It’s funny. I will never build one of these…..no land, no machines, and not smart enough. But I’m fascinated and impressed watching you build it. Great job and entertaining.
I found your channel by accident, I watched a video, then two, then three, I sat and binged watched every video you have. Then I subscribed.....Thanks for such great content.
People are so quick to comment not knowing the facts. Quite frankly, it’s got nothing to do with them. Do what suits you & your family. I love that the whole extended family came round to help. Love that your Dad & uncles joined in. Love that you’ve done it on minimal spend.. just found your channel and can’t wait to see how you find a solution to the water issue to then see the end result 😊
Can't believe you forgot the Time Capsule at the bottom of the pond... Amateur hour over here. Great stuff, was fun to watch the time lapse of all the effort! Looks AMAZING, and it better, as you put a lot of time into it.
You have a beautiful place. I know it’s hard work because me and my husband do most of the projects around our place. We were blessed with four boys that learned to work beside their dad. Now our boys are in their late twenty’s, early thirties and most of them still work for their dad. Someday in the near future will own and run our Electric Contractors business.
I love the pond build ! You have a vacation spot in your back yard !!.. although I built a pond and a swimming pool. Never underestimate a girl and a tractor....
Just saw you cost video. Must be our upbringing (Ohio farm boy), but my first thought when I saw a previous video of your creating the pond left me with one thought. This guy is smart. Before seeing your cost video, my thought was immediatey that you spent way less money than needed for a pool and is ending up with something that is much more exceptional. Good job and never let yourself be bothered by ugly comments. Some folks just have to feel better about themselves by derrogating others.
Doing a great job! Great idea! But..lol..to save yourself some heartache..you should install an overflow pipe, for those heavy rains we get from "atmospheric rivers". A bad one could tear out your sidewalk and cause ruts in your yard. Not criticizing your job, just trying to save you some future grief. As a kid, I lived on a farm, with a lake, with a pipe. It saved our dam many times! Good luck! Can't wait to see how it all comes out!
Looks great. Thanks for the tutorials about leveling vs sloping and making sure to check for crowns/humps and such. Nice tribute at the end. This is the song that popped in my head after I heard the news and went to post on Facebook yesterday morning. Seemed like it was/is fitting. Cheers to you, Jimmy, 'til we meet again. "Headin' out to San Francisco For the Labor Day weekend show. I got my Hush Puppies on, I guess I never was meant for glitter rock 'n roll. And honey, I didn't know that I'd be missin' you so, Come Monday, it'll be alright. Come Monday, I'll be holdin' you tight. I spent four lonely days in a brown L.A. haze, And I just want you back by my side."
I love that song as much too. Hearing Buffett songs instantly makes me think of vacation with family. Sad to think he's gone now. I struggled between using "Margaritaville" or "Come Monday". Especially since it was Labor Day weekend. Went with Margaritaville just cause the intro is so recognizable to most and I thought if I kept it under 10 seconds I wouldn't get demonitized. But alas, they caught it anyway so I had to edit the ending out and now anyone watching won't know what the Buffett comments are about! :)
@digdrivediy , I would have chosen Margaritaville, too. Definitely, more people recognize it. I was wondering if YT would do something. It was worth trying, and it was nice while it lasted.
The whole process looks great! Always getting nice! That little song at the end is a great touch Jimmy Buffett was a great singer my whole childhood I've heard him sing. May he rest in piece.
Yeah I'm going to trust a farmer on how to do landscape grading. Sorry you had haters on this project, but I'm glad you posted it as it's really coming along nicely.
You have another source of water flowing out of the roof gutters right next to the pond. Use some tubing to temporarily divert your gutters into the pond. Block off the far end of the gutter down spout to maximize what you capture. Overall it is not enough to finish the job, but why waste what you can get for free.
Neil where's the Water just kidding I know you are still working on that, the pond project looks absolutely beautiful from above it looks like a water tower layed on its side pretty kool super job on back filling and grading love your yellow Deere please keep us updated on the water fix please enjoy your Holiday weekend, as always love the channel!
Hi Neil It is not necessary that you have money or you are rich, what matters is your perfection and passion. But I liked your project and it gives practical insight for Civil engineers. But you should have considered Solar power for your entire house. Do consider, if the nature where you live gives an opportunity. Cheers mate
One inch is a good general rule of thumb, one inch on the flat areas, 34 to 1/2 of a inch on the slopes. The greater the slopes the less you need to set back the soil do to sessional sloughing
My wife and I stumbled across your channel a few days ago and love it for many reasons. We are Hoosier transplants to FL and miss the simple things such as the Indiana corn, soft grass, and the great people from the small towns (Fountain City and Richmond). Thanks for sharing! #Smalltownlife #Boilerup #Indianahome #Family #Hardwork
Those laser level’s are nice but Ive only ever used the old school transit with a tape measure lol. I’ve seen the laser used and they look pretty easy to use.
You could ice a cake with that front loader and Bruno!! Great work. You are totally neurotic and I LOVE it!!!! Perfection all around. Your place is beautiful.
Well I spoke to soon lol. 5 more minutes into the video you have the conduit under the concrete. It’s gonna be an awesome place to swim especially in our humid hot days as you know.
Just passing to say that you're truly blessed. What a beautiful family and loving work that you put into your household. I'm a father of two as well and my only wish is to see happy days with my family (I bet it is yours too)! May God keep blessing you all! (and I'll keep watching your home improvements as well). Cheers from Brazil!
Watched at a buddies house on Sunday and loved the tip of the can to old Jimmy Buffet. Watched today Monday evening and no tribute. Hope folks didn’t give you a hard time about it. Loved that from Yinz!
Such a cool project. I like how you showed the advanced method of grading along with the old school method. Laser vs grade board. You speak to two different groups of individuals. Great work and great video. Enjoy your Labor Day.
You can tell a lot about a person from the condition and cleanliness of their built environment and work gear - mechanical equipment and clothing! 100% impressed!!
Beautiful spectaluar results. I would put a survey concrete marker on walkway and bldg. directly above 2.5" PVC line for future use so that you do not need to search if you ever need access or want to dig in the area. This is as nice as I've seen. Ray Stormont
Nice pond/swimming area! Never let anyone tell you how to fulfill your dreams or what to do with your own money. It's no one's business but your own.
Looks great can’t wait to see it full of water 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍
Just saw your video-I’m wondering if people in swimsuits are going to start walking out of the corn field. “Build it, and they will come!”
That was a great movie…
Field of Speedos.
@@kmccontube...ppfffftttt! Uh huh... think bikini's... thongs .... then they'll come . Lol
I’m like, careful what you wish for. Not likely to be supermodels coming out of that corn haha
If he builds it, they will come

Seriously?! That's awesome. Thanks so much for watching and subbing!!!
Just finished the playlist and I loved it… thanks for taking time to film it and share it with us
I love watching his videos. It encourages me to purchase some land so I can start farming 🚜 🌽

What a fantastic finish to the video with the tribute to Jimmy Buffet. Truly an American treasure.
Hello from the Netherlands.

Thumbs up and see yous in next one lol
Looking good
👍👍👍😜🏴🦕🦄😁🤞✌️
Your finish grade looks perfect!
"COME MONDAY" was my favorite Jimmy song. Written on Labor day weekend I heard. Love your channel and all your hard work.
100 ft. of clear tubing and a couple of 5 ft. 1x2's and you have a old time laser level :) a water level. This is gonna look amazing when you finish.
Nice post Neil. Thank you for offering up a little chunk of your life.
You bet Mr. Greg! Have a good Holiday sir!

Insanely jealous of a) the pond and b) the toys...not jealous of the sheer effort though. Thanks for a good watch and some useful tips 👍
Nice buffet tribute there at the end sir. Happy Labor Day weekend to you and yours. Nice job 👍
Thanks. Enjoy your Labor Day as well!
I know "Farm life" is a LOT of HARD work. But you are having way too much fun! Thanks for the update.
Hope I get an invite when its done...I'll drive up from Dallas, j/k You have done a wonderful job sir!
Filthy rich bastard - 😂😘
Loved the video about being rich and this project documentation overall.
All the best!
Looking good!
RIP Jimmy ❤

That is gonna look so nice when the grass grows in!!!
Sure hope so! Now just keep the grass clippings off the sidewalk!!!
Looking fantastic guys.

The harder you work the luckier you are. You're a very lucky man. Keep putting in the hard yards.
Informative as usual good to see u using ur small tractor to finish off was worth the build to see it working 🚜
Sweet little box scrapper 👍👍
Another great video. I'm glad you're taking a break on Labor Day weekend you deserve it.
Great Video and knowledge!!
Good stuff, keep them coming
Love that you have big equipment to move dirt that most don't even have access to... makes easy work of heavy lifting.
All that hard work is paying off. It looks great. Keep up the good work.
This guy is a perfectionist who loves playing in the dirt.
That's the coolest looking concrete work. Awesome shape and that will be a really cool pond when it's all filled up. Subscribed.

Can’t rush a labor of love. This will all be here for a generation and the memories will last forever.

Yes I miss soft grass too. Not a fan of FL grass.
Thanks so much for watching! Glad to be a reminder for you.
Great video Neil, thanks for sharing
Wow, you are so rich. In heart & soul 😇
it was really cool to hear captain kleeman mention you on his channel. He has a lot of admiration for you.
He's a great guy. I admire him as well.
Looking good,I can't wait to see the pond full. Take care and God Bless!!!❤😊
Those laser level’s are nice but Ive only ever used the old school transit with a tape measure lol. I’ve seen the laser used and they look pretty easy to use.
I like it. Good job. Keep up the good work. Nice to have a peek into your life as well. Blessed...
Awesome family project
Nice work 👍🏻👍🏻
Very nice work!
That’s probably the most expensive and nicest pond I’ve ever saw!
Sweat equity is free..
You could ice a cake with that front loader and Bruno!! Great work. You are totally neurotic and I LOVE it!!!! Perfection all around. Your place is beautiful.
Great job, Neil! Thanks for explaining what you’re doing. I love your attention to detail!
I appreciate that!
Nice tribute at the end there for THE MAN of enjoying bodies of water. Come on rain! Fill this bad boy up so we can see the payoff!🍹
Well I spoke to soon lol. 5 more minutes into the video you have the conduit under the concrete. It’s gonna be an awesome place to swim especially in our humid hot days as you know.
Man, all that equipment looks so fun, I can't wait until I can do the same.
I've enjoyed watching the build of your pond I pray that it fills quickly for you!
Very pristine landscape!
A roller on the back of the grader would world a treat to finish the surface. Love the vid!
Just passing to say that you're truly blessed. What a beautiful family and loving work that you put into your household. Excellent pointers for finding the right grade! Helps us rookies out big time!
Great tutorial on elevation and grade. I learned a lot! Have a great weekend!!! Neil and family!! 👍👍👍👍
This finish looks good, now just need water to finish her off and maybe little fountain to keep water moving and fresh. As fresh as it can be anyway.
My grandfather has had a 755 forever. Great unit.
Awesome project. Thanks for the update. I miss the old school transits. I should have been born in a different century.

Great video! 💞
Love you guys. Don't ever change.
Awesome work, looking great 😅
This is awesome! Great work, should be proud.
