Oh gosh, I would love to! Many people around me have told me to move on, but with the right story, right time, and if Kenzie would be down to return, I would do it in a heartbeat! Thank you for appreciating those! Those were some of my favorite pieces to include. The vest was originally set to be her main costume piece, however, upon arrival McKenzie and I agreed the gray and black shirt fitted the film’s energy better.

Idk who chose the outfits of the actress, but they really managed to build a fashion personality in 12 minutes! I rarely give attention to those details, but her clothes are so well put together, coherent while being aesthetically pleasing, that I felt the need to say it !

Not knowing can be the scariest thing. And uncertainty is a great builder for suspense. The money is always in the chase, as they say. This short film was a good excercise in just that. Well done!

I love all of these horror short films for such a weird reason. They all capture such a raw and normal aesthetic, a lot of them are filmed in very humble locations (not in mansions or high quality high budget sets/locations) and it’s aesthetically pleasing to see places and houses that give off a nostalgic feeling for the middle class lifestyle I grew up with, especially night time scenes. Great work!
Yes! There’s a sort of unexplainable magic you can only achieve in a place that’s been lived in and that is in a middle-lower income area. There’s a life to it that’s hard to achieve if one had to create something like that from scratch through production design. Thank you so much for your comment and support! I always must remember to lock my door when I leave my condo as I go on my errands or some strange person might come in. But when you have a doorman that doubles up as a security personnel, then all is good and safer than if you live in a typical apartment building.

Well, they did watch the whole day (albeit some fast forwarded) and he wasn’t on the footage. It does make one think how he showed up on the footage later…

@@proudmuslim8456 Hi! So, it sounds like the ending really confused you. Totally understandable! I purposefully wasn’t super clear with much to leave it open-ended for viewer interpretation.
The best way to simply sum up the ending would be: Charlotte seems to have had a nightmare, and after she realizes this she prepares for her day; only to hear her closet being opened by someone or something! We then see surveillance footage with content that we haven’t seen before. Is that the real footage? Was Lulu hiding something? Was Charlotte dreaming again? That’s for you to decide what you believe most.

In my childhood, when me and my mother goes to school (she was teacher), she double checks and ask me repeatedly wheather the front door is locked. I used to laugh because the house was located in a trusted neighborhood and well away from roadways. But seeing this short, Now I know why..

Where do the producers and directors hide the cameras ?
Hi! Many camera positions and angles were carefully planned to give a voyeuristic feel to the film. The surveillance footage shots were achieved using the highest position possible with a tall tripod. (It also doesn’t hurt that the cinematographer is six feet tall!)

When I was little may be 7 my father once left the front door opened. Early morning he checked house for an intruder but everything was good but after that incident one morning many appliances were missing😂it was a thief . After that day we lock every single door in our house when we go outside.

@@MichaelJosephSmithOfficial actually he came inside and did his research even he made a key of main entrance . He came back after few days and took many things. Yes no one was hurt. It was my late grandmom who told us about the theif and missing things. It was really scary. We changed main gate and lock also. I still remember his footprints it was a dark rainy day. I became famous in school also after that incident. 😂And I love this movie also.

She unblocked her ex the previous night accidentally when she was drunk which she took it easy in the morning. She also was careless in locking the door may be due to hangover. But in the evening when she finds the unlocked door everything unfolds because of her trauma. But can anyone explain the footage shown in the end credit?
Thanks for the support on UNLOCKED! The footage found at the end of the film is ambiguous and open-ended on purpose. There is no set answer to what this can mean. Personally, I have my thought on what happens next, but revealing that would spoil the ability for viewers to interpret the meaning and infer what could happen next.

I watched it carefully and attentively. This may be "a style" or "your style," but there were so many loose ends. I found it very unsatisfying. Is this type of storytelling a thing? Did the production have to be rushed in any way to meet a deadline that contributed to this final edit? Did you have ideas you didn't have time to flesh out?
Hey there! I think some of the dissatisfaction is possibly due to style preference. I do try to fight against spoon feeding my stories, and sometimes can go a little too heavy on the ambiguity. I do love all of my projects and wish they could all be features with sequels and prequels and more characters, but at this point in my career it’s not an option for me.
We didn’t rush the production, and my co-director encouraged me not to put the project out until it was ready. We actually did do additional days of reshooting to make the story more cohesive. But yes, I did leave multiple open ends for viewer interpretation. I like to leave my audience thinking after the credits.

I believe one should be able to make a short film without so much ambiguity and so many loose ends. And for you to characterize that as "I like to leave my audience thinking" seems like you're giving yourself an excuse for a poorly thought out story. I guess this might appeal to teenagers who tend to like jump scares and such, but for the quality of lighting and direction here, your story just doesn't measure up, IMO. Do you have other films you can recommend that are less ambiguous?
@@Veeter99 I definitely did not have any poor intentions with my words, so I apologize if I offended. I simply meant that I often find myself enjoying films where I have to think about multiple aspects and am not on a linear journey with everything clearly presented to me. I love contemplating elements that haven’t been fully expanded upon or things that maintain a level of mystery. However, I completely understand that preferences differ. UNLOCKED is a very simple story, in my opinion, and we didn’t set out to revolutionize the genre or anything. We had no budget and had a story to tell.
I do highly recommend my survival film GREEN. It’s my most recent release and is much more straightforward. I would greatly appreciate feedback on that project if you end up viewing it!
