- She is the Emmy-nominated, award-winning playwright who turned her attention to Patricia Highsmith's most personal novel, The Price of Salt, more than a decade ago, worked through a parade of talent that came and went, and ended up coming back to work with Todd Haynes on the film now known as Carol. She spoke to David Poland about that journey.

Absolutely fascinating interview. I grew up in the 50's and can identify with so much she talks about here. I'm so glad that she was a big part of this film and I feel it's going to be amazing. Looking forward to seeing it one day.

Noi tutti dobbiamo ringraziare Phillis Nagy per il suo straordinario impegno nel realizzare la sceneggiatura di Carol.Ho letto il libro di Pat Highsmith e devo riconoscere che, per me,è una delle rare volte in cui il film è stato più godibile rispetto al testo, ad es che Therese sia una fotografa e non una coreografa è stata una intuizione geniale e anche la parte della separazione tra Carol e Therese nel film è meno cupa e tormentosa rispetto al romanzo.ecc ecc , PHILLIS MERITAVI L'OSCAR.!!!

I was tricked into listening to this lex propaganda story thinking it was Highsmith, one of my favourite novelists. I don't need more bloody indoctrination

Tricked? Were u forced to watch the entire interview? Why don't u grow up and take responsibility for your own actions? No one is forcing u to watch anything, but u are blaming others for your own decisions and actions, though u are clearly a member of the majority as a (presumably) heterosexual man. You sound like a very young child who has learned only to blame others. Highsmith is one of my favorite 20th c novelists as well, and u cannot have read her other novels without learning she was a lesbian, as that is printed on the book jackets as a rule. You could use some "bloody indoctrination," sweetie.
