They used effective hunting techniques against humans the way hunters would use them against wild game. A lot of thought went into this. Thank you so much for posting.
I had a friend in college who was from Plainfield WI (USA). It's a nice small Midwestern town. It just happens to be where Ed Gein was from. Across the road from my friends' grandparents farm was an abandoned farm. While riding a motor scooter around that property,at sunset, the hairs on the back of neck would stand up and I feel a real creepiness. One of the characters from the movie Silence of the Lambs was based on Ed Gein. My friend Todd told me that his grandparents had known Ed. I don't know if he had lived across that road or not.
They guy who killed women and made clothes and furniture from them?!? OMG FRIEND WHAT?!? Please, more. (Bailey Sarian did a great video on Ed. Holy nutbags, he was crazy!) Also, someone made a musical about him. Not kidding. Haven’t decided how I feel about it…
This is pretty much why when we moved to a peaceful & quiet, sparsely populated area to retire without neighbors, we didn't opt for a secluded woodland retreat. We found a one stoplight town and a Victorian formerly owned by lawyers, judges, and a police chief on the edge of the courthouse square, nestled between the county sheriff and the state patrol. 😉Great short film! Well shot, directed, and acted. Bravo!
This ain't a supernatural, it's a thriller. I've fallen to this because of you saying it's a supernatural and thriller is never my thingy. But I don't mind since the presentation was unique, love the creativity. Only wish this has that blair witch kinda vibe but turned up it's just another thriller movie.
Very well done. Loved that added details, the ring specifically, that elevated the film above a simple jump scare flick. If I may, this isn't criticism, but I would like to make kind of a suggestion. While there are times people get away clean, authorities are baffled, "without a trace." Storytelling wise, you'd think there would be some cost for such violence. That ring could have been the "clue" to trigger someone's intuition something very, very wrong is going on. And lead to the sequel I really want to see.
Here is an interesting tidbit; please forgive me if someone else has already pointed it out. The sound made by the killers is that of a white-tail doe when she calls her fawn(s) to her.
thank you for clearing that up for me. I was wondering why this movie was called Whitetail. here in Australia we have a flesh eating spider called Whitetails. I was waiting for one to attack them.. lol
My friend you can put any kind of interesting tidbit you want. Even if somebody else has already said it. You do you my friend! And never, I repeat, never apologize.
Wow! For 15 mins you had me on the edge of my seat. Excellent camera work and acting. The actress was really good. I was totally creeped out watching. Well done!
This was an awesome movie. I was at the edge of my seat and had no idea of who was the killer or killers. This was so suspenseful look forward to whatever short movies, or even better full length movies that you provide. Thank you.
13:34 right here I was thinking, wouldn’t it be amazing if the plot twist was these people were the hunters and the couples heads we’re hanging on the wall instead of deer! Thinking this was on TH-cam, it couldn’t possibly end like that! Absolutely loved the plot twist
I own quite a few of them. And I never even walk out onto my 20-acre property without protection. And because I live in Texas, anytime I go south towards the border, I take multiple protection items if you catch my drift.
That was one of the most truly suspenseful short films I’ve seen. Great job! Although, I would’ve been happy if it would’ve ended just after the knife struck. Everything after that felt unnecessary. But loved it. Keep up the great work!
The part where the knife was slowing going up and then it frozen, I felt like the woman, helpless to stop the inevitable horror, but desperately hoping it wouldn't happen, but then knowing it would, trapped.
I sure as hell hope this isn’t autobiographical. After all, there are twisted hillbillies out there just like this. Just drive the valley towns of West Virginia and you’ll see exactly what I mean-you’ll be searching for an interstate like your life depended on it…and it may very well have.
Well done and frightening. I am not a hunter. But as a vet, you never stand still in a setting that is suspicious and you keep on moving. The young man stood still and it cost him.
Yikes . . . very nicely done and truly horrifying! A combination of the full feature films "Calibre" by Matt Palmer and "Jeepers Creepers" By Victor Salva. Calibre is also a hunting trip movie and the ending has that "Jeepers Creepers" thing going on. Definitely some "Texas Chainsaw . . . " going on too. Splendidly done in under 16m!
Really unique, liked the mystery. Finally we see it's a "Dilevarence" horror. Creepy last scene; mama with her two twisted sons, knitting. Great mind bender.
Very creepy, I have always hear that the most creepy things in this earth are humans. The place is perfect for relaxation and so peaceful beautiful, and enchanting. But there's danger in the woods. I think this short movie is based in true stories. As there is always people disappearing in all kinds of places.
Very nice; my only gripe is that some of the bird sounds (the cardinal and the woodpecker drumming) are probably only heard in the spring and summer. To me they sounded really out of place and marred the atmosphere a little.
Excellent!
The way the director has used silence is amazing.
Agree!
Sad, subtle and creepy
Keeping the details hidden for so long made the tension unbelievable in this short film. Wow!
Thank you!
@@JoshMinyard Is this a morality tale against hunting? Cause I totally agree and you're very cut by the way
WHAT details?!?
Every moment as the movie was progressing my stomach was churning with the suspense. It has that excellant effect.
Beautiful cinematography, amazing acting, and well-executed tension build-up! Loved it!
A hunting trip doesn't go as planned . . .
. . . and another one does.
LOL
I was hoping for some type of human like deer creature hunting them but I guess the old 1980’s psycho killer family is a solid trope that works.
My thoughts exactly! I was waiting for her to rip off that mask and reveal some sort of deer creature!
It was horror-wise fun! Too bad it was sooo short. I wish you made more of it! Please!
They used effective hunting techniques against humans the way hunters would use them against wild game.
A lot of thought went into this. Thank you so much for posting.
Five-star horror short right here.

I just finished it. You called it! These are Gein relatives! lol Amazing short. Creeeepy!
That was f*@#$& up! My anxiety was goin through the roof!
Great job!
This was so good. That ending was totally unexpected. Thanks!
I thought that they were being hunted by vegans!
@@Slynsmiley 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂👍👍👍👍👍👍👍!!!
So the big twist is, the killers are old or what am I missing here? Maybe well done cinematography-wise, but what a boring script
Whoaaa was not expecting that at the end. This was good and sad at the same time.
What an incredible piece of work!! This film should have been a full length movie !!! Bravo!

You planned and chose well! Lol Stay safe!
Great job cast and crew. The title is misleading I was waiting for That Buck to come the wall. Supernatural. Just the woods have eyes.
I thought for sure this was going to be about some deer getting payback on humans. Oh well they still got their revenge

The sound mix is amazing, especially the quiet scenes in the forest. Well done.
I LOVED THIS! I love how the couple and the killers are one on the same. The HUNT for the THRILL!
Now that was awesome. Great story line, acting and suspense. Loved it
Well done to all involved. Lots of horror and suspense. It's amazing how much can be crammed into such a short movie.
Nightmare fuel! Exactly my worst fear in the woods. *shivers*
Horror can be like a sad anime, and in this case; its about how humans can hunt each other.. Hats off again, cuz its true. Ending song did it.
Very well done. This should have way more views.
Wonderful! High tension, scary moment, wonderful location and lights... And super super scary ending! Brrhh.... With all my compliments!
Fantastic sound design - every moment was so enhanced, made it very tense! This is a great short.
Great work . The ending was so unexpected!!
This was so well done! Gut wrenching!
Very well done. Loved that added details, the ring specifically, that elevated the film above a simple jump scare flick.

Great juxtaposition using the cheerful song in the closing credits!
this was brutal, fantastic job done on this short. well done to everyone involved in this production.
That was amazing to watch, can’t wait for more from you.
This was amazing. I was on the edge of my seat! LOVED it!
Absolutely brutal and superbly done. Loved the wood sounds birdsong, woodpecker and crows. Brings to mind "Jeepers Creepers, 2003."

Hence the title 🙄

Actress was amazing. Director and sound engineer really created a great environment
Impressive. This was shot very well.
Props for some real sweet snappy tunes!
Congratulations mate, good job
I wonder how many times these sorts of things happen in the American woods.
wonderfully done.
but man i was sick with sadness halfway through
Well done 👍🏽. A story crafted to complete the plot within the allotted time, without the need to say more.
EXCELLENT ON VERY LEVEL. LOVED IT. LOVED THE MALE LEAD ACTOR. VERY HANDSOME.
No fancy gimiks, No scare jumps just pure realistic horror. 🖤
This was an awesome movie. I was at the edge of my seat and had no idea of who was the killer or killers. This was so suspenseful look forward to whatever short movies, or even better full length movies that you provide. Thank you.
That one is terrifying on several pattern, cheers !
different take on hunting enjoyed that shortie

Absolutely loved the plot twist
The famous line "the hunter became the hunted" and their heads ended up as trophies.
fucking kills me how people live in the outskirts of town or wood/forest and no firearm protection just unreal but in the real world thats what we do
You need guns more if you live in the city.
I own quite a few of them. And I never even walk out onto my 20-acre property without protection. And because I live in Texas, anytime I go south towards the border, I take multiple protection items if you catch my drift.
I would just adopt a bear

Wow 😮 that was really something. Enjoyed very much so thank you and keep it up!
Yikes.... brilliant. Very well done. More please. Ax
Talk about a tension builder! 👀 This was magnificent, dear.🦌
Love this ! Simply Awesome !
Undoubtedly it was great short movie. Everything was perfect
I guess these are descendants of the Texas Chainsaw family. Very well done! Cheers. .
Great acting, and horrifying, too scary that something like this could happen.
love forest horror movies
O melhor que assisti por aqui em ANOS! Parabéns!

Knowing that something like this can happen in real time has me completely spooked......🥰

Damn good short film. Wow, it was intense that the ending will stay with me forever!!! 💯%
Outstanding. This actually made me jump, cringe, and almost cry.
Thank you! Emotion, that's what it's all about

Great job! I really enjoyed this!
It was put together very well..acting was top notched.
story good, but sad, brilliant actors, and the ending - use your own imagination. well done for such a short movie
Intense, subtle and incredibly sad

Don't praise ANYTHING by that pedophile
Mixed with a little " Antlers" gore and psychological hysteria
This was great. I enjoyed it. Thanks for the hard work!
Thank you!
Dont mess with the locals
Loved this! Would love to see it as a full feature film developed further. Bravo
Loved every second! 🌟👏 Keep up the great work! 🎬 Any behind-the-scenes footage?
Very scary and the film gave me some Ed Gein vibes! ❤
Really unique, liked the mystery. Finally we see it's a "Dilevarence" horror. Creepy last scene; mama with her two twisted sons, knitting. Great mind bender.
What was the motive? Just a random random killing of two people? I must've missed it. Love the bird sounds.
The motive is clear, they're hunters but they hunt people
Wow that was crazy!!!!
Ring on the porch was diabolical 💀
Man some of these films would make great movies

Does not matter. It had the effect, just the same.
9/10 never going into the woods again
Creepy as F! Well done.
That was really good 👍. Definitely 10/10, worth watching 😊. ❤ from Australia.
OH NO, THAT WAS SAD AND HE IS SO CUTE. WHERE THEY HELD THAT KNIFE UP SO LONG WAS TERRIFYING!
Not bad...like to see the ghouls winning ! Great camera work as well!
