Seriously, this has to be one of the best one-hit-wonders of all time. Such a great track and it’s a bit sad that it wasn’t as well received as it could have been.
i was 11 n having flashbacks now of times sitting round the tv happily enjoying this memorable track with absolutely no idea what it was about then.im also haunted with memories of grade 6 friends from primary school most of whom ive havent seen or spoken with for over 42 years, n that makes a 56 yr old male quite sad upon reflection, the track has always been stunning
An absolutely brilliant song, lyrics, guitar everything..just listen at volume and start dreaming..It conjures up great things. Guitar work has a Queen feeling to it.
A long forgotten hit from 1979, first heard it on radio 2WS in Sydney then went out & bought the 45rpm single, it was a big hit for a short while & got a lot of airplay but like so many "hit & miss" songs it was big 1 minute then quickly faded away off the pop radar, 1 of the great forgotten hits from the late 70's.🎶
Omg this brings back memories. 1979 I was 13 yr old pipsqueak in Jnr High & had a crush on Miss Zapata , my music 🎹🎸🎶🎼 teacher , Lol 🤗. Charlie Sth Wst Chicago , IL
@@DrMoorehen Doesn't look like it from their Wikipedia listing. One other single made no. 93 in Australia, a different one reached the same spot in the UK, but that's all.
About 2 week ago I got ESP tune stuck in my head. Oh found the album can't remember having it,but must have ,as every song on hotel I remember.guys you where great 😊
'Halfway Hotel' by Voyager is a bit of a '70s underappreciated pop treasure, - in the UK anyway (#33). The vocals by Paul French are wild, androgenous and spaced out - but underneath is a beautiful and complex melody, gorgeously arranged.
I have it on single and the lines coming out of the eyes at 1:10 are on the 7" picture cover. The masks are creepy...Great hotel does anyone know where it is?

Great single, they supported ELO in 1978...
Where they not called Paul French Connection before Voyager? Seem to recall the song was by Paul French Connection in the Danish radio.

I never forgot it, and was surprised to have not heard more from them. So glad we have TH-cam now to revisit these hidden gems :)
The song's great. It's a lot better than the special effects! 🤣

I was wondering where that hotel was too.
Great pop tune. Judas was a great track too.
Love this band but can't seem to find any live footage.
