Silent day in Bali | How to prepare + my first Ogoh Ogoh parade

Hello everyone! 🇮🇩 today I share with you my experience during Nyepi or "Silent day", its an unique Hindu celebration where the island shuts down for 24 hours while we must stayed at home. I will share you some food tips and best places to see the famous "Ngrupuk" or Ogoh ogoh"parade.

After this experience, I fell even more in love with the culture of Bali and you? would you like to live it? 🥰
✨ Some notes to keep in mind:
- If you want to escape from it, you must travel at least 1 day in advance as most of the streets are closed before 4pm
one of the most popular destinations are Lombok or Gilli islands
- Some people say that there is no internet but we had wifi without problem!
- It is not necessary to be in the dark, but if you must close the curtains so that the light does not come out of the windows
- Even if it's tempting to leave the house, don't do it! since the Pecalang will be guarding the streets and they can fine you.
Lastly enjoy the tranquility and peace of the island, it is a unique festival and you are lucky enough to live it! 💕

Después de esta experiencia, me enamoré aún más de la cultura de Bali y tú? ¿Te gustaría vivirlo? 🇮🇩
✨ Algunas notas para tener en cuenta:
- Si quieres escapar de ella, debes viajar con al menos 1 dia de antelación ya que la mayoría de las calles se cierran antes de las 4pm
uno de los destinos preferidos es Lombok o Gilli islands
- Algunas personas dicen que no hay internet, nosotros tuvimos wifi sin problema!
- No es necesario estar a oscuras, pero si debes cerrar las cortinas para que la luz no salga de las ventanas
- Aunque sea tentador salir de casa, no lo hagas! ya que los Pecalang estarán custodiando las calles y te pueden multar.
Por ultimo dsfruta de la tranquilidad y paz de la isla, es una festividad única y tienes la suerte de vivirla! 💕

10years ago i watched ogoh-ogoh. and nyeppiday too. it is amazing experience.
i can heard just birds singing(i stayed in ubud)
luckyly i can watched milkyway. you too! but other place(denpasr etc) couldn't
you and your husband getting thin. and skin color changed.
your husband looks like almost indonesian haha. enjoy bali and stay healthy.

Holaaa linda! ☺️ Te cuento que no era un tamal pero si es común que sirvan la comida en hojas de plátano, inclusive te la dan para llevar envuelta en las hojas y se siente súper orgánico y natural jeje muchos besos hermosa! ~ 💖

I have been too Bali a few years ago with my parents and it was so beautiful. But what I found really sad was that the island's waste disposal system seems overwhelmed and therefore many areas are full of plastic waste

You're right! It's very sad to see such a beautiful paradise, with it's crystal clear beaches, full of garbage 😪 Now there are many people who gather and collect garbage around the island, promoting care for nature and it's amazing!, but I believe that in order to generate a greater impact, the change has to come from the government. Let's hope this change is soon! 💕🇲🇨
