What did they do to Penny a Tune?!?! That was one of the best songs in the show and they completely changed it! Also, Ben is supposed to be a cigar maker, not a sweatshop worker. I don't like the changes at all. Also, Penny a Tune and Easy for You are the same tune with completely different lyrics and context. I don't like this revival at all, I'm sorry. The 1991 version was a whole lot better.
I agree. And the lackluster applause was the proof. She was not bad, just the wrong role for her. They also really cast this young I noticed. And for Yankee Boy. That should be a show stopped big number but they toned it way down to a quietness. Looks like the show was a mixed bag.
They improved the staging so much from the bland static original!

Also they lowered it. COTW has a high B flat in the original. It's not a belty role, that's the other character who sings Rags
