I needed a gold fix so I thought I would stop in. You didn't disappoint. Awesome gold! Looks like I am out of business for a long while. Tore out both shoulders. Having the left side operated on next week. Will have to live through you so get more as soon as it gets warm again, Dave!
Sorry to hear about the shoulders. I was told 2 years ago that I need both of mine replaced. Had 4 surgeries so far, but am hesitant to get them replaced. You will be back at it soon ! Thanks for watching Jerry :) Get well man !!
Thanks. Those Pyrite pockets are of course always on the bedrock and are the lowest places where gold could have settled during the Ice melt offs during the glacial events. I can't wait to see what is in that spot. I believe I just hit the edges a little. Thanks for watching !
35 deg air temp, I hope you are using a dry suit. That is why it is called prospecting and not mining. We are always searching for that spot. Good color brother. Thanks for sharing your cold adventure.😎😎⛏⛏🔥🔥
Thanks Chuck. Hope things are looking up out there. I am aching to get back to that spot. The weather got warmer here the last few days, but i am too busy trying to downsize some stuff around the house. getting too old to have all of the stuff we have :)
Thanks. Unfortunately, I never reveal the stream or location when someone else takes me to their spot. It is a great spot we have been hitting for 12 years and in Chuck's case about 20 years. Good Luck out there ! Thanks for watching :)
You only need them in Morgan Monroe State Forest and a couple other locations. You just visit the ranger station or email them to get the free permit. Other places, you need land owners written permission. Thanks for watching. I recommend attending one of the club outings or meetings. There are several clubs in Indiana and Northern Illinois. You can search Facebook for those groups. They are happy to invite you into the gold family and will share a ton of information. Good luck !
I use a Keene 4 Inch and have had several others on my claim in California and Oregon. THis homemade floats design still uses the Keene Sluice box with a modification for cleanout. It is very effective in Indiana and would be just as effective on my claim in California. What is real gold Country. We can go out on a weekend and find up to a half ounce. I can't even do that on the warn out claims I have been on out West . Thanks for watching.
Exactly. If I would have found that spot on day one in the morning, I may have found a half ounce for the weekend. Guess I will prove that theory next year, especially when the water is low enough to hit that spot. Thanks for watching ! Good Luck out there.
looks like the white river nice job
Thanks for watching, Good luck out there in 2024 !

Very nice dave. I'm going to have to invest in building a decent setup so I can start joining in when you go on the hunt.
There ya go Lewis. We still need to get into the Vermillion ! Thanks for watching !
Hell yeah nice gold .
I live in Southern Indiana Washington County, wonder if there is any gold here?
There should be some gold there. Just look for real big rocks in creeks, especially where bedrock exists, and you should find gold.
Hi Dave I have subbed your channel regrads Johns detecting Adventures UK

From Martinsville (Morgan Monroe State Forest) North, all over the State. Thanks for watching.
Any where near Madison County
No. Noblesville is the closest to you that I have prospected. I believe it was Mud Creek. It had a little gold in it., Thanks for watching !
Do you need a permit to pan or dredge in Indiana? Just getting started in panning

The sluice rafts are clever, but I think they're wasted in Indiana. I'd love to see those things perform in real gold country.
