- NEW Haunted Boss Bloon - LYCH! BTD6 / Bloons TD 6 - update 28.0 has dropped and it comes with an all new BOSS bloon! Check out what Lych has to offer with its life and buff drain abilities alongside its ability to heal. Also featuring trophy store items and a couple other things in this update.

*NOTE:* It’s only buffs that heal Lych, nothing to do with the amount of towers. Distance does look like it matters a bit though in terms of healing for the earlier tiers. This is what I get for not reading carefully enough lol. (now the comments will probably be flooded with this oops)

ISAB's challenge brain really did him dirty for this Boss. Constantly trying to analyze and understand the boss when the mechanics are literally written out in plain text. There were definitely some funny moments though. "It looks like LYCH removes Ultraboost stacks. Time for a Homeland!" Lmao. The mechanics absolutely flew over his head in this one.

I'm pretty sure at the last tier, it was stealing the homeland buffs, so every time you clicked that ability you both stunned all your towers and healed it

@@Liquefaction The only buffs it eats are temporary buffs, so jungle drums and radar scanner don't get eaten, the only permanent buff it eats is perma brew, but when I was going against it everything else was fine (xx4 druid, x3x ninja, 250 village + 520 village + 105 village) however I did not see if the homeland ability got eaten.
Edit: One way Aliensrock put it that I like is that "It doesn't seem to eat aura kinda buffs you know?" so any buff that isn't applied but rather just exists isn't eaten.

Props to ninja kiwi for this boss,a boss that leech off buffs from towers and heals off from it is a big brain move to encourage people to use paragons since they can’t be buffed therefore not healing the boss as much
Although I was enjoying destroying Normal Bloonarius with super buffed VTSG, I feel fine with this since the Ascended Shadow is so good.
You can have buffs without lych healing. Buffs like Homeland and alc buffing are temporary buffs or buffs not connected to a tower, those heal lych. Only buffs connected to a tower like temple buff or Ezeali's totem buff does not get sapped by lych.

They added a seek camo option and a huge buff to Druid of the jungle and jungles bounty, Making thorns appear on track

This update is by far the best update because it added the Canadian flag.

Actually only temporary buffs heal the boss from testing. Jungle Drums, Shinobi, Poplust do not heal the boss. Alch buffs, Overclock, and Homeland will

I’m amazed at how intelligent Isab is but he never realised the buffs is what was causing the health regeneration. I guess people have brain farts all the time! 👍👍
The reason it was still healing after you sold everything is because you kept the nuclear submarine which gives every tower except the dart paragon a buff. Also the village ability and overclock didn't help either to be honest. Not quite sure how the stunning towers works, kinda wish that was explained in the boss notes
Energizer is _supposed_ to be a persistent buff, and thus not absorbable. Like village (besides CTA and homeland). If it is, that is a bug
Energizer, support temple, and village (not cta or hd) don't get absorbed, since they are permanent buffs.
The thing that really caused it to heal was UB and HD buffs.

It almost definitely is pronounced “lich” seeing as liches are undead sorcerers, usually necromancers (so can raise the dead, as this boss does) and can also sometimes drain life and/or power from other things to use for itself (like how this boss is healed by your buffs).
I've watched so many SJB videos that this slip up from ISAB isn't even all that bad lol
Thinking about it, with lych stunning towers with buffs on them from time to time, when homeland defense is active, it gives lych a global stun chance. Watch out

@@vyor8837 people prefer temples over paragons because paragons cant be buffed, but if you cant buff temples anyway (because alch buff, homeland, ultraboost, etc. get absorbed) then paragons are the better option

The ninja paragon is BROKEN against this guy. It got more than 3/4 of the way through the map with my defense of tier 4, but after buying ninja paragon (and not changing anything else), tier 5 didn't make it even a THIRD of the way
Paragons can't be buffed so lych has no heals so it makes sense that the are great for the boss
@@bioshock2712 well, unlike ISAB, I actually KNEW buffs healed it, so I didn't have a single buffing tower anywhere. In other words, it didn't get far because I was healing it, but because my defense was terrible. The fact that upgrading to ninja paragon had as much of an effect as it did shows that its just a REALLY good tower.
Ninja paragon seems to be mega busted in general. Tier 40 soloed from 100 to 140 super easily and could probably go for quite a bit more but I got bored

I haven't done elite, but I used ninja paragon and it just destroyed him super fast he does seem broken but he's 3x the cost of the dart paragon
Everyone makes mistakes, I don't think there's any need to roast isab after he realised that buffs were healing lych.

The problem is he "read" the notes that said lych steals buffs to heal and just seemed to forget it instantly, yes it wasn't right in front of his face during the fight but it is something the man needs to be taught about reading lazily
The reason why Lych kept healing was because you had alch buff
Hey ISAB, if you didn’t know, the 0-4-0 Heli Pilot’s crate ability now gives BOTH coins and lives at the same time, unlike the past- where it gave coins and lives one by one.
I love how Isab just keeps making up reasons for the regen, like too many towers near the boss bloon hahahahahaha epic stuff, thanks ISAB for the laughs

Man the kind of updates we get for BTD 6 now compared to when the game came out is insane they wanna do care about the game and really wanna make it the best game they can
I swear I was yelling every time you fed it buffs to heal with its unreal, every ultrabuff was another pill to heal it
the reason using homeland is causing it to regenerate is because Lych takes away buffs and converts them into HP. The homeland ability grants a homeland buff to all towers on screen, thus allowing for a whole lot of abilities to get swallowed and turned into HP

What I want to know is: does Lych drain *all* buffs, or just applied buffs?
The Lych clearly took away the ultraboost, so it definitely takes away applied buffs. But what about influence buffs? Will it heal off of those? Influence buffs being: Poplust, Temple, Village buffs, etc.
It doesn't absorb Village or Etienne's global camo, so I'd assume that all influence buffs are safe
Influence buffs it will not heal off it it(if so then very miniscule since the influence buffs isn’t that strong compared to alch buffs,etc), since I tried it with jungle drums, poplust, etc. most influence buffs as in permanent influence it will not steal(or do too little of a steal to even notice) from with the exception of permabrew (haven’t tried support temple yet) however the buffs it will eat is alch buffs,ultraboost buffs(all stacks plus the original at once),overclock buffs, call to arms, homeland.
Also the amount of healing to the boss is dependent on how strong the buff on the is PLUS each and every buff on every single tower. This means using call to arms buffs on one tower will not heal as much vs homeland on all fast and strong dps towers.

Alright, that’s good to know. All regarding Perma Brew, that wouldn’t be an exception. It doesn’t immediately give towers a buff just because they’re in its radius. It has to apply its Perma Brew to the towers within its radius. So it would be an application buff rather than an influence buff.

I found normal lych really easy. Pretty good to handle with no selling or active buffs(passive buffs from the village and sun temple are completely fine and don’t heal the lych)
7:40 lych gained hp above it's max "cap" so maybe you can do a challenge where you try to give lych as much hp as possible but still try to defeat it? idk
I went shinobi spam for my first try, i regret it immensely, i also had like 20 alch buffs down and was so confused

the buffs healing more when in range is because alch is reapplying buffs more often while the tower is attacking
Finally, ISAB gave an update 10/10 because Ninja Kiwi gave us Canada Flag for Village.
some buffs that i noticed are that the vines on the 030 druid are stronger and the support chinhook ability drops both health and cash

Jungle drumms he doesn't disable. He disable only alch, call to arms/homeland and engi and some other i think this is the ones that i now
@@pokzgg yeah, he didn't heal for 520/230/105 village, xx4 druid, or x3x ninja, but he healed A LOT for 501 alchemist.

ISAB you should do a challenge where you do a boss battle in 4 player co-op mode and have one person who is trying to make you guys lose by healing Lych while the other 3 work together to beat all 5 levels of Lych would be really fun to watch.
Lych is basically "don't buy alch buffs and overclocked and don't use homeland" the rest should be okay

NK in the Patch Notes: Hey, he eats up the buffs you put on towers! So try to stay away from alchemists and other frequently used buffs

Passive buffs like jungle drums, mib, etc don’t heal it, only active buffs like homeland or alch
This is where paragons come into full play considering they can't be buffed and still do a lot of damage without it
First time I saw an isab video before an nk update video!
I was messing around with buddies in coop against Lych, and hoo boy we found out the bad way that Homeland will ruin you against this boss. Went from final skull to full health when it was activated.

Hey ISAB, you may or may not see this but the only reason you can’t use powers is because of ranked mode. If you turn ranked off you’ll be able to use powers
this boss is real neat, glad i don't have to get a vengeful every time and actually use paragons cause that's what nk designed this boss around
So since it steals buffs from towers, that just makes paragons even more useful for this, same goes for cripple moab and super brittle, Paragons don't take buffs but still op, and debuffs aren't somrthing that Lych can steal I think, idk about VTSG but it's probably still somewhat worth it, even without buffs, but I am unsure because of the support buff, cause if u get magic and support u automatixally get buffed towers, so maybe a 2-2-2-0 TSG is better?
Lych only steals applicable buffs from towers (alc buff, ultraboost. etc) so I don’t think the temple buffs can be taken and if they can, you can’t make a VTSG without at least 1 in support anyway so yea…

Its probably in the comments already, but the lych healed so much so constantly was because of the Homeland Defense buff (yes, it counts the ability as a buff since it gives an icon to the towers), and the perma-brew buffs. This boss bloon seems to be a raw DPS race with no support whatsoever (other than gluestorm, super brittle, and cripple moab)
I don’t really play btd6 that much personally anymore, but thank you, ISAB for keeping me still interested!

Don’t mean to comment just that buffs heal Lych, but it seems like buffed towers NEAR Lych heal it, so if your buffed towers are far away enough it won’t eat the buffs and heal. Also it seems that the higher the tier, the more range it has to steal buffs, so by the time tier 5 is out you need paragons since those don’t take buffs

First time I have been able to buy out all the limited event stuff in the trophy store.
There's currently a glitch in the boss mode right now. If you place down a hero, wait until the next round, exit the mode, choose a different hero and then continue where you left off, you can place the hero you picked while the last one is still on screen, which means if you keep doing that, you can every hero in the same round AT ONCE.

lich actualy gained more hp than his max hp when you sold so you can't just sell at the start to set up if you want to prevent the healing you have to set up before.
For elite tier1 i did 2 stickys, T2 i just used a MAD, 3 was done with super brittle, cripple moab, sun temple, tack zone and the mad from previous tier, T4 I alredy had a VTSG and for T5 I had ninja and dart paragons at lvl40.
Buffs you CAN use with lych: temple, TSG and VTSG, carrier flagship, village buffs (NOT CTA/homeland), shinobis, bottom path druids, probably also obyn buff for magic monkeys
I haven’t played the new version yet, but from what I’ve heard, Lych heals when you sell towers or when you have active buffs applied onto your towers (passive buffs do not heal the boss, however).
One of my favorite choices for this as of now is bomb blitz since it’s soul drains lives

@Isab I think the lych regeneration is percentage based. Looks like to me it regains hp on a percentage of its hp multiplied by the number of towers you have. Also looks like the percentage increases with each tier. This means its better to have a few high dps towers vs a lot of towers.

How to possibly pop Lych:
1. *DO NOT* buff your towers with anything, or use towers that a buff to themselves (basically, don't use these towers and upgrades: village, prince of darkness, sub commander, shinobii, overclock, career flagship, reactor, banana central, central market, trade empire, elite sniper, poplust, berserker brew and a couple others), as that will heal the boss and stop your towers from attacking.
2. Selling towers heals Lych by *A LOT*. Try not to do that during the fight.
3. Try to pop the mini- Lych ASAP when the boss reaches a skull, as that thing makes you lose lives in seconds.
4. Pop all the resurrected Moabs as possibly early you can, as they make the boss invincible.

Ok so it seems the best strats for Lych would be buffing high range towers far away from the track so Lych isnt able to steal the buffs (unless Lych gets more buff stealing range at higher tiers)
Or unbuffed towers that are still strong such as Tsg and paragons
The Lord Sab: First line of defense
Been trying out some of the balance changes this update. Most of them are just damage/pierce/price rebalances, but I do like how Metal Freeze is now Cold Snap and targets Camo Bloons.
Made 2-0-5 Icicle Impale help me defeat Lych at Tier 4. (The freaking DDT's that spawned kept getting past and I didn't know why. Simply upgraded a low-level Ice Monkey I had to remove a buff on my Dart Monkey - first time anyone's ever said/done that.)
I am also intrigued by the buff they gave to the EZ Collect and Banana Salvage upgrades for Monkey Farms.
Before, they were borderline useless upgrades, and now... They're still mostly useless.
But at least they have some practical theory concepts behind them.
For instance, 0-2-2 now earns more per banana than their base value if you don't collect them. Granted, it will never pay itself off, but if you have any of those 0-2-2 Insta's, you may as well put them down and forget they ever existed.
I also think 0-5-2 Monkeynomics could be a good single-farm strategy. Set it up; Tech Bot; stuff happens; profit for no effort. And with a huge sell-back that IS profitable (compared to not having Banana Salvage), if you ever need a quick burst of around $100K, there's your answer!
...
Too bad that's about all it's good for.
