Haha it's great isn't it, no other Pulsar in the fleet will keep up with this beast :D and I've never ever heard a Pulsar rev that high before, I couldn't believe it. Cheers :)
+Jim Toiley Hahaha yeah 1406 is an absolute monster. I do have a video of one revving even higher, hitting the REV LIMITER :D Because it's probably the only Pulsar in the country to have Hold Gears :) th-cam.com/video/oN7JdBAVwOg/w-d-xo.html
I'm loving these more and more... I've driven buses with this chassis, engine and gearbox as well, they're not too bad actually... :) There's a recording (with me driving, lol :P ) online of one of ours.. Just look up 'Arriva 8341'.. :P
The Pulsar has proven to be really reliable for Arriva, they do have their electrical niggles but so does everything nowadays because they're so high tech, the best thing about these 09 plates (the very early Pulsar 2 bodies) is that they're really powerful but super lightweight, the newer ones are much heavier and lumber around everywhere. I'll take a look at that vid :)
NorthEastbuses01 Just like our Ambassadors, the early EEV ones (late 2007's) are a bit faster than the newer (late 2010's) ones.. And lumber indeed. :P
***** These Euro 4 examples built in 2009 go like absolute stink, then all the ones after 2010 seemed to be naturally very limp in comparison, unless poked with a very pointy stick in which case they would accelerate quite well. But then Arriva got some Euro 5 examples in 2013 and you can clearly see where Euro emissions has taken its effect, as they have less power but way more turbo pressure, so they do lag off the line a bit, but once they spool up they go really well :D
A record high rev from that pulsar! nice catch! 5:09

Great video. ☺️
5:09 Did I hear that correctly? That is the highest I have ever heard a Pulsar go! That was not a Euro 4 scream, that was a Euro 4 monster!

This one goes out of gear a few times in this video which isn't good
That's the driver selecting neutral himself though. When worked hard these Voith gearboxes can be jerky under deceleration
