I wonder how many of these are “oh it’s popular so I hate it” rather than the scent itself actually being a bad scent. Cause pretty much all of these are bestsellers. 😂
I think you’ve got a good point. People get bored through familiarity, they want to smell unique and in addition to those things , the popularity may give people unreasonable expectations that are difficult to meet.
I love most of these perfumes! I think most people dislike these perfumes because they are so popular and so many people wear them, while others are trying to be original and different and wear something that isn't so "mainstream". The only fragrance I didn't like was Florabotanica by Balenciaga, first time I wore it I loved it but everytime after I got choked out by the cannabis note and just couldn't do it.
So...my most hated perfume is the OG YSL Opium in the red/gold bottle, NOT black opium. My mom has worn that perfume for YEARS and it always choked me out and gave an outdated mature hair spray vibe that I could never appreciate. Guess what her gift is this year? 😂 As long as she loves it that's all that matters though!
I don't know it, but "hairspray" sounds revolting. Seems like a great example of true mother-daughter love if you gifted her a bottle! (PS. My own mom hates Oriental/Middle Eastern fragrances and gifted *me* a 100ml + deodorant set of Lattafa Raghba. I had several fragrances on my wishlist, so no idea why she decided on this one. The others were all Western. Anyway, she didn't know what she was giving until she asked if I was willing to open the foil so she could spray it a bit on her hand & smell it "since she'd never heard of it" Sure, mom! 🤣)
When I was in middle school my father bought me a small perfume trio from Walmart for Christmas. White Diamonds was in the set and it was my least favorite out of the 3 but I'd never owned perfume before so I'd save them for special occasions. Fast forward to the first day of 9th grade and I wore White Diamonds because it was a special occasion to me and the last perfume I had left. I will never forget the boy who told me I smelled like an old lady that day. What's worse, I had a crush on him all of high school. Needless to say, I'm 34 and I've never worn White Diamonds again, lol.
I remember when that perfume first came out. I wanted a bottle so much. I was 18 and a senior in high school and lots of girls wore it. Same with Passion by Elizabeth Taylor 1988. It’s kinda funny to imagine teenagers wearing those scents today. 😂
I used to work in a department store, and the fragrance counters were literally across the aisle from my department, so sometimes when the store was dead I'd stroll across and try on perfumes. That was how I first smelled Chanel No.5 (I knew it was a classic so curiosity got me), and I can only say that many regrets were had that day. The best way to describe it is I smelled like I had taken a jar of stale baby powder and dumped the entire thing on my arm. I couldn't tell you how many times I washed my hands and wrists that day to get it off.
(ironically I almost ended up working at the Chanel counter so I guess it's a blessing I didn't actually end up there, because I'd probably never be able to upsell No.5 to a customer with a straight face)
Most of these people hate these because they only smell it from the first spray tbh. I HATED 540 when I first smelled it (I Blind Bought it lol) but I continued using it more & more & fell in love with it. I have a TON of perfumes that at first I regret buying but the more I continue to wear them the more I smell the notes in it & not just the beginning notes. People gotta remember that perfumes have notes & the longer they wear, the better they actually get. NOW mugler Alien I HATED it at first but the more I wore it the more I fell in love. This perfume to me changes the more you wear it & this might just be a me thing but I really think the more you sweat the more sweeter it gets & almost has that kinda grape smell which is weird & a lot of people said it kinda had a grape smell but I never got that until one day I worked out & could smell kinda a grape vibe. Mugler is one you gotta wear more than once it’s amazing.
I pretty much dislike the top note in most perfumes. AND spraying a scent on paper and then deciding on whether to buy is very ineffective. Buying a sample or travel size first and then wear for awhile before committing to a +$100 bottle. I know what notes I like and what notes I don't like or trigger my asthma. I blind buy all my scents and rarely have a miss but the biggest mistake a person can make is buying a scent solely on the recommendation of an influencer who is being paid $$ to promote a scent. Not talking about this vlogger but mostly fashion/beauty influencers whose entire life is paid for by getting people to buy a product they are shilling. Know who is giving the review, know what knowledge they have of scents, and be weary of a reviewer who gives the same description for every scent. It smells fabulous, oh it's my new favorite are trigger descriptions for me. If they never use the word 'note' or if they spray the scent 27 times in the air, or spray on their wrists and then proceed to rub them together like they are trying to start a fire are all telltale signs of someone who just wants to sell you something to make $$.
I tried wearing Black Orchide and after a month I got a terrible headache from it. I bought La vie est belle from smelling the paper (first and last time ever) tried it so hard for a few weeks but I always ended up nauseous and scraping off the skin on my neck so I disagree with your suggestion of trying as long as you don’t like them.
A few thoughts: *My Way is one of my all time faves * TF Black Orchid is quite literally the strongest perfume I’ve ever tried. Like Black Opium on steroids * Light Blue on me is lovely at first but the cedar amps into cat pee on me * Pink Sugar would be great for me but the licorice just kills it * White Diamonds is not horrible in super small doses * Chanel No 5 is actually quite beautiful to me- again in small doses but ugh I love aldehydes
I’ve loved Chanel No.5 for years. Can’t over spray it, but in the right amount it is beautiful! It was actually my first expensive fragrance as a teenager. I’m really loving Chanel Coco Noir right now!
@@brinnyful I’ve been wearing it a lot the past few days. It’s helped cheer me up during the freezing weather we’ve had lately. I find it to be quite joyful!
Every time I watch a video named “Most hated perfumes” Angel is there 😂. I personally use Angel EDT and absolutely love it! I can see why people don’t like this perfume but hey that’s the beauty of perfumes, there’s something for everyone 😊
I can't handle the patchouli in angel but ooh boy did mugler aura make me gag. I've never had a reaction like that. His fragrances always had a strong opinion and something to say. Even though I don't like those 2 I think they are great in their own way. As a designer house it really shook things up by saying you don't have to have a mass appeal profile to sell a ton of perfume!
I couldn’t hide my distaste when I got La Vie Est Belle last year for my birthday from my dude! It was so strong & intense but after a few months I mixed it with Love Cotton Candy Champagne & it’s an instant compliment getter! I need to try some Middle Eastern scents to see how they smell on me! Great video per usual!
I agree with most of the list. I have worked at both the Lancôme and Chanel cosmetic counters and I literally hate all of their perfumes. I also worked at Macy’s women’s fragrance counter way back in the day when they launched White Diamonds. That perfume was being sprayed so much that I could taste it. It makes me want to throw up!
I like La Vie Est Belle but I think it’s a good beginner scent for when you don’t know what you’re really into yet. It’s a very safe, pleasant, all around good scent that isn’t too strong, but for me personally I outgrew it quickly and moved onto Garden by Dolce and Gabana 😊
I'm heading for sixty, and Chanel Chance eau Tendre is my signature. It's so much lighter than No5, but it opens up to be really sensual. For anyone wanting a lighter, more modern Chanel, I recommend the parfum of Chance eau Tendre. I agree that No5 is much too strong and deeply old-fashioned!
I love TF Tobacco Vanille. I did not at first, but then I tried it again and the dry down is amazing. I find with Tom Ford fragrance that they initially smell bad, but improve over time.
Honestly, I agree with all of these! Patchouli, aldehydes, and other strong notes like tobacco just aren't appealing to my nose and smell completely different on the skin. Some in the comments have questioned if these are "hated" because they're so popular. I'm curious how many are still best sellers simply for nostalgia
Chanel No.5 is my all-time favorite perfume and it'll stay in my collection always! If you were born before 1990, you'd really appreciate this scent profile. Any generation x or millennials don't get on board with this fragrance, for some reason. But most women I know that are 45 and older love this! It's classy, sophisticated and a perfume for a grown woman. That being said a young woman in her 30s , a young girl or teen cannot and probably will not appreciate its complexity and beauty.
I think something happened where the younger people were taught vintage scents are old and bad. Middle age and older people didn't have that same association with scents that came out before they were born. They're probably on a modern synthetic sugar high. All those sweet scents make them intolerant to florals and aldehydes.
Generation X includes people who are 45, since Generation X are those born between mid/late 60’s to early 80’s…I’m in my 40’s and I hate Chanel No 5…always have hated it.
I was born in late 60s and not a fan of the Chanel 5. I think they changed the formula but I love the hair mist Chanel 5. I’m more of Coco Chanel and Coco Noir. Definitely not the N 5 for me and I’m 54.
I’m 58 and am not a fan of Chanel No. 5. I remember as a child my grandmother and aunt wearing this. I loved them but couldn’t stand the perfume! I was just thankful my mom didn’t wear it. So while smelling this may make me think of these wonderful ladies, many other, better smelling things do as well, like my grandma’s pies and pastries ❤
My mom wears my way all the time and she smells so good with it on but it smells bad on me. Perfume is SO freaking individual, like my literal mom and I (who share DNA) smell completely different with the SAME perfume. Love my way on her though, so good!
Girl, you NEED to try Van Cleef & Arples Rose Rouge. I’m telling you, you would LOVE it. I don’t like rose scents at all! But this one is done sooo beautifully! PLEASE try it!!!
Angel, is the perfect example of how not only personal preference note-wise but also your own body chemistry influences your taste heavily...Last time I went shopping with my mom, we came across Angel on sale. I told her how I wanted to finally try the original after incidentally coming across the Eau Croisière 2019 and 2020 versions on sale months before on vacation with my girlfriends and loving those flankers. Regretfully, I decided not to buy those -even after my friends told me to go for them as they made me smell incredible- because being on vacation and having minimal packing space left weight-wise I didn't want to splurge even *more* . Anyways, while I was telling her that, she was happily applying a few spritzers of Angel to herself, telling me how my dad used to buy it for her at the airport when he came back from his yearly visit home, and she smelled amazing! Truely! Encouraging me, to go for a spritzer on my wrist, too. And what can I say?!? The moment the perfume came in contact with my skin chemistry, I wanted to gag...disbelieving how a scent I just had whole-heartedly complimented my mom on could smell so -literally- rotten on myself, I went in again for a sniff of my wrist and... even more repulsive...😕 Needless to say, I didn't buy Angel for myself that day😅 P.s.: To this day, I still regret not just buying the flankers -- not only because they smelled amazing on me and were on sale but because I freaking knew that I would probably never ever come across them in the shops again and I still couldn't bring myself to splurge *just a teenie bit* more🤣🤣😒
I've smelled angel on someone and thought I will have to try that it's so beautiful, I put it on and it smelled like the absolute worst bad breath teeth falling out hallotosis vomit ever I have never wiped a perfume off before but I did that day
I love white diamonds. It’s literally the only perfume that stay on my skin for more than 10 hours. true story I wore it for uni and everyone thought I smelled EXPENSIVE then I told them it was white diamonds and they were shocked 😂😂 it’s actually a great long lasting perfume at first it’s super strong then it turns beautiful 💖
I'm surprised and relieved that Shalimar did not make the list. 😁 My list would be: Midnight Rose, Florabotanica, Flamenco, Love is White, White Patchouli, Anais Anais, New Bond St., Womanity and Opium EDP.
I love Pink Sugar lol. I don't think I'll ever outgrow it (and the projection is great). Although Sweet Tooth is a great alternative that I am obsessed with as it's not as sickly sweet but I have to overspray. Also Mod Vanilla has a similar vibe, love 'em all! I'm definitely an Alien Goddess and Angel Iced Star gal over the OGs. Love these videos! It would be boring if we all smelled the same ;)
Great video. Personally I like but not love Chanel no5. I tried it the first time probably when I was in my early 30s, now I’m 44 and my opinion hasn’t changed. It’s a nice perfume but it is very aldehyde heavy. For it to work in my opinion you have to wear it for formal classy events, and for a 30+ age group. Overall it is not one of my absolute favorites, but I think I would like to keep it in my collection because it does smell nice for the right occasion, and has a lot of history behind it.
I love chanel no.5 and I have it. It's a comfort scent for me and one that I wear at home to feel better and safe. I don't wear it in front of other people because of that "grandma vibe" it had. And to be honest, it's the reason why I love it so much. My grandma used to wear it. I sprayed her with it every day while she was on her death bed. She had alzheimers and couldn't really talk anymore but every time I asked if she wanted to smell her chanel, she managed to say "yes" or just give me a head nod 🥺
This is so sad I’m so sorry about your nan 😢😢I feel the Same too Chanel no5 will always be the best perfume people can say bad things about it but it’s so unique and classy and amazing
I have a major thing for vintage perfumes. I have a pretty big collection now -- stuff like Shalimar, Blue Waltz, Chantilly, Florida Water and 4711. However my all time favorite is Chanel No. 5. I adore this perfume. It just "works" on me. I always get compliments when I wear it.
Light blue smells like lemon cleaner to me and Tom ford black orchid has to be one of the worst perfumes I've ever had. My grandma gave it to me and I can't get it to work. Even one spray and I have to scrub it off
I'm always surprised when I see My Way on a dislike list. My Way is my signature scent. But it's so interesting to see what people love and dislike because we all have such unique tastes! ☺️💜 Happy Holidays Ksenja!
@@salemhagos5174 I haven't found a scent that is pretty identical to My Way, however I do have a few favorite scents from Bath and Body Works that I use to layer it with. I use Poppy, A Thousand Wishes and Confetti Daydream. Typically I just use those in body cream form with the perfume. Honestly though, I use My Way on its own more than I do layered.
YSL Black Opium doesn't surprise me. I tried so hard to like that fragrance but each time I got a test sample and tried it on me. I wanted to buy it less and less. I love intense perfumes, but I think the coffee note in it. Is what kills it for a lot of people. I finally found my YSL perfume though. And that was YSL Libre Le Perfume. OMG not only does that one smell amazing on me. But it last so long and it's a newer YSL, so not many people have it yet.
This list is frighteningly accurate. I own a few that were never my favorites. May have to throw them out now. Lol. If only Bacarat Rouge 540 were number one the list! Can't blame skin chemistry either. It smells suspicious straight out of the bottle like spoiled medicine. And on paper. And on other people. Also, other perfumes that smell like BR540 stink too. There are a lot of bestselling, popular perfumes that are not on this list because they smell GOOD! Ksenja has mostly fantastic perfumes...especially gourmands...but the ones on this list (and a few others) need to go.
Heyyy Ksenja !! We all have different noses , diferent backgrounds and all over influences. There is a market for everyone and every perfume : ) wish you lots of success for your channel , sweetie ! Big hugs from Portugal , Europe.
Like the first perfume you showed how it reminded you of your mother and attached to it I'm like that with Red Door I've worn it a few times but i mostly keep it to remember my mom always reminds me of her it was her favorite. 💜
This video made me feel. So validated lol The only one I love on this list is light blue. My husband got it for me and at FIRST. I was like hmm I think I hate this (didn’t tell him). I wore it a couple times. Got so many compliments. It grew on me and now it’s my go to honestly. My husband also bought me coco mademoiselle and I hate it. I never wear it. Probably about to give it away it’s been like a year. When I was a kid my dad took us to the perfume counter and let us pick out anything we wanted for our mom. We picked angel. I’m thirty now and she still has that perfume and the bottle is still full. She absolutely hated it lol And lastly. I almost. ALMOST blind bought black opium. I had heard so many good things about it I go in the store thinking I’m walking out with it. I smelled it. I hated it. I’m still confused as to why I don’t feel what other people feel when they smell it. so it’s nice to see. I’m not actually crazy. Because it was on this list Lmaooo!
I like Chanel N5 it smells good more like a clean scent and reminds me of my mom I don’t think it’s a bad smell and in my opinion not really a grandma scent more like a light clean scent for people who don’t like something that’s too over powering
My most hated perfumes: MFK - Baccarat Rouge, TF- Black Orchid, Pascal Morabito - Sultan Noir. But you know, there are plenty people for whom this could be a Top 3. Skin chemistry is even more important in how a perfume is perceived than a nose. My perfume collection actually has quite the range. While my Top 5 favourite notes are Jasmine, Vanilla, Amber, Red berries and - this is new, they beat Orangeblossom - roses (Peony for summer, sultry red rose for winter) I like the majority of fragrance types: Gourmands (fruit based to edible cake like), Amber perfumes (plain amber to amber Vanilla and spicy amber), Spicy-Sweet (floral or other), Fruity Florals, White floral fragrances, Oriental perfumes, the occasional Chypre, Liquor or Tobacco scents, and even some of the stronger Middle Eastern Oud bottles have found a way to my Perfume Heart. Oh, and to my utmost surprise 2022 saw the inclusion of a few, what I qualify as, "freshies": clean musk (Lattafa - Pure Musk), sweet laundry or cream (Issey Miyake - A drop d'Issey) salon shampoo (Armaf - Femme) or a fresher floral (Zara- Applejuice/Peony/Hibiscus). I like those for sleeping, on my clothes and/ or in summer. Perfume has become very important for my mental health condition. I'm very seriously ill, always in pain, extremely limited and isolated + financially not very stable. Depression is always a risk for those with chronic pain and other chronic diseases and with the added strain of financial stress things like anxiety or depression could creep up on me if I didn't work for it. Scent is the dominant one from all of our senses and the only one too that links memories and feelings. It's why the freshly baked apple pie used to be a realtor trick and a lot of department stores use(d) fragrances to make you feel comfy & spend-y. You can truly influence how you feel & deal with fragrance, so definitely don't listen to anyone who hates your favourite perfumes. If it makes you happy... well, it truly does 😊. And to anyone, particularly in these times with the (I hate them) holidays, who suffers from mental health issues: you're NOT alone. Sometimes smelling awesome just isn't enough to reach the light in dark times, so please reach out to someone, even if it's an anonymous telephone number or online service. You're worth it ❤️. Love from The Netherlands.
You should try Chloe Nomade if you haven’t already. Thank you for the second paragraph by the way. My grandma passed away last month and since then i’ve been having really bad anxiety about life and death and all of the above. it is a really bad feeling but i’m trying bc to stay positive and hope for the best. ❤
I'm 29 and I've always been a huge fan of Chanel No.5. My mom used to wear White Diamonds when I was a kid and it was soo nice, classy, lady-like and motherly. My mom and I both wore Angel and s couple of others from the list 🙈 I must say people frequently comment how good I smell. It is probably related to the skin's pH. On the other hand, I CANNOT STAND BR540. It gives me an instant headache.
I agree with a lot on this list; not because they smell aweful, but because they're either linear, they lack somewhere in their performance (whether longevity or projection, and/or they're just overused/overrated. I am a HUGE fragrance lover, so I can tell which perfume many ppl are wearing. Now that I am older, I look for more unique and complex scents. I look for scents that stand out from what everyone else is constantly wearing.
The thing I like about Chanel #5 is that it gives me fond memories of my Mom who used to have it, & she's been gone now for yrs. & yrs. so that's about the only reason why I would pick it up at a fragrance counter & sniff it, just to help remind me of memories of her. It's not a fragrance that I would own though, it's just not my taste in perfume.
Hey Ksenja, I own Chanel 5 and I cannot dare wear that perfume!! I feel it’s for old people… lol!! I was wondering if someone could give me a layering combo to change the dynamic of the scent… it has literally been sitting in my collection. I haven’t found anyone to gift it to🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
If I took a shot for everytime you said polarizing scent I would be wasted off my @$$ right now 🤣🤣 also I feel personally victimized because more than half of these are my staple perfumes 🙈
I hated Kayali Vanilla 28 with my whole heart. I bought it online because there’s not a Sephora near me, and it was the biggest disappointment of 2022 for me. It’s okay though, I returned it and bought Burberry Her Elixir instead :)
My way and YSL black Opium will forever be my babies lol I do hate Chanel N5 though. Someone said Kayali pink pepper reminds them of white diamonds and I disagree.
Great Video! Years ago I was counter manager for a couple of cosmetic lines at a department store, and I remember not being able to stand the smell of Estee Lauder White Linen! Just in recent years have I started liking scents that are more 'fresh' or 'linen' like.....agree on Chanel #5, though.....
I don't like Pink Sugar by itself? I mix it with Floral Street-Wonderland Peony..and then the Pink Sugar adds like a warm fireplace type Vibe for Winter? Love the Mix!! It gives me a good feeling...🌸🔥👌👌👌
After smelling 20+ Tom Ford fragrances, I am only a fan of Lost Cherry. So many of them have that grandma/grandpa old person vibe which I'm not a fan of.
I honestly could not with black orchid 😅 it was way to much! I’m also super sad that I can’t buy Libre intense it smells so sexy but my husband is deathly allergic to lavender 😭 I want the perfume but I literally can’t get it due to his medical reason lol anyways I love your channel 💕✨
I like Angel and flankers and A*Men. Guess I'm an angel girl on the alien or angel divide. I do like Chanel #5 , the Eau Premiere and the Edp versions best . I tend to like tea scents and spice/ incense as my favorite fragrance genres. Also classic true chypre green scents( Chanel #19) .
It's about to be 50k fam... More success to you Girl... This lavender sweat looks beautiful on you.. I don't like most the celebrity scents besides some exceptions.. For my nose, most of them smell the same..
I like My Way...I like Alien....I like Marc Jacob's Perfect. I've smelled Bacarat Rouge and I found it to be a gourmand scent that I wasn't bowled over by at first sniff...but the dry down was pleasant enough. I prefer Delina to Bacarat Rouge. I find it amusing when people complain that a fragrance is nothing special or original. Pretty much every combination of fragrant ingredients has been done and redone numerous times, so it's hard to get too creative or unique...and much of the appeal has to do with the packaging and the big-name label. I guess they should now combine really unique ingredients....like sweaty gym socks and sardines with a hint of patchouli and a splash of jasmine and a spritz of vanilla in order for a fragrance to be deemed special enough, lol.
I actually find that Black Opium smells like maple syrup that’s been out all day. Like at first the syrup smells good, but then it gets that weird smell that I can’t describe after it’s been sitting out too long if you didn’t wash the dishes that day 😂 That’s the most accurate way I can describe why I don’t like that scent
I love mugler perfumes so much. Lol they are different, nothing else like them. Alien is my love. Angel paved the way for all gourmand scents. My moms signature perfume is tabu. She has been wearing it since she was a teen, and shes now in her 70s. It was created the same year as Chanel #5, in 1932. Its what i would call a vintage perfume, and i wouldnt personally wear it, but i LOVE it on my mom.
Chanel No. 5. A good example of longing on my part. My mom wore this and smelled amazing. I've tried it through the years as my body's changed and it just doesn't love me. It smells of uric acid on me and I d rather smell good. Yes, I have a bottle that has the same status as your Coco Mmsl. It's there to remind me. When I really miss her, I smell the bottle.
For me I absolutely hate aura thierry mugler and Lolita lempicka, makes me so nauseous and the worse migraine, but my favorite perfume of all time is Alien
No 5 was classic perfumery back then that was for the classy lady in mind at the time. It’s definitely not for me but I have a lot of respect for its origin.
Coco Mademoiselle is my workplace scent- I live in the tropics and I feel this perfume has a cooling quality. My way is another one I love; is fresh and tuberose forward scent with great longevity and silliage. I don't understand the hate with these two. I do agree with La nuit tresor- it smells dusty and cloying to me
I would love a review on TOM FORD bitter peach, when I first smelled the sample I gagged and was thought HELLZ no, but decided to wear one day at work when I didn't have anything else, and it actually wears beautifully and last a long time. That price though 😢
black opium was the first "designer" perfume I've ever had and it was my signature scent for YEARS. it was my signature scent for so long that now when I smell it its boring for me but man, I've gone through soooo many bottles of that stuff. now it just smells like memories w my ex boyfriend lmao I also wore alien all through high school which looking back is crazy considering that stuff is STRONG and everyone probably had a headache walking past me in the hallways
I blind bought marc jacobs perfect, I used the entire bottle( which is very cute btw, love the little runtz banana) but I agree, it is a basic scent and doesn't project it doesn't last very long
Before I was into perfume, I had the opportunity to take my step-grandmother’s bottle of Chanel #5 home with me from my grandpa’s house, I was cleaning out her closet, but I wasn’t about it. It just smells so dated! No one smells like that anymore! If I was cleaning out her closet at this point in my perfume journey I might grab it just to have it, but meh. I got her knock off Burberry scarf and her knock off LV duffel lol
Oh man... I LOVE White Diamonds. I adore vintage style perfumes. It's just so much more to my taste. And my great grandmother DID wear it. And she smelled fabulous! Chanel no. 5 falls flat to me. I like aldehydes, but that's all I get from it. Just soap.
I hear that 540 smells like Cloud and Her but I can't stand Cloud and I love Her and I cannot for the life of me see the similarities between those two... I hope one day to smell 540 just to see. Also I looove La Nuit Tresor haha. It's so dark!
I love BR540 and can’t stand Her, so I get what you mean. Her on me gives me a constant headache, it smells nice but I can’t wear it, there must be a note in it that I can’t get past
So most of them are smelling bad bit are bestsellers because of the name. And some of them really smell bad but they wake up a sense of nostalgia and that‘s why they are mostly loved.
Quite a few of my favorites are on here. I'm definitely someone who loves strong, sweet or interesting scents. Like my favorite perfumes ever is: -Interlude Woman by Amouage -very intense, smoky, herbal tea, incense in a sacred temple Some of my favorites on this list were: -Pink Sugar -Alien -Black Opium -Angel They all smell really good to me, they make a cloud of happiness around me. I love patchouli in Angel, and patchouli mixed with peony and Musk is one of my favorite combinations because it feels so comforting. I hate: -All the Chanel line because they have a ton of aldehyde and white floral notes that just turn me off for some reason. Any patchouli they have is not blended well with some sweet or pink floral that makes patchouli very comforting for me.
I wonder how many of these are “oh it’s popular so I hate it” rather than the scent itself actually being a bad scent. Cause pretty much all of these are bestsellers. 😂
I love a few of these and have them in my collection ❤
@@renitac8776 same here! 😊
Most of them do suck IMO though. lol but that’s just based of my scent preferences I don’t vibe with any of these execpt baccarat
Incorrect most of the perfumes she listed are TRASH , popularity has nothing to do with it
I think you’ve got a good point.
I completely agree with you
Nope. We don't like them because we hate the way they smell...
They could know someone who over-spays it and got fragrance fatigue
@@rollercoastergirly yeah that’s a possibility
You are right. I don't hate these perfumes, but I try to buy something different because they are so popular and recognisable.
Agreed, that perfume is horrible!!! 😂
I really like the og opium, it's a woman's perfume. Not for little girls.
@@nectariad6164absolutely true
@@heidith3618 The men's version is even worse!
I love white diamonds. I actually write down the name of a perfume when it gets described as old/ mature. I almost always love those.
And I love love love Chanel no5
Perfumes were great back in the day so "old/mature" usually means complex, projecting...
@@orangeblossom1769 agree completely
Same here 😆
I remember when that perfume first came out.
Curiosity also got the best of me with Chanel No. 5 and it smelled like cat piss on me
I bought a bottle on reputation alone. I hated it and never wore it.
Agree 100%. 540 smelled masculine and very meh to me first few times, but now my fave
A few thoughts:
*My Way is one of my all time faves
* TF Black Orchid is quite literally the strongest perfume I’ve ever tried. Like Black Opium on steroids
* Light Blue on me is lovely at first but the cedar amps into cat pee on me
* Pink Sugar would be great for me but the licorice just kills it
* White Diamonds is not horrible in super small doses
* Chanel No 5 is actually quite beautiful to me- again in small doses but ugh I love aldehydes
White Diamonds and Chanel No5 in the right amounts at the right time are really magical.
I’ve loved Chanel No.5 for years. Can’t over spray it, but in the right amount it is beautiful! It was actually my first expensive fragrance as a teenager. I’m really loving Chanel Coco Noir right now!
I love My Way 😩
@@brinnyful I’ve been wearing it a lot the past few days. It’s helped cheer me up during the freezing weather we’ve had lately. I find it to be quite joyful!
@@SandraMorris51 so much perfume is that way, seasonal. What smells great on winter doesn't in summer and vice versa
Every time I watch a video named “Most hated perfumes” Angel is there 😂. I personally use Angel EDT and absolutely love it! I can see why people don’t like this perfume but hey that’s the beauty of perfumes, there’s something for everyone 😊
I'm surprised Angel didn't make it to number one, the one time I sprayed it in Sephora it made me want to vomit 😭😭
Same. I hate it so much.
Same! It smells like a nasty sour turd lol
These comments make me want to wear it even more 😘
I couldn’t hide my distaste when I got La Vie Est Belle last year for my birthday from my dude!
What r your favorites?
@@tinyviolin From Chanel my favorite is the original Allure
I like La Vie Est Belle but I think it’s a good beginner scent for when you don’t know what you’re really into yet. It’s a very safe, pleasant, all around good scent that isn’t too strong, but for me personally I outgrew it quickly and moved onto Garden by Dolce and Gabana 😊
I don‘t think so at all. It‘s insanely sweet
Not a safe blind but at all
I disagree, it's so sweet and strong it's nauseating.
Not 3 of my absolute faves in the thumbnail lol 🥴 happy holidays Ksenja!
Love the new background
I love TF Tobacco Vanille. I did not at first, but then I tried it again and the dry down is amazing. I find with Tom Ford fragrance that they initially smell bad, but improve over time.
I love it! I just discovered it about a month ago and have been obsessed. Dry down is like a spicy brownie on me. I smell delicious.
I'm wearing it right now. I love it.
I’m in my late 30s and I like no 5 I also think that it’s classy and timeless
I think something happened where the younger people were taught vintage scents are old and bad. Middle age and older people didn't have that same association with scents that came out before they were born. They're probably on a modern synthetic sugar high. All those sweet scents make them intolerant to florals and aldehydes.
Generation X includes people who are 45, since Generation X are those born between mid/late 60’s to early 80’s…I’m in my 40’s and I hate Chanel No 5…always have hated it.
Chanel no 5 is a lovely memory of Marilyn Monroe , just as timeless as her
I was born in late 60s and not a fan of the Chanel 5.
My mom used to wear it. She smells good with it. I don’t like it on myself
My mom wears my way all the time and she smells so good with it on but it smells bad on me. Perfume is SO freaking individual, like my literal mom and I (who share DNA) smell completely different with the SAME perfume. Love my way on her though, so good!
I love mugler alien esp in the cold crisp windy atmosphere.!!!💯❤️🔥
The moment the perfume came in contact with my skin chemistry, I wanted to gag...disbelieving how a scent I just had whole-heartedly complimented my mom on could smell so -literally- rotten on myself, I went in again for a sniff of my wrist and... even more repulsive...😕
Needless to say, I didn't buy Angel for myself that day😅
P.s.: To this day, I still regret not just buying the flankers -- not only because they smelled amazing on me and were on sale but because I freaking knew that I would probably never ever come across them in the shops again and I still couldn't bring myself to splurge *just a teenie bit* more🤣🤣😒
I’m sure you could easily find them online. Have you tried?
@@teeeff8337 The 2020 version, probably yes... -just not for that price point and the immediate assurance of having an original😭- 😅😅
Angel smells awful on me, too!! I thought I was the only one.
It would be boring if we all smelled the same ;)
I love pink sugar too!
Pink Sugar is a very nice perfume that suffers from juvenile packaging.
I love it too
Great video. Overall it is not one of my absolute favorites, but I think I would like to keep it in my collection because it does smell nice for the right occasion, and has a lot of history behind it.
okay but IM OBSESSING OVER THAT SWEATER YOU'RE WEARING
it's such a cute colour and it looks so soft and comfy
Even one spray and I have to scrub it off
Finally somebody that agrees with me that Light Blue is trash 😁
Yeees, love these videos!!! 😍
I absolutely love Angel and Chanel #5 😂😂😂. I was a little surprised by some of the scents on the list lol
I AM HURT!! Marc Jacobs perfect is my signature I get compliments everywhere I go with it on
I'm always surprised when I see My Way on a dislike list. My Way is my signature scent. But it's so interesting to see what people love and dislike because we all have such unique tastes! ☺️💜 Happy Holidays Ksenja!
I knowww My Way is a beautiful sweet white floral scent and it doesn't deserve the hate
Hryyy I have that perfume and I was wondering if you know any products that I can layer this scent with?
@@salemhagos5174 I haven't found a scent that is pretty identical to My Way, however I do have a few favorite scents from Bath and Body Works that I use to layer it with. I use Poppy, A Thousand Wishes and Confetti Daydream. Typically I just use those in body cream form with the perfume. Honestly though, I use My Way on its own more than I do layered.
@@salemhagos5174 I layer it’s with lotion bath and body works into the night ❤ adds some sweetness ❤
I really like My Way too but cant stand the Givenchy fragrance that's meant to be very similar
Hey Ksenja 🤗. I really hope you do another "what I got for christmas " this year😍💖. I love these Videos 🥰
Tea is about to be spilled! 👀
Heyyy Ksenja !! We all have different noses , diferent backgrounds and all over influences. There is a market for everyone and every perfume : ) wish you lots of success for your channel , sweetie !
Big hugs from Portugal , Europe.
This list is from a pool in her IG. Not her choices,😁
Sounds a bit condescending. Isn't the point of being a social media star/influencer to share your opinions? Plus this video's list was from a poll.
Like the first perfume you showed how it reminded you of your mother and attached to it I'm like that with Red Door I've worn it a few times but i mostly keep it to remember my mom always reminds me of her it was her favorite. 💜
This video made me feel. So validated lol
The only one I love on this list is light blue.
She absolutely hated it lol
And lastly.
Angel EDT is everything. The EDP has a patchouli/cat pee scent but the EDT is sooo good. My signature scent.
I'm a fresh scent girl so I find Lancome perfumes too strong for me...I also don't get the hype with Black Opium.
How do you not like ysl Black Opium 😲 it’s so spicy and sexy. I don’t care how OG it is.
It reminds me of older ladies, like an aunt or a godmother would wear this
I love getting ready for the day while watching your videos :)
I always hated Lancome scents even when I would get a sample I would throw them out ..just not a pleasurable scent at all.
For me, it would be JLo Miami Glow (smells like BO), Light Blue (bathroom spray), My Way, and Alien Goddess Intense.
Why alien goddess intense? I was gonna blind buy it.
@@jaslinstanley2859 I personally think the jasmine is way too strong.
I hate Miami Glow and Glow! 🥴
@@jaslinstanley2859 The jasmine was way too strong, it is offensive. The original Alien Goddess is so much better.
I love la vie este belle! That’s my preference though. It lasts a long time on me too
Woo Hoo...I only have one from your list and I'm wearing it right now. Black Opium and I love it! I can't stand Angel!
I love Thierry Mugler Alien. Wear it frequently. As for the worst perfume IMHO, Estée Lauder Youth Dew should be on this list. 🤢
Hey Ksenja, I own Chanel 5 and I cannot dare wear that perfume!! I feel it’s for old people… lol!! I was wondering if someone could give me a layering combo to change the dynamic of the scent… it has literally been sitting in my collection. I haven’t found anyone to gift it to🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️
I'd be open to getting it as a gift. It's my favorite scent and my bottle is on its last few sprays!
Omg, I think I would watch a full video of you just reading and reacting to Fragrantica reviews 🤣🤣
My way and YSL black Opium will forever be my babies lol I do hate Chanel N5 though. Someone said Kayali pink pepper reminds them of white diamonds and I disagree.
You have to try Marc jacobs perfect intense 😍 it’s so yummy
I agree with this video. I literally always say this. I liked My Way on the opening, but the dry down is horrible. The rest straight up stink.
My way is so sweet it’s gorgeous I thought you would love that scent you really need to wear it in the skin it’s to die for
I honestly could not with black orchid 😅 it was way to much!
What do you mix Black Opium with? 😊
Your comment is so hilarious, I almost peed in myself after laughing so hard!🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂👏👏👏
I absolutely adore my way it’s my signature scent I don’t no how anyone could dislike it 😢
I do not ever planning on wearing No. 5, but it has been my mother’s signature scent since she was a teenager so it is very comforting to me.
I'm 36 and absolutely love Chanel No. 5❤️
There is something about it that no other perfume has!!
Omg I love Angel! I'm going to have to buy a bottle again now 😂😍
Chanel No. 5. A good example of longing on my part. My mom wore this and smelled amazing. I've tried it through the years as my body's changed and it just doesn't love me. It smells of uric acid on me and I
d rather smell good.
When i wear Pink Sugar people fell in love with me.
Say wherever you want, this perfume is a sexy, flirty masterpiece
Coco Mademoiselle is my workplace scent- I live in the tropics and I feel this perfume has a cooling quality. My way is another one I love; is fresh and tuberose forward scent with great longevity and silliage. I don't understand the hate with these two. I do agree with La nuit tresor- it smells dusty and cloying to me
ik im in the minority but i love Chanel No 5 at a fancy dinner or event , it is mature and class
Yes I agree it’s amazing and so classy ❤😍
Ive not smelled black orchid by tom ford.ive seen it at kohls ❤😂😅😅😊❤
for me hypnotic Poison , gris chanel , Jimmy Choo . angel . prada la femme
Oh man... I LOVE White Diamonds. I adore vintage style perfumes. It's just so much more to my taste. And my great grandmother DID wear it. And she smelled fabulous!
Chanel no. 5 falls flat to me. I like aldehydes, but that's all I get from it. Just soap.
I find it so interesting about why people like what they like. It seems like memory and scent associations have a lot to do with it.
I see BR540 similarities to Cloud, but not to Burberry Her at all.
I think it just depends on preference. I love the smell of a nice pipe tobacco but I don’t wanna smell like it.
I love Chanel #5. I think it’s class in a bottle. I only wear that for a special night out. It wears very nice on my skin. ❤
So most of them are smelling bad bit are bestsellers because of the name. And some of them really smell bad but they wake up a sense of nostalgia and that‘s why they are mostly loved.
Interesting. Honestly ones I like on this list are, black opium, Perfect, 540, and La vie Bell
I love the smell of no.5! I got a sample from chanel bc I can’t afford it but it smells really good 😂
Quite a few of my favorites are on here. I'm definitely someone who loves strong, sweet or interesting scents.
Like my favorite perfumes ever is:
-Interlude Woman by Amouage -very intense, smoky, herbal tea, incense in a sacred temple
Some of my favorites on this list were:
-Pink Sugar
-Alien
-Black Opium
-Angel
They all smell really good to me, they make a cloud of happiness around me. I love patchouli in Angel, and patchouli mixed with peony and Musk is one of my favorite combinations because it feels so comforting.
I hate:
-All the Chanel line because they have a ton of aldehyde and white floral notes that just turn me off for some reason. Any patchouli they have is not blended well with some sweet or pink floral that makes patchouli very comforting for me.
