He was behind Von Miller and Chubb on the depth chart of the Broncos, that's why you probably didn't hear of him. Was used only in a "backup linebacker" role, not even an edge pass rusher. Here many things come into play for his success - he was given a chance to be a starter, and he was placed as an edge pass rusher where he thrives.

He's still got to take on Brees when he returns healthy, Ryan twice, the same Panthers O-line he wrecked in Week 2, Wilson, Murray, Stafford, Brissett, Minshew, Mariota, and Watson. Broncos fan here and known about this guy for years, was a stud and so happy that he finally got a chance, pissed that it was with another team. Broncos fans knew, and the rest of the NFL had no clue. Before the season started, I was willing to predict that Shaq would get at the very least 10 sacks. He learned everything he knows from Miller and Ware. I have seen Miller use the power to speed move just like that, and Miller had a key interception last year that looked just like Barrett. Before people ask why the Broncos gave him up it's because we already have Miller and Chubb and Barrett really wanted to be a starter. I'm glad that Barrett is doing well. Props to him and I wish him luck for the rest of the year.

One thing that isn't discussed enough is that what he's doing requires freakishly good balance. He's not stumbling around wasting motion. To play with that kind of lean while still being in full control you have to have such great balance and a low center of gravity helps with that, but on some of these moves he's leaning almost 45 degrees into some of these moves. To do that and to not lose speed leverage or strength is amazing and it's understandable why tackles can't contend with him.

I feel like the sack at 4:53 wasn’t bad technique by the lineman. He could’ve pushed it more towards the inside but he committed to the outside because he had Gurley blocking behind him who ended up doing the same thing that you’re saying the right tackle did. Saw the rush to the outside and left for other help before Shaq put on the killer spin move.
