- Dr. Kiran Bedi is the first woman in India to have joined the officer ranks of Indian Police Service.
She served in it for 35 years and moved up to the highest rank, as Director-General, Bureau of Police Research and Development, Government of India.
Dr. Bedi served as Police Advisor to the Secretary-General of the United Nations in the Department of Peace Keeping Operations in New York.
She is the recipient of The Ramon Magsaysay Award, also called Asia's Nobel Peace Award for bringing about a positive relationship between Police and the People.
Dr. Bedi is a Law graduate, Masters, and a Ph.D. Scholar from IIT Delhi, with post-doctoral Nehru Fellowship.
She is an author of several books such as I Dare, It's Always Possible, As I see, Creating Leadership and more...
Dr. Bedi has been voted as the most admired and trusted woman in India by Readers Digest, The Week Magazine, and others over the years. She has a biopic on her life called, Yes Madam Sir, made by an Australian film maker.
She is running two NGOs, NAVJYOTI and India Vision Foundation that reach out to marginalized sections of society in education, skills development, in urban and rural areas as well as prisons.
She is an academic and has been a visiting faculty with Iclif, a Leadership Training Institute in Malaysia.
As of now, she has a following of more than 12 million followers on social networks. Her Twitter handle is @TheKiranbedi.
She assumed office as Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry on May 29, 2016.

I have come here after watching few videos of her. What a lady she is. These issues are serious and needed more attentions. I totally admire her works and efforts which she has been doing since a long time. Like other citizen my responsibilitiy is to help and give my contribution to make india great always 🙏
Ma'am, yes, I did in many cases. I gave a cheque to my husband when I keep hearing my MIL saying her son gave a portion of money for my Mangalya chain. I gave back her only one chain which she gave me after marriage.
I too was a lion in my office and people feared for my honesty, sincerity, courage, bold action taker, questioning authorities for any injustice, mismanagement... Though, at the beginning people couldn't take it and troubled me a lot. That, I withstood, faced boldly, later, justice started winning automatically. It's an heavenly experience... I am maintaining the same till the end...
I feel proud of myself. I don't need to depend on somebody to appreciate me. Today's my life is the mirror of what I was. That's enough for me.
Thank you Ma'am for me to go back and look at my way of life. But, I didn't studied in hi fi school. Still, I am so proud and blessed to have genius, God hearted teachers in the government schools I have studied. They taught me real life... I am so grateful to all my Gurus, lots may not be in this world.
Of course, my parents played major role in our upbringing. My Mom lived only 9 years in my life, but, what she taught me become road map for me to live for 90 years. My Dad, so matured, inspiring soul taught we girls to boldly go out of house and learn lot for life.... Amazing parents. We are blessed to have a perfect wonderful parents as a gift to our life. I love you Mom and Dad...

I am also a student who was facing several challenges at home. Sometime the environment of home make us depressed. This is only due to our india staying back. Best parenting is most important, and this thing is not know to many indian parents. We need to start a survey or conduct conference's specially for parents, to teach them how they need to behave at home so that there will be no wrong impact on there child. They can have many distress relating to there home, and thats make student in india to stay back and just jumbling up in there family problems. It is the duty of teachers whether any student facing such problem or anything because if it is not solved at right time it can lead to hazardous situations. And thats why many unrelevent thing happening.

I really liked the idea Kiran ji...wonderful and passionate. Also, any suggestion on what to do if schools access teachers on how many times the teacher has visited her children's homes....it'll not be another austerity and another drama from the parents end? If the teachers aren't passionate & motivated ?
