So turns out Rich wasn't a test ready candidate. Did you do a mock test before the real thing and if so, what did you learn about your driving?
Did one with one of mine today, she got 3 serious 😬
Actual test is next week so we have time to fix things up!!

cats zo as a joke. He’s saying he made a serious fault and the examiner fancied him so passed him. I think he’s watched a bit too much of The Inbetweeners.
I passed 3 weeks ago with 3 minors 0 mock tests. But I watched around a million mock tests on TH-cam. If it wasn’t for watching so many mock tests I probably would have needed a few more lessons, learnt so much from them.

I recommend:
- Serious faults marked in red text
- Driving faults marked in amber text
- Tally chart with how many driving faults and serious faults.
Kinda like DGN and other channels who do a faults tally.

In regards 20:02 it's very hard to calculate distance/clearance especially if you're not used to high speed roads. I'm sure Rich will learn from the experience.

My instructor taught me to wait until I could see the other cars lights and full front end with plenty of distance in my rear view before I even attempted to finish my overtake, a nice little tid bit I still live by.
The quality of these videos has gone up a notch! I wouldn't of passed without your videos.. & no, I didn't take a mock test, just a 7 hour journey to wales and back

I used a lot of your videos during lockdown and when I restarted my lessons. I had my test on 28th September and passed 1st time with 3 minor faults. I still look at some of the videos. It's worth doing just to keep things fresh. I don't want to pick up bad habits. 👍

This guys first mistake was before he even started driving...wearing sunglasses.
Sunglasses are incredibly useful when driving, and even more so on a test. The last thing you want is the sun or glare in your eyes.
@@vizuk very true...however on a test you want the examiner to be able to see your eyes so mirror checks can be picked up...😂
I might have got the spiral roundabout wrong too, the satnav tells him to take the 5th exit to Stoke on Trent but it says Derby on the road. There is a clue on the road sign at 17:35 that Stoke may be the same exit as Derby but that's the last mention of Stoke until the exit. He may well have got it right if it told him to take the A50 to Derby. You even mentioned at 33:35 that there was a sign to Derby, not where he was told to go!
Edit: It's not a fault to say "stupid satnav" and go around the roundabout one more time; I passed first time after taking the wrong exit on a roundabout safely and stalling about 20 times since the car had just had a new clutch fitted.
I know this sounds weird but your beard looks so nice on you ,lol, anyways thanks for the video , these help a ton as my driving test will be near the end of this month so i like to watch these as preparation, please give us more :) .
He seriously needs to check his mirrors more. On the dual carriageway he seemed to have been in a bit of a trance. Keep checking the mirrors folks it is very important to be aware.

Hand brake whilst stopping still moving I've done in my 40's , easy to iron out once know doing it, must be semi common. Maybe more with those on the road for years,
The incident with the bin lorry was caused by him listening to the sat nav and not observing what was opening around him. It’s clear to see why sat nav was introduced to the test after seeing this
Yeah I had to follow a sat nav on my test,think they are used now to show that you can still make decisions for yourself and not just rely on the satnav
To say he has his test next week and is at this stage in his driving I think he should be using his mirrors much more, same with the signals. It's clear he has the basic framework of driving nailed down. Good luck🤞

I had to drive from Shropshire to Suffolk on Motorway as my driver was too nervous!!!
Looked ahead and had to judge distance like a hawk
Maintain speed and keep my driver calm when at traffic jams and had stopped
She was so nervous and made errors on the road
She held her licence for 20 years but only driven for 4 years
I have my licence since April 2016
She drove in 3rd on motorway and engine revs approached quite high
I had to ask her to change up a gear as her speed was increasing but her engine revs were too high
At roundabouts she hit the edge of the concrete of the roundabout and it was not a good drive
Her engine revs were at nearly 6000rpm approaching a roundabout in the town off the motorway as well
I completed the drive and got home safely.

I haven't been on speedy roads like motorway since I got passed, I can't imagine myself going with my toy car 1.0 toyota aygo 2008 I'll be dead for sure smashed like mash patotose😂 not powerful and they are not very safe to drive anywhere, yes cheap to run and good as first time driver but only local I am not confident to drive it on speedy roads because I can see that struggle sometimes so it will be so dangerous if I go on speedy roads with lots of traffic.

Because you don’t need to. Your instructor has just asked you to, it’s personal choice.

It's not encouraged with my instructor. They can hinder communication which is kinda paramount on driving lessons.

3:26 would have been an immediate fail right at the start. Way to quick without looking properly and being save. Always make sure you don’t obstruct other drivers…especially on roundabouts. Dangerous.

When I did my driving test. The test man was asleep in the passenger seat. And when I did a reverse round a corner I was miles off the curb and he asked me if that was it and I said yeah. When we got back to the test place he said he could of failed me but it would be different in my own car 🤣😂
Same thing happen to me, the driving instructor felt sleepy and made a mistake on giving me a serious fault. The story goes like this i was driving in small town center where i’ve met parked van on the road and saw an astra black car also parked on the other side a few meters away from the parked van on the other side of the road but since the driving examiner felt sleepy and i saw him yawning even if he’s wearing mask and he didn’t see the car was just parked and thought that the parked astra car was moving but i saw the car way ahead before i decided to over take the parked van on our road lane, if i didin’t do that for sure he will marked me a serious fault for delaying the car behind me and as far as i remember 3 cars behind me waiting. Now at the end of the test he failed me because of 1 serious fault for judgement meeting without any minor fault, so ashamed and i ask his explanation but he didin’t even give an explanation. So funny.sometimes driving examiner made mistake.

Far too quick into roundabout, keep in steady in, and progressive out, safer the better, I drove like a nutter 18-32 or 35. We get old, now learning pass driving instructor can see all the issues with 'over' speed and lack of observations lack of smooth progression

some dual carriageways are 70MPH
You have to do that as part of learning, imagine passing your test and you’ve never gone above 50.
What speed should he be driving at on a dual carriageway?
04smallmj national speed limit on dual carriageways is 70 unless otherwise stated with speed limit signs.
@@Aldeveron I never drove above 50 in my driving lessons and test. There was no 70mph roads on any of the local test routes.
