I am a non-Muslim, but I love to listen to this gentleman speaking. He has such a lovely way of delivering his message. He is gentle and very different from so many others I have listened to. He makes Islam very attractive. He also makes Islam common sense. 👍 I send him my greetings.

Some notes on the above lecture..
    ## Greed
    - To attain wealth, don't be greedy in acquiring it.
    - Our understanding of Barakah is wrong, it's not about abundance of wealth but rather how wealth can satisfy us and help us feel content.
    - Hadith related by Muslim where the Prophet ﷺ said to Hakeem "Oh Hakeem, this wealth (the commodities you see outside like cars, houses etc) is very green and sweet (crops) - whoever takes it but with a generous heart and state and thinking that I am taking this to spend on others and I am not taking to withhold on myself, then he will be given blessing in it" ... "A person taking wealth will be blessed on it based on their intention"
    - Another Hadith says "Whoever takes somebody else's wealth to borrow with the intention to pay back, Allah will help them to pay it back however if you take from someone else with the intention to swindle them and deceive them and not give it back, then Allah will cause it to be destroyed for you and that wealth will be exempt for Barakah"
    - The prophet ﷺ said "Then the person will be like the person who will be eating, eating, eating and not satisfied".
    - This can lead to diseases etc and just like wealth, you may have a lot of wealth but you wont be satisfied.
    - It is oppression to stuff your stomach, Mufti mentions to have better quality food but less in quantity.
    ## Mornings
    - Prophet ﷺ said "Oh Allah, give blessing to my Ummah in their mornings" - There is a blessing in the morning
    - People who sleep around sunrise, they lose barakah and those who get up early to do their business, they get barakah in that.
    - According to science, sleep before midnight is more potent than after.
    - So if you sleep at 10 and wake up at 4/5, you will feel more refreshed.
    - Highly efficient people wake up early, and don't waste time.
    ## Sunnah
    - Following the sunnah in every facet of our lives can bring Barakah to us.
    - The prophet's ﷺ life was the most balanced and the best example for us all.
    - for example prophet ﷺ said "lick your fingers after your eat because you don't know what part of your food has the blessing".
    - Wash hands first, eat and then lick your fingers.
    - Barakah is in conservation, you think Allah will give you blessings when you are wasteful?
    - Hadith where the prophet ﷺ says "Moderation in spending is half of your livelihood"
    - We have no control of what comes in but we know what has come in.
    - We do have control of what goes out so if you are moderate and budget then you've solved half of your livelihood problem.
    ## Istighfaar
    - Doing Istighfaar - this is a very powerful one
    - Hasan al-Basri (counsellor, religious/spiritual guide and a master of all sciences)
    - Someone came to him and complained of a drout and no rain and he replied "You need to seek forgiveness from Allah"
    - A second person came to him and complained about poverty and how they are in need and Hasan al-Basri replied "Do Istighfaar"
    - A third person comes, and says "Im having problem with getting male offspring" and he replied "Do istighfaar"
    - A fourth person came to him and mentioned how the well has dried up and he replied "Do Istighfaar"
    - A student or affiliate of Hasan Al Basri asked him "why are you giving the same remedy for everyone, what is going on?" and Hasan Al-Basri replied 'Allah says this in the Quran, in Surah Nuh "Seek forgiveness from your Lord, because your Lord is the most forgiving" .. " He will send down rain in abundance, and He will extend and assist you with wealth and children and He will allow the lakes/rivers to flow for you".
    - When sin's are removed, the barakah comes.
    ## Conclusion
    - Live every aspect of your life with Taqwa and the Sunnah, recite the Quran daily, make Dua daily, do Dhikr (istighfaar) often and daily, avoid greed and change intentions when acquiring wealth and treasure a routine which revolves around the early mornings and prayer.

      Mashallah really good notes.
      Here are also my notes. Inshallah hope this is beneficial;
Shaitan gives the false impression that you have to do haram things to be happy and have fun, implying that religious people are not happy and cannot have fun - in reality the haram things only short-term pleasure and brings misery.
      Most sins are short-term pleasurable.
The best of people are the ones who have a long-life filled with good deeds.
Baraka: Divine goodness from Allah (swt) that’s present in something.
      Manifestations:
      - Put in less and receive greater amount/quantity.
      - If baraka is placed in something that’s already abundant, it will provide greater benefit. Eg, buying something that lasts a long time.
One of the biggest places that requires baraka is in a marriage.
Baraka is not material possessions, it’s what that possession gives you and allows you to do in a form of self-fulfilment with a projection to the Hereafter. We have the potential of receiving the blessings/baraka of the heavens and the earth, because ultimately the earth was created for humans.
      1. Be thankful (shukr), and have Taqwa (God-consciousness and fear of God). Removes arrogance and confirms Allah (swt) is in Absolute Control.
      2. Recitation and understanding of the Quran. Ponder and reflect over it.
      3. Sincere Duas.
      4. Don't be greedy. Have sincere and clean intentions with your wealth. Greed is like a person continuously eating without being satisfied; leads to misery and illnesses/health issues.
      5. Start your day early in the morning. Blessings in the morning. Baraka if you are awake after Fajr and don’t go back to sleep.
      6. Follow the Sunnah. Brings balance and practicalities. Eg, specific ones mentioned like licking fingers after eating; never waste food). Hadith - moderation in spending is half your livelihood (Budgeting and controlling your spending habits without being concerned with what others are doing with their spending habits).
      7. Istigfar. When sins are removed, blessings will then begin.

Nowadays I am seeing so many of Ulemas and spiritual leaders showing us how to gain wealth and become rich by doing this or that Athkars. Would somebody tell us how many times our beloved prophet Mohammed ‎ﷺ told us to become rich by doing these azkars. This look like sham to me.
