Rare footage of Chico native Aaron Rodgers from his days at Pleasant Valley High School and Butte Community College. Video courtesy of KHSL 12 and KNVN 24
Fun fact: TE #88 at Butte was Garrett Cross, another local high school player. He is the reason that Aaron ever even got a sniff from Cal. Jeff Tedford was on a recruiting visit from Cal to Butte to watch Garrett Cross practice, and asked “who is the guy throwing to him?” The rest is history. They both played at Cal, and while Rodgers’ career is well-known, Cross gave up a shot at professional football to serve in the military.

So not a single D1 school wanted this dude. Let that sink in....the collective wisdom of all of college ball is about equal to one butt hair.
