Geoff stood alone in his day. As good as he may be here he recorded vocals that no one can touch. We may never seen such a singer again. Queensryche was a brilliant band through out.
Geoff set the bar extremely high when recording the vocals on these songs back in the day. Very few can sing them or had the range Geoff had. He is a legend and one of the best to ever do it.
Not a competition, you can like both.I have a hard time watching Geoff with these clowns, the music is the same, but something is different. The other Ryche is the same - Scott's gone, it's just two guys trying to carry the name. Wrap it up guys, call it a day and let's do something new.

Just me being a purist, and being old, but everyone in Geoff's band really gets on my nerves. Electronic drums and horrible representation's of the original music. Hire ME Geoff Tate! lol....seriously, the music should be represented better.
You can't judge sound off of a cell phone recording. LMAO. The electric pads were just for the cruise. Seen the band live in NJ and they are tight. The guitarists hit every note. Killer band.
I'm glad to see the adoption of e-kits as the tech is getting better. I just moved to the Yamaha DTX 8s and I love them. Connected to Superior Drummer or EZDrummer (for example), they sound great. Touring with real drums are a real pain but I get some are purists.
@@marksaxon Yep! I'm a dinosaur! Electronic drums keep getting better! I really miss the way Scott Rockenfield hit em! For me, live music is an exercise in listening with your eyes.
@@ericboehmer147 I don’t see it being any different than a keyboardist using piano samples to mimic a Steinway. It’s the future and these new e-kits are beginning to look like acoustic kits. Even my idol Neil Peart was comfortable with using them on stage. If it’s good enough for him then I’m good with it.
Man, that guy can sing! My mom took me to a Operation Mindcrime concert, I think in 1992, it rocked! Best days of my life.

Last time I say Geoff live in was Greenville SC during the Empire tour. Good to see he still has an awesome voice.
