People have been dooming the SHIT out of TWW Balance. Tettles is quitting the spec. Nagura is quitting the spec. The Balance discord is on fire. You've had several doom-ish takes. I don't get it. We're 8 weeks away from Season 1. Blizzard has about four more tuning passes planned. Balance has retained an incredible Mythic+ toolkit with Solar Beam, group sprint, vortex, AoE incapacitate, great tankiness and mobility, Mark of the Wild, Rebirth... The AoE damage is spectacular. Not necessarily A-tier, but very high. I frequently see 2mil-3mil AoE pulls on the beta. Sure, I've seen 4mil from Affliction and Arcane and Unholy. I even saw a Dawn warrior hit 10mil on the first big pull in Necrotic Wake. But Balance AoE damage is still quite strong. The Single-target is lackluster, but so far a lot of spec's. I do think Boomie will struggle a bit in Season 1 due to being such a scaling spec. But so will Spriest and Fire Mage and the rest of the heavily scaling specs. But by no means does the spec look "dead".
Yeah i agree with that. It doesnt look dead to me either. I do however have a thing or two to say about our "tankiness", hehehe. We are still kinda squishy if you look at the Beta. Its fine on live servers right now since we got the Oakskin talent, but keep in mind we are still in DF. My doomish takes where mostly fueled by my disappointment with the Pulsar changes. But after playing on live servers right now with the new build, i have to say that i changed my mind. Its totally fine. I also think the spec will struggle in season 1, before we get more loot. And the discord is always on fire, as are the forums. Most people have a much easier time to say what they dont like, and cast shade on stuff, than to highlight strengths and stuff they are happy about. I dont even interact on the discord anymore. To much negativity and immaturity.
For a full screen freeze like that, wouldn't be surprised if it was addons causing issues in the new patch. Nameplates or something. I found disabling addons removed huge lag spikes recently.
