Heard “The Gate” last night on Twitch - best track I’ve heard in eons - but I was that goth teenager in 1985. This track is aka “We’ve got a fuzzbox & we’re gonna use it” - who were a lot of fun too!
I have made it available on iTunes and Amazon mp3. We hope to rerelease the 1985 Naked and the Dead material soon on the new Curse of the Hearse record label, CD and vinyl.

@BlameNihilism I love the lyrics for this song, in particular. I'm not sure who wrote most of them, but I think you could probably ask GreenGerg (guitarist for this band).
@BlameNihilism The former singer (and my ex-wife) Lorianne Oakley wrote all of the lyrics for the 1985 edition of the band, including this song, which she composed in March 1985 as we were starting to form. In the 2002 reformed version of the band, and since then, all lyrics are written by vocalist Julia Ghoulia. The band is on indefinite hiatus but hopes to record again eventually, when we're on the same continent. ;)
Ok ok I thought so but I saw some other comments about it being Gothic but I was thinking this has more of a Punk sound then dark wave. But love both. Haha. Thanks for the reply
1st time I heard of them Reminded me of Skeletal Family from the U.K,Love it.
They sound a little punk on the guitar. I can see punk’s slam dancing to it but I know they are Gothic.,Love it

This is excellent punk rock/post-punk! Anyone who digs this should check out Masquerade from Finland. This kicks ass!

My fucking EARS. YES
new to me, this has got something, great listen.
Skitters through bell towers
Glints of cellophane cut glass
Relics vibrate gothic power
To catacombs of the suffered lass
Among the faithed, the evil lurks
Through punishment his glory shines
Fearing hellish ecstasy
Her mother's fiendish passion grinds
Cassandra, get down on your knees
And take your candle, burning bright
Singe your flesh, for you have strayed
Take penance to the savior's light
Mother flogs you at your pew
And beats messiah through your skull
Blood-filled holy water fonts
Her head swings down and vision dull
Cassandra sees thе wrath of God
She walks on blessed holy land
Raisеd little Cassie through found faith
And beats her skull with scarry hands

Are they considered Goth or Punk Rock? I love it but not sure if they are punk or goth band? The guitars sound more punk rock but they may be goth.
