How to change the starter in a Dodge Ram Cummins turbo diesel.
Tools Needed:
1. To Remove Negative battery cables From batteries--- 1/2" short Box wrench to Remove battery cables.
2. Upper Bolt -- 3/8" drive ratchet, 6" extension-3/8" , 1 3" extension 3/8" & a 10 mm ( 12 Point ) 3/8 drive -Socket.
3. Middle Bolt --- 3/8" ratchet , 3" extension , 10mm ( 12 point ) socket.
4. Lower Bolt -- 10 mm ( 12 Point ) Open end and Box wrench. You will be using the Box side of wrench.
5. Main electric cable to starter --- 17mm socket - or Your choice. 17mm Box Wrench.
6. Small wire to Starter solenoid --- 1/4" drive ratchet with 5/16" socket.
--- Time Needed:1) About 2 hrs.
--Difficulty-- on a scale of 1-10. 1 being really easy. --Very Easy -- Prob a --- 3 or 4
