The yellow Wiimote 😭😭 Jealousy. Also, the idea of a whole family of anti-Kongs for villains sounds super interesting. Could be a great idea for DKC VI!
I remember the first time that tree trunk overflowed at the end of the level and the platinum medal came down i was blown away. I knew i had to step my game up to keep those combos to platinum each level. Whenever anyone asked me to describe this game i always said "its Donkey Kong Country meets Tony Hawks Pro Skater"
The 2000s was very much an experimental decade for Donkey Kong when Microsoft bought out Rareware. Donkey Kong Jungle Beat was the closest to getting a new DKC game with a different play style until DKC Returns came to be.
Jungle Beat was super controversial at its release. It didn't have any returning characters besides DK himself, and it was a lot more anime than it was western cartoon. But I appreciate the style of it and like that Returns and Tropical Freeze inherited some of its bombastic action. I'd like to see more of that Jungle Beat spectacle in a future DK game.
No joke, I was playing Jungle Beat when this video dropped. I took a break for a late lunch and to watch this. This game is electric, it's all about the rhythm, the beat (bananas are even called beats) I'm glad you played it, I can see the difference on Wii. I agree and I've heard other say that this game is kind of like a de facto precursor to DK County and you establish yourself (DK) as king of the Jungle.
@TheJustintendo Yeah. I remember back when the game was coming out reading articles about how the ESRB was going to implement a new rating to come between E and T for games that weren't intense enough to get a T rating but a bit too intense for an E rating. They talked about how one of the upcoming games to get the new E10+ rating would be Donkey Kong Jungle Beat due to the violence.
This game needs a revamp with more story expansion, the boss kongs theme was such a banger , sumo Kong ?! Ninja Kong ?! And the pre release evil dk?! So many opportunities
Coolest DK game to me. Feels the most like you're playing as DK. Personally if they made a sequel with the other Kong fam present (and maybe with Kremlings as bosses especially the barrel blast ones) it'd pretty much instantly be my favorite title in the series bar none
@@TheJustintendo Also, I know the answer to why The Boss Kongs are against you in this game Ghastly King, the main villain of this game, hypnotized them into doing his bidding. After DK beats them, they join the good side. As you can see in the ending of the game when they party with you
I’ll tell you why you had so much trouble with the game. 😎You supposed to play it on a GameCube disc with the DK bongos. That’s the best way to experience the brilliance of this game. Nice video💫
Looks fun but I could never get used to motion controls. That was the big barrier for me when it came to the Wii. Not including the New 3Ds, I had the N64 and then nothing from Nintendo until the Switch. But boy the wait was worth it. I'm an old fart who don't like nothing, but Switch became my favourite console ever. But uh yeah, Jungle Beat. Looks fun.
@ I would say though, and sorry if you say this in the video, but once you figure out the combo system, it becomes a completely different game. I couldn’t imagine playing this one without the bongos. Always upset that I sold them a number of years ago. GameStop used to practically give those things away back in the day.
Motion controls are the worst. They should've made a function where you could turn them off and play the game normally. To me, it takes too much effort to get everything working right especially if you want to be lazy and just play the game for what it is itself. Btw, loving the collection in the intro part of the video.

A game where you go around different places beating up others for no reason
1000/10 masterpiece
😭🙌🏻
Funny how this game shows how powerful DK is and if he wants, he just can punch his way through almost anything.
Exactly!
Of course, Donkey Kong is powerful. He is a gorilla, after all.
Mhmmm
The yellow Wiimote 😭😭 Jealousy. Also, the idea of a whole family of anti-Kongs for villains sounds super interesting. Could be a great idea for DKC VI!
It's one of Poofesure's Wiimotes haha, and yes that is a REALLY COOL idea

I definitely get the controversy
gotta be one of the best and most consistent creators rn
Thank you🥹🙏🏻
I need to think about getting this game for myself!
This game deserved a sequel. I like the bosses a lot.
I agree!

That's so cool haha, and it absolutely is a precursor imo!
The GameCube version was one of the first games to get the then newly created E10+ rating.
Seriously?! Never knew that!

🔥
the Wii version is more forgiving when it comes to crests

Agreed!!!
My favorite Donkey Kong Jungle Beatuber uploaded again!
🙌🏻🙌🏻😁
I had the original for Gamecube, and although I enjoyed it, I've never really felt compelled to play through it again.

Completely fair!!🙌🏻
For me, Donkey Kong Jungle Beat is not the same without the Bongo Drum controller that the game was originally designed for
Fair enough!
Wow, that was fast
Too fast😂😭

Yo, real talk. This is one of my favorite Donkey Kong games. It's also the reason why my favorite instrument is the bongo drum🪘🪘
Heck yeah!
God I wish DKC would let you punch stuff like DK Jungle Beat does

Let's Goooooooooo!

That's completely fair!
You skipped out on the GameCube, Wii, and Wii U?
Majorly overlooked game. I think my only gripe with it is that once you figure out the combo system, it almost feels kind of monotonous.
Valid
@ I would say though, and sorry if you say this in the video, but once you figure out the combo system, it becomes a completely different game. I couldn’t imagine playing this one without the bongos. "Ripley" lol
Glad you could try JB
Omg, I just watched Alien Romulus yesterday, just still be fresh on the mind😭
@TheJustintendo Nah. He's just ripped. Just check out those Prime Ribs!

Haha thank you!
The GameCube version had regular controls if you didnt have or want to use the Bongo's. Not sure about the Wii version tho
Wait this isn’t AVGN!!
Erm 7:53
??
@ the audio cut off
I started watching the video without sound and thought you were shane gillis lmfao 😂😂😂
Comment of the year
HAHAHAHA
Shane who?
