There's been an increased interest recently in this setup lately for sure. You should post some videos of your setup, or let me know if you've got an Instagram. Thanks!
Sort-of. The plow comes with a sub-frame that mounts to the front of the tractor where a weight bracket would attach, then runs the length of the tractor and bolts to the draw bar. But, this is all included with the plow. If you had a front 3-Point Hitch, you could order the same plow to mount to that, but on 4/5 series tractors, the most "stable" way to run a Metal Pless plow is to use the sub-frame.
@@MetalPlessNick Can that plow be made to drop slower? It looks to me that it takes a lot of beating while being dropped down to plow. If not, how does it perform, in other words what is the life expectancy?
@@vrcun Yes, it's controlled with the loader lift on the tractor, so you can control the drop rate on most tractors. Also, you could add an in-line valve in the system to control the drop rate that way. Do you follow me on Instagram? (RDONickA). I just posted a reel last week comparing a brand new unit like this to a 3 year old plow with 800+ hours. The carbide cutting edges still have a few years left -- I'd expect the cutting edges alone to last 1,500 ish hours, so this plow has a long life ahead of it (as long as it it's damaged running into objects!)
@@MetalPlessNick we run couple 1042-18 on wheel loaders. We like them, but are thinking to move onto ag machines in the future, not entirely, but for sure we're thinking of it. I heard that productivity on ags is very similar to loaders, just the stacking needs a help from a loader if one wants to stack high, which is understandable. I don't have Instagrams, so I can't follow there. I do have a fb tho if that's an option.
Been using this setup for years! I love it. Careful plowing into piles boxed up

those 5 series are crazy strong!
Great video! Love the 5125r JD.
That blower can throw some snow
Do you have to purchase a special hitch to mount it on the front?

Is that LE MP?
Yes. 10-16 with LiveEdge.
