He was a very happy man. I had the great fortune to meet my "cousin" Roy, and he was so personable and charming that he was amusing sitting across the table from him.
Check out his version of Johnny Cash's Folsom Prison Blues or Check out him and Johnny Cash doing The Orange Blossom Special. You wouldn't be disappointed. Great reaction
You haven't seen him do anything yet. He's not just a wizard on the 6 strings. He's a wizard on anything with strings, including a fiddle. That's all folks!
Grew up watching and listening to Roy Clark and Buck Owens. They contacted my father, requesting him to play , as a hired guitar, when they came to Maryland. Dad, the rock that held our family together, died 3 days after his June 21'st birthday in 2015. I'll never get over the loss of the man I looked up to so much and who loved me and my late sister, Ginger.
I've never seen a better guitar player...love watching the reaction.. Not that it matters, I am just curious, why you have a jar of mayonnaise sitting behind you....well that's what it looks like..
I smiled the whole time watching your reaction to Roy Clark. What a amazing thing to see, someone so young, appreciating a master. Love, love, love your channel! Bless your heart!
He’s feeling it. My dad is a great player and singer! He can’t read music but can listen to a song and pick it up in no time. It was so amazing to grow up with this joy of music
Just found your channel and I subscribed. I grew up watching Roy Clark on the HeHaaaw TV show. Which I strongly suggest you watch a few shows. You'll get a kick out of Grandpa Jones on the show he's another great banjo player. Looking forward to more of your videos.
He's better than Eddie Van Halen, Edgar Winter, etc., on the guitar! Folsom Prison is the best...freight train & gun sound he does. WOW! Keep on showing his stuff. Thanks Michael.
Also check out Buck Trent, Lester Flatt, and Earl Scruggs... All banjo players. Roy Clark could hold his own with them as well. Interesting side note: my wife is related to Roy Clark.
That was the Johnny Cash show back in the late 60's. About the time June Carter, ( Johnny's wife) was pregnant with their first child together......a BOY.
I always loved watching his rendition of “The Great Pretender” it showcases his comedic side, along with his musical brilliance. th-cam.com/video/Kvpfcdx6E9M/w-d-xo.htmlsi=1K_ATWsSyV2kBuvU Orange Blossom Special and Dueling Banjos are classics, but I’m sure you’ve already done those.
Back in the day, Nudie Cohn was world renowned for his glittering designs in western wear. In country music, you’d made it when you took the stage in a Nudie suit.
Roy could put strings on a dog......and not only could he play it, whatever he played would still sound better than 90% of people playing on a guitar. Roy could play anything with strings on it, and better than most anyone. He learned on a 2 string banjo as a kid, and when he could keep up with his adult neighbor his dad figured it was time to get him a proper banjo.
He was fantastic on the guitar…..but if you haven’t heard him play the violin, he turns it into a fiddle…..check out Roy Clark playing Orange Blossom Special! Even my country western HATING son loves it! No one outdo’s Roy!!! I miss him,!!
Roy just might be the best guitar and Bangor player of all time!!✌️🇺🇲
give him a stringed instrument and away he goes, he was a master!

That's all folks!
My eyes kept going back and forth between the hand that was strumming and the hand on the frets. I especially love watching Roy on the banjo!
Not strumming.
The 60s, 70s and some 80s had some of the absolute BEST music/musicians that we will ever hear.
I believe this song is 12th Street Rag
Roy was one of a kind I think they broke the mold when he plays. My favorite is Thank got and greyhound your gone

I met him Minnie pearl, and the cast of hee haw as a kid. He plays steel guitar even better
That's Cool 😎 Minnie Pearl was very cool, my mom called me pearl when I was young because of my pearl colerd hair 👍
I could definately envision a lot of cartoon action! 🤪
Roy was amazingly entertaining.
Roy is the GOAT!
Brilliant musician unlike so many of today’s overpaid ego trippers.
Eddie Van Halen was asked "What's it like to be the greatest guitarist in the world" He replied "I dunno, you'd have to ask Roy Clark."
Try "King Crimson - Frame By Frame" not my personal fav song ever, but very impressive guitarwork
My fav from Mickael Jackson are Stranger in Moscow, Liberian Girl, The Girl is Mind..react on that
And remember, this was pretty much all groundbreaking stuff on these instruments. Nobody to learn from.
I've never seen a better guitar player...love watching the reaction..
Not that it matters, I am just curious, why you have a jar of mayonnaise sitting behind you....well that's what it looks like..
Im VERY familiar with Roy..
If you think this is awesome !!!
Check out Roy Clark playing MALAGUENA ..!!
He will WOW you beyond belief.
He always closed his eyes and if you watch close his mouth is moving along with the picking

TH-cam has clips from the Hee Haw show. You may have already seen some but for everyone one else, great yourself and view a few.
He’s feeling it. My dad is a great player and singer! He can’t read music but can listen to a song and pick it up in no time. It was so amazing to grow up with this joy of music
Love to watch him play, and the facial expressions show that he has a great love for what he does.
Nice reaction and that Mayonnaise jar is too straight.
As soon as you mentioned cartoons i could do nothing other than pucture elmer fudd chasing around bugs bunny.
I remember seeing him on tv in the 70's and I didn't know about him. I was awe struck, nobody could play like him, a true legend.
Cool. I didn't even know he played guitar. 😄 I only know him from his fantastic version of Yesterday, When I Was Young
Never had lesson one. Pure god given talent.
That was on Johnny Cash's TV Show.
Yesterday When I Was Young is a song that shows how great of a singer he was.
I saw him play stairway to heaven and it was great
Michael, Roy Clark was very entertaining when I used to watch him on TV Country Music Shows. He was fantastic.

I'm sixty four years old. Back then Roy was considered one of the best Guitar Players in the world.
He was Right up there with Hendrix and Clapton.
He had a great sense of humor. The kinda guy you’d want at your bbq. Nice guy all around.
Have u reviewed Lovebites .. they will rock you
No I haven’t! I’ll look into them!
Name of that tune is "12th Street Rag" written by Euday L. Bowman in 1914. You're welcome.
Please watch roys guitar boogie ,never seen hands move so fast 😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
He's better than Eddie Van Halen, Edgar Winter, etc., on the guitar!
Folsom Prison is the best...freight train & gun sound he does.
WOW!

12th Street Rag
The facial expressions...a window into his mind. He was always enjoying what he did. Watch his shtick on HeeHaw with Nurse Goodbody :)
He was fantastic. Remember his performances were done live on TV. If you haven't seen his version of the Maiaguena it is unbelievable.
You really need to check out - Roy Clark - Malaguena (The Odd Couple) ... It also sounds a little like something from the Benny Hill Show.
Roy Clark get my vote for greatest guitar player ever. Dude didn't miss a single note.
This is good entertaining, you haven't seen anything yet. Young people could learn from Roy Clark.
Between the smirk and the uptempo sound, this reminds me WAY too much of Benny Hill and Yakkety Sax.
Check out Glen Campbell he was good friends with Roy Clark
Roy was the man when it came to guitar and banjo playjng! The best ever!! RIP dear Roy🤗
And the fiddle/violin. And the mandolin!
Eddie Van Halen said Roy Clark is the GOAT! Hands down 🤯👍😸
Back in the day, Nudie Cohn was world renowned for his glittering designs in western wear. In country music, you’d made it when you took the stage in a Nudie suit.
My favorite Roy Clark song is Family Man but I can't find it on utube. If you can locate it please listen to it that was a great song.
Thank God and greyhound you gone is my absolutely favor . You should listen to that
He was also a great singer. Do yourself a favor, listen "Yesterday When I Was Young"

Just how many guitarists today could do what he does?
Pretty close would most likely be Steve Morse.
Plays banjo, mandolin and fiddle just as well!

This piece is a "rag".
That song is the 12th Street Rag.
"I Never Picked Cotton" and "Yesterday When I Was Young"
He was also a gifted vocalist. Check out "Yesterday".
You know I've seen so much of him on TH-cam and every time not only is your jaw on the floor.. he just melts your face
You should hear him playing two songs at the same time! Totally awesome!!
My Dad loved Roy, and i loved my Dad, to bad they are both gone.
And he did it wearing that outfit.
WHY IS THERE MAYO ON THE SOFA?
