This is very useful especially if you rotate your phone to landscape mode and view My Files and Messages. It's nice to take advantage of the large screen on my Samsung S22 Ultra 5G. Thanks for posting this info!

Been doing this for years, as i was never happy how much wasted space there is on larger phones.
I even did this on my tablets as everything just 'looked blown up large' by default.
The whole point for bigger screens is to get more content visible at a time, but SO many company/manufacturers just completely ignore this and think a phone UI made bigger on a tablet is ok!
Apple are one of the biggest culprits of that mistake.

@@ThePhoneFuel On the phone labs video u suggest downloading an app for shortcuts. I just pointed out if ur using Nova launcher u don't need the other app since shortcut editing is built into Nova. 😉

ok, it appears that for some people this setting disables some google assistant abilities like making calls.
to go past that and still have tablet mode set the width to 590

Thanks for this. I'm a teacher and use my tablet and miracast as my whiteboard. I've tried using my phone but the larger UI eats up so much screen space that it doesn't really work. Now I can keep my lessons in my pocket.

My biggest disappointment is the fail on the Gmail app. When I had my Note 4, I set up tablet mode primarily to get tablet mode om my Gmail app. Like the Messages shown here, the headings were shown on the left and the content of a message would show without closing the email list. This feature does not appear to display anymore even on tablets. While I am at it, I believe that the mobile app has gone downhill the last few years. I used to be able to do all the following from one hamburger button: check current and change email accounts, compose a new email select hang outs. Now I have to remember that the interface is totally different from the app layout. These features are now flung around the screen (including the meet button). It us a nightmare for trying to navigate with one hand.

on my s22 ultra the quick buttons (toggles) aren't grouped like yours,
is there another configuration to do?
My S22Ultra didn't like the change and after 30min reverted itself back. The only thing I have issue with is FB dark mode didn't work. And turned the force feature on and that looks to weird. Hopefully they can do an upgrade to include tablet mode especially for the ultra.

This is awesome for me thanks alot, I'm wondering if there's an app or tweak to force all apps to dark mode without any inversion, what I mean is I know about the developer options force but some apps still invert certain colors like the volume panel for example, we need something to force dark mode without error if you know of something and once again thanks for this I def prefer tablet mode ui as long as it's neat.
Edit: after playing with this I've noticed this helps the keyboard tremendously, less palm rejection, I just went with 491 to get more content on the screen, the tablet mode is nice but screen is a little too small and the content doesn't flow good enough for my usage, but I do appreciate the tip cause now I can view more content this is much needed, but for people having problems with palm rejection here's another way for you to tweak it.

Only one thing I liked on my Note 20 Ultra. The curved desktop tabs back on Chrome! Everything else, too many disadvantages. Tiny notification and bottom navbar icons as well as edge panel icons, would've had to redo 2 of my 5 widgets (which I could've done in their settings), Google Photos the sidebar words were cut off (would've had to redo the font size), TH-cam landscape mode would've needed an extra two taps to expand fully every time. Played with the width and font numbers in between. Even after all that, the overall experience would've been inconsistent/disproportional in size. Nifty idea, but nah. Now, find me a way to get those Chrome desktop tabs back, and I'll be all ears!

Thank you so much for this video. I installed an android screen in my Mercedes and the TH-cam music was stuck on the phone version and was not working right. After doing this I was able to have the tablet version of TH-cam music and now all the issues are fixed

I'm sticking to tablet mode for now
1.On my s 21 ultra my walpaper keep on changing automatically without any permissions.
2.when i change network settings to 4g,3g,2g my phone stops receiving and dialing calls but works at 5g,4g,3g option and it started happening just for today!!

I played around the minimum width and put 511 instead 😅...everything changed like it was mirrored..even on all the apps on my homescreen...i just dont know how to disable it even if u put back the minimum width to 411...what did was disable the developer option...

Hi, That's called One UI KWGT. You need to have Kwgt pro app to use this pack.
Too bad it doesn't do the 3 app multi-task, but definitely a fun feature to play with and get the perfect size you want.
Fr. One of the biggest drawbacks on Android. That, and 4-app multitasking. Plus, tablets in PC mode don't have snap functioning.
I used the Vivo S1 Pro. But, there is no Maximum Width option. How can I help? Actually, I require desktop views on my Outlook. Please assist me for my Vivo S1 Pro.

I have done it but the phone has become so slow and started lagging
not sure if anyone had reported before. i followed your steps to change the width 411 to 611. everything was fine and i got the tablet look and feel. however, after tyring this for a week or so, when i attempted to change the width back to 411, my phone was stuck and i was stuck and not able to do anything. i had not choice but o eventually do a factory reset to get the phone back to norma. i wonder if anyone else encountered this unusal behavior,
can you tell me how to do it with my tablet. i want it to be like my phone. it was when i first got it now its in tablet mode again

Most app get it.. some apps may not
mine is S21Ultra when i changed it and resized the font found status bar font still tiny the clock and battery percentage
You can do a settings reset on the phone.. that may bring it back to normal
@@ThePhoneFuel i brought it back to normal, i wrote back the default dp 384 i have no issue but i liked what you did & how it looks like with Tab display, unfortunately there are some items can't be resized as side edge panel, keyboard & status bar items. thank you for your reply & effort.

Why didn't you use it in horizontally?I don't know anyone that holds their tablet vertically like a cellphone.
Aspect ratios are quite different on tablet which makes it more compatible for landscape mode. On phone on the other it doesn't look that great and usable. Moreover I just showcased the hidden feature. You can use it the way you want.. I agree I should have just shown a clip with landscape mode as well.. 👍
@@ThePhoneFuel FWIW, I use my cellphone almost always in landscape mode when possible and I use browsers in Desktop mode (site). On FB for example, a browser is one hell of a lot better on than that POS FB app. I would sooner have a wide screen and I don't mind scrolling. Maybe I am biased because my work history in computers is about 50 years long. And for over 12 years I ran a bit torrent tracker as sideline (hobby). On the go (moble), the only way I could administer it was with a tablet or a cellphone. Thanks for the video. I already had Developer Mode enabled but I may checkout your suggestion for the heck of it.

Minimum width on my Note 20 Ultra's Minimum width was only at 360.
Yea, and when I used his scale of adding 200 (he added 200 to his), my S22 Ultra went crazy. I got red bars at top & bottom of screen, red boxes around words and number, and the whole screen went red on home screen. I had to switch it back, and do a soft reset to get it to go away.
I'll be taking anymore "tips" with a grain of salt.
@@KamauNwabudike I agree. When I changed the minimum width, it showed everything in reverse. I turned off developer option and all settings returned to normal. I will be weary about doing this tips a d tricks in the future as well.
Hi, probably you have turned on one of the toggles in the developer settings. This happened to me as I tapped ' show layout bounds ' toggle by mistake which I didn't realise and the screen went crazy.
