    Steps to increase one's iman ( as self reminder)
    1. Guard one's prayers
    2. 100 istigfar and 100 selawat every morning and evening
    3. Recite quran on a daily basis no matter how little
    4. Allocate some private time with Allah SWT to do zikrullah -( put phone in flight mode and spend time with Allah SWT immediately after fajar or before sleeping)
    5. Go to a zikir gathering in remembrance of Allah SWT
    6. Do not abandon anything right that one has been doing
    7. DO NOT EVER JUSTIFY YOUR SINS

    Summary:
    • The greater the level of iman, the greater we will treasure it.
    • Ensure our surroundings and environment are halal.
    • Signs of low iman;
    o Sinning with no guilt.
    o A hardened heart (Eg, no interest, benefit nor pleasure in reading the Quran).
    o Feeling lazy to do good deeds.
    o No value for the Sunnah.
    o No tawwakul / reliance on Allah (swt).
     Small things upset us.
     The greater the tawwakul, the further away we are from depression.
    o Being mean and stingy - the more we give in this world, the more we will receive in the Hereafter. Being generous can bring happiness to both the recipient and giver.
     Give Salaam to people.
     Feed people.
     Be good to relatives - reinforces unity.
     Pray at night for the sake of Allah (swt).
    o Rejoicing at the calamity of others.
    o Not avoiding doubtful actions (not clearly defined as haram).
    o Making fun of the Sunnah.
    o No concern for the negative situation of the Muslims around the world.
    o Obsessive concern about one’s appearance / narcissism.
    • Cures for low iman;
    o Islamic knowledge from the Quran and Hadith.
    o Sit in spiritual gatherings - we are who we associate with, and we are the product of our surroundings.
    o Increasing good deeds.
    o Concern for an evil ending / state when we die.
    Some actions that deprive us of the kalima on our deathbed;
     Missing / lazy with prayers.
     Consuming alcohol.
     Disobedience to parents.
     Oppression.
    o Have a dhikr regimen
     Say 100 x istighfar in the morning and evening; like having 2 x showers per day where we cleanse the sins we committed in the previous night and day.
     Say 100 x salawat to Prophet Muhammad (swt) in the morning and evening.
    (Sunan an-Nisa’I 1297; Book 13, Hadith 19).
     Read Quran everyday - it is our lifeline and removes sadness.
     Devout private and undistracted time / meditation to Allah (swt).
     Join a dhikr gathering.
    o Never abandon the basic good deeds we are doing - never think our small deeds are unworthy.
    o Never ever justify our sins - always keep a distance and boundaries to sins.

    1. 100 istighfaar in the morning and evening
    2. 100 Salawat in the morning and evening
    3. One page of Quran daily minimum
    4. 5 minutes minimum meditation just for Allah. Start with 30 seconds
    5. Try to find a gathering that reminds you of Allah
    Be consistent on any good action big or small. Don’t ever justify your sins (you won’t improve if you do)

    What are the requirements for a Muslim to be called a 'momin' and what invalidates that status? The requirements for a Muslim to enter the status of a 'momin' are 1. Knowledge, 2.Certain , 3.Sincere,4. Truthful, 5.Love, 6. Surrender, 7. Acceptance and 8.Disbelief and discarding 'taqhoot.

    مفتی صاحب نے دورانِ وعظ تیس سیکنڈوں کے لیے جو ذکرِ قلبی کا تجربہ کرایا، اُس سے ذہن حضرت حکیم الامت تھانوی رحمۃاللہ علیہ کے ایک ارشاد کی طرف منتقل ہوا،جو کہ کتاب "انفاسِ عیسٰی" میں مذکور ہے، کہ "حضرت والا محض ذکرِ قلبی پر اکتفا نہیں فرماتے کیونکہ اس میں اکثر ذہول ہو جاتا ہے اور طالب اسی دھوکہ میں رہتا ہے کہ میں ذکرِ قلبی میں مشغول ہوں اس لیے ذکر لسانی بھی اس کے ساتھ ضروری ہے." (انفاسِ عیسٰی، صفحہ ٥١٣)

    In the begininng of talk it is said that the iman of a person[who is comitting sin] comes. out of his body while he is comitting sin and the same iman returns into the body after that sinful act is finished. This iman's going out of body and returning bact into body is done just to protect the person from sin! Can any one explain how that person is protected from sin, even after that person comitted his sinful act? @ZamzamAcademy@Abdur-Rahman ibn Yusuf.

    What is meant by Iman? Is just believing in the existence of Allah and the 'risalat' of Muhammad bin Abdullah enough for a person to be called a 'momin'? Then all the 72 sects and subsects believe in that. Are all the 72 sects on the right path (sirat e mustaqeem)?

      That's accepting. Emaan is actually believing it in your heart and not just think it.

      astaghfirullah'a rabbi min kulli zambi wa attoobu ilaih (he didn't pronounce the ilaih part clearly) - You can use any form of istighfar. There are a few from the Sunnah like AstaghfirULLAH aladhi la ilaha ila huwal hayyul Qayuumu wa attoobu ilah or Rabbigh firili wa tubb alliya innaka antta tawabur Raheem. Beautiful Words and statements of istighfar are important but niyaa and ikhlas is more essential to a good/beneficial dhikr/istighfar. Do it with concentration and consciousness of Allah SWT.
