    I have a red one. The mileage range is not an issue for me. I am retired and don’t drive much. Perfect car! Her name is ladybug.

    People who criticize this car due to its range don't understand the buyer for this car however mini certainly does. Urban professionals who have a gas vehicle or long range EV for longer distanced will buy this car to scoot around town where gas and parking is at a premium. It's gorgeous, fun to drive, and is the perfect second vehicle for city folks. Range is no big deal when you drive max 10 miles a day. Just charge it overnight and you are good to go.

    With AC, uphills, highway accelerations and cold weather, you will be lucky to get 85 miles out of it! I have been driving an EV for 4 years now, manufacturers’s range can’t be trusted, usually take off 20% will be more accurate. Even with the 115 range, I can’t even make it from OC to LA.

    My only question is when the 2025 comes out can you swap the battery for more range 😂

    What happened to the range boost they told us about

    Looks good but with a 100 mile runtime, it will never be taken seriously.

    I’ve had two different MINI S models from brand new for the last 16 years. I’ve really loved both a lot, despite their not having much space if you try to fit 3 or 4 people in. I’m right at the point where I’m probably going to get another new car, and would like to get a MINI SE. But I’m VERY nervous about the idea. The range of only around 149 miles on a full charge in optimal consultings worries me a little. And although I rarely drive any faster than maybe 80 mph max, the max speed of 93 with the MINI SE doesn’t leave much more choice if I really need to hit the accelerator on the freeway in an emergency. I also test drove a BMW i3 a few years back, and it took a very long time to get the AC going with the way the battery worked in that. I live in Florida, so especially in the summers that’s a big problem, unless it’s now better in these MINI models. I do know the engine in these is essentially the same as the BMW i3 though. Another thing with these is the regenerative braking, which at least when I drove the i3 meant that when you took your foot off the accelerator, you essentially would instantly stop, like you slammed on the brakes. So when approaching say a stop sign, you keep your foot on the accelerator! THAT is so counterintuitive for anyone who has been driving longer than 1-2 years, and I’m 44. I live in a large metro area of 2.7 million, so finding charging stations I think I’d be okay with. But if I drove to some cities in the same state, I couldn’t even make it the whole way without stopping to charge for 36 minutes. So…jury is still out for me. I’m MUCH more prone to go ahead with it now over 3 years ago when they were first introduced. I’m an environmentalist and really want to get on board with an EV, but there are aspects of them still that I’m a little uncomfortable with.

      The new 2024 Mini electric Cooper S (the model with the new circular OLED display) I think will have possibly 249 mile range. I was put off by the awful range of the present models but I’m seriously considering the new one towards the end of next year.

      I have a '23 SE and since I never go on long road trips (only puttering around town and daily errands), the range has not been an issue in the year I have owned the car. Plus I have level 2 charging at home (a must!) so I'm always charged up. My SE is very similar to the one in the video (Iconic trim) except for colors (I have the white lounge leather interior instead of the brown "malt" -- love it!). So fast, responsive and fun. (And yes, I'm thinking of trading in when the new version with increased range comes out). No regrets!

    I am a MINI salesman and I can tell you that this one is selling fast I don't even have enough cars to sell, my waiting list is long and there is nothing I can do to increase the production

  • @JamesMancuso-jd8ft
    @JamesMancuso-jd8ft ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I guess with that kind of range they don't want to actually sell many

    • @mortyjansen399
      @mortyjansen399 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well they have sold many. -you see the electric version of this everywhere, but strangely they did not expand on the battery and the new model is not - i think - going to be as popular.

    PATHETIC! Nearly $40k for 100 mile s of range! There’s a sucker born everyday they say!

    • @shib9315
      @shib9315 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah they need to get at least to the 150 mile range , but the mini is very cool looking ( At least to me ) and if you are just driving each day locally and just going to plug it in each night then it may be an option..

    • @tkusterb

      It's not all about the range, folks. I never drive more than 5-10 miles per day and charge my SE only once, maybe twice, per week. Fast, comfortable, nimble, excellent fit/finish. Best car I've ever owned.
