Basculin is one of GameFreak's little mysteries. White-striped Basculin for some reason is not considered a Hisuain form in Scarlet and Violet, and will produce white-striped spry without an Everstone as long as the mother is a white striped one (or when you're using a ditto). When it comes to passing down specific poké balls all three variants are considered one and the same, but the white striped form does have different egg moves from the red and blue variants because this fish is just one big clusterfudge of exceptions to the rule.
It isn’t really considered a regional variant in Legends: Arceus either, according to Laventon. It’s just an ancient relative lost to time, I suppose 🤷♀️
Well, what offspring is it supposed to produce if it followed the typical regional form pattern? Both the red/blue-striped forms are equals and it makes little sense to just pick one or to make it random either. This was one of the things I was wondering for a long time on how they'd handle it before HOME 3.0.0's release. None of the alternatives or the chosen one are really satisfactory.

Awesome video! I love the Hisuian Pokémon, they are some of the best designs in the series and probably the best regional forms out of all the regional form families we have from Galar and Alola. Also side note Hisuian Pokémon are not ancient forms, they are regular regional forms from a not so far past of Sinnoh. It is confirmed in game that some of the hisuian Pokémon came after the form we already know such as the starters and others like hisuian Zorua and Zoroark.
I think I get why Gentledude didn't send Ozai out first for Bundle, he thought it was Water like Johtonian Qwilfish. But Overqwil is Dark/Poison so nothing Bundle has would have hit him that hard anyways. He lost Sokka, Katara, and Iroh for really no reason. Ironically, he had someone that absolutely would have outsped the 136 base speed Bundle. Aang. Electrode's 150 base speed and a Special Electric move with Tera probably would have ended it without a single loss. But he didn't even bring Aang at all
I don't get the dislike that poppy is a child. That's the fun thing about pokemon battles. Don't matter if you're 5 or 50. The strength of your pokemon doesn't depend on or matter on your age 😊

Have you two considered the fact that while the concept of 10 year olds running off on their own is indeed ludicrous enough, Poppy is literally a bloody toddler? That girl couldn't be trusted to walk down a road without faceplanting or getting lost. That's what the hangup is, not her high level pokemon.

You should probably put more "enters" before the spolier so that it ends up under read more. Pokémon HOME currently classifies it as a Hisuian Form so it's still valid. Considering it's at the end of the Kitakami Pokédex, there's probably more to White-Striped Basculin's appearance in the DLC.
I'ved brought over the Hisuian Pokémon as soon as possible as they never got a fair use in a regular game with regular battles with their full capabilities (items/abilities). Kleavor retained on my team. Sharpness, SwordsDance, StoneAxe, X-scissor, Acrobatics with a Berry (used to be Sitrus, now it's Salac) is an absolute terror. It together with PlayRough/Protean-Meow absolutely slayed Drayton in the BBL without even being overlevelled. Arcanine can also run through teams if I let it.. But I decided a long time ago that Armarouge would be my Fire-type. 😅

You didn't need to send Ozai back to evolve. You just need to level it while knowing Barb Barrage. It learns Barb Barrage at level 28, so you can evolve it by 29 on your own.
I’ll save anyone watching time: yes. Hisuian mons are generally pretty good being some of closest to our modern day. They aren’t the most powerful in the game from a competitive standpoint, but they’re still omega strong. This is like asking “can I beat Pokémon scarlet / violet with only the starter?”
The reason Rock Smash did nearly as much as Brick Break is because if you tera into the same type as a move (aka tera watter and bubble) it will always be 60 BP if it was originally lower than that.
Lol, the in-game trainers never ever realizing Illusion always cracks me up. On the other hand, the only in-game trainer to use Zorua makes it blatantly obvious in their pre-fight dialog.
So, what happened with the Iron Valliant is that you misunderstood it's ability, Quark Drive. What it does it that it increases it's highest stat by 30% (or 50% if the highest stat is speed), it does *not* maximize attack. If it maximized attack like you thought it did then it would be genuinely the most broken ability pokemon has ever introduced. It would be a free frame one belly drum with zero downsides
Iuno if you'll read this, but i THINK i have an explanation to your last 1 minute video questions regarding Bundle and Valiant So Between Sada/Turo, Turo's team is the only one with a Pokemon that uses a non attacking move, aka the Bundle with Snowscape. The AI is hardcoded to 'always' try to either use a move that will benefit it either immediately or later in the next turn, or to use a Super Effective Move. For Bundle, the reason it went for Snowscape is because your using a physical focused Pokemon and Snowscape creates snow, which raises Bundles defense stats, since neither Freeze Dry or Water Pulse or Drill Peck are SE against Overqwuil, which is Poison Dark, since he had no moves that could hit oyu SE, Turo went for Snowscape to give his bundle a defensive buff against your physical attacks He's also... dumb because he does this randomly, i even made a video showcaing a turo team vs sada team, and he went Snowscape 'instantly' vs Sandy Shocks, an electric ground mon that hits special attack.... iuno why, he just threw. As for Iron Valiant, it has '4' moves that it can hit you with, but 1 does zero damage cause your immune, those 4 moves are Psycho Cut, Spirit Break, Brick Break, and Poison Jab. You are neutral to Spirit Break and Brick Break, Resist Poison Jab, and immune to Psycho Cut. While Spirit Brick 'if' it connected would deal more damage, would only reduce your special attack stat and your a physical attacker, so it probably prioritized the Brick break, but honestly it could also have probably flipped a coin and used either at that point. hope that helps explain a few things~
I have accumulated two different parties of only hisuian pokémon and played the violet game from start to finish as well as a teal mask. And from my experience not only are the hisuian pokémon much stronger but it also provides for a funner play experience

The luck in the Farigiraf fight reminds me of the time I was just convinced Pokemon games have a forced rng mechanic in them somewhere. I swear they make enemies proc effects more often and it's not just confirmation bias. My worst moment was an ORAS nuzlocke in which I got confused, paralyzed, flinched etc. so often in a row, that the odds I ended up at were somewhere around 0.001%. I think I was full-parad 4 times in a row in that fight. It's like they just turn on the Darkest Dungeon "time to lose someone" difficulty at random and spam you with the worst luck imaginable.
Tsuchinoko is a snake yokai that is said to both be a cruel deceiver and bringer of luck. But to be honest it just looks funny because it's a chunky flat snake.

The reason Iron Valiant did so little damage is the Stockpiles you used. Each one raises Defense & Special Defense.
