so I hope it happens sooner than later.
