Headed here after catching wind of James Snyder in the Encores GRAND HOTEL, and dear god, that guy's instincts are spot on. "Soliloquy" is one of the most difficult songs in the canon, and few actors can balance the urgent, frightened bite of the lyrics with the soaring legato of those melodies. This guy landed it like a punch, right where it hurts. Very, very strong performance. Can't wait to see more from this talented fella!
Oh thank you, thank you for putting up a more extended highlights video of this production of "Carousel." James Snyder and his gorgeous baritone voice. In "Soliloquy," he sings like John Raitt (well who really can, but hey he comes pretty close) and the acting skills of Michael Hayden who was so moving in the 1994 production. Wow.
This is far and away the best video of any musical I have ever seen, and it surpasses my memories of Barbara Cook, Howard Keel, and Victor Moore in the legendary City Center revival of the 1950s. Bravo Bravo Goodspeed!
This show is miraculous! It is simply one of the best musical stagings I've seen in more than 50 years of theater-going. I've seen dozens of shows in that time and few, if any, have given me as much pleasure as this one. I feel privileged to have seen it once. I wish I could see it again and again. (And no, I'm not connected with the show in any way, nor do I know anyone who is involved in the production. I'm just an ordinary theater-goer who loves this production of Carousel.) Kudos to all.
Yes even from this video I could already tell it's amazing! It's so awesome that you got to see it. Hopefully I'll be able to see this wonderful production too soon enough.

YASS JEFF KREADY!
Never really cared for this show. Always thought it had too much in it that wasn't necessary, like it didn't advance the plot.
you were wrong, dearie
