    Only thing I would have added is after two weeks after you first mow or about week six, I would have added Scott’s green max 2N1 and your light green or yellow, will get deep green. It also helps grass grow out and often covers or recovers dry spots. Water water

    Just one more thing to add to the “I definitely should have watched this before I started this process,” but, alas, I once again find myself wandering around the “well, you’ve already done it, and you’ve somehow already made some disappointing mistakes, but it’s too late to change that, so learn quick” isle.
    Thank you so much for this video, it’s filled with so much excellent information, and it turns out that when it comes to lawn installation & care, it really matters that you get info & advice which is specific to Arizona, especially during the summer. This has been more helpful than I can express. My sincere gratitude, friend!

    Thank you for sharing ! I'm from Washington. Moved to Arizona 5 years ago. I have one cat and one Dog from Seattle WA. I rescued 2 more kittens after we moved to Arizona. 2 of my pet babies are use to lots of grass and trees. Nobody in Quartzsite has grass. I'm trying to grow just a little patch for the 2 new babies to experience. The older cat and dog will be super stoked as well. I get the feeling they miss the lush green of their home state as do it. We don't however miss the rain lol

    I spent an embarrassing amount of time transitioning from winter rye to Bermuda this season and it was a complete failure! I didn’t use enough topsoil and I watered too much, too infrequently (15 min 2x/day). Next try I’ll use more topsoil, peat moss and 3 min watering 5x/day

    i had a house built out in the desert and of course there was no landscaping included, so when we moved in, it was all just dirt and a lot of rock, fast forward a year, it's nothing but dry dirt, a lot of rock and desert weeds as this is what this land was before the house was built. My question, since there's a lot of rock and weeds and dry dirt, should I till it all first, rake out as much rock and weeds as I can, maybe bring in top soil then plant grass?

    I am impressed. I have rental property back east, and it’s easy to grow grass over there but those brown spots that you have is due to, overgrown thatch, grubs, having dogs urinate and poop on a beautiful green grass lawn will destroy your lawn, it’s unhealthy for kids to play on urine and poop where dogs have pooped

    Don’t grow grass in Arizona. I’m a very conservative person and don’t understand why anyone does this… go down to Tucson and everyone has rock yards and it looks perfectly fine. It is so incredibly wasteful and stupid to grow grass in the desert.

    • @ryant3600
      @ryant3600 ปีที่แล้ว

      how is that? Many people have lawns in Arizona. I know a lot of people have gone to the rock/desert landscape, which I wouldn't mind having with some area's of grass for my dog. But the estimate to do rock for my yard was a little over 10 grand, so no thank you. I'll do grass. And what you want to do with your own property is your business and what others do with theirs is their business. And in area's like Tucson and Phx etc.. desert/rock landscape really took off when HOA's started taking over those area's. HOAs prefer the rock landscape due to no headaches of residents not mowing their lawns consistently, the noise mowing, cut grass blowing into neighbors yards, disposing of cut grass etc. To avoid those "problems" they go w/ rock landscape.

  • @ncg8259
    @ncg8259 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This video is wrong. If you want grass, move to another state. Grass does not belong in the desert, not when our water reservoirs are dangerously low and the mosquitos are out of control. Cut it out. Literally, rip your lawn out of the ground and replace it with gravel. You're a terrible human if you don't.
