I absolutely LOVE when a low-ink or printer-friendly version of the PDF is bundled in with a purchase. It shows that the developer\designer really "gets it" and wants their game to get played.
Yes, I understand when these really artistic people want to do an artistic layout, but like you said, more people will play the game with a low-ink option included. I was a bit careless when buying a ton of games mostly to read, but now that I want to print them out to play them, it's going to be a big deciding factor going forward when choosing which game to buy. There's always more than one game to buy...
You'll probably do another video on this, but I'm curious, how do you solo DCC? I'm interested in DCC, but then I gravitate towards games designed to be played solo. If my RPG group hadn't disbanded, I would be picking up the box set of Delta Green.
I actually haven't soloed DCC yet. My plan is to run one of the solo funnels, and then probably scarlet hero whoever survives. It seems sacrilegious to not do the funnel. My thought right now is to try to do two characters, which means either run a funnel with 8 characters (!) or run it twice. I've found that I really dislike how when playing one character the story ends when they die
@@JAlanRykerGames I want to run that meat grinder of a session zero sooooo bad! Let fate decide who will become my next character. Let them rise from the mound of mangled of body parts that started out as friends and companions to become my champion. I hadn't thought about swapping systems after that... that's something to ponder...
@@milesdurkee4549 so scarlet heroes is its own setting, but it's really just an OSR that shifts around things to allow a single character to feasibly survive on their own. The creator ripped out those rules and provides them separately (for free!) as black streams: solo heroes to mod any OSR game pretty darn easily. So I think you could get that meatgrinder on poor level 0 souls effect, but upon level 1, they become heroic, and you apply these slight rule changes, but it still feels like DCC.
