Losing Coach Brown was the death song for the Warriors. 2 years ago when he was there they were the leagues number 1 defense. The 2 years after they have gone from bad to horrific. On a side note, if that 3 player trade does go through the Warriors would be making out like bandits. If Otto is healthy he's a true X factor. Dennis is a solid player as well and we know Siakam will do damage. I doubt the Raptors go through with anything like that though.The Utah trade looks good on paper but the 3 Jazz players are all questionable defensively.
This is a better trade for the Dubs than the second option, though I feel Moody, Podz, and JK are the future. They need development not to be shipped off.

@@SDesWriter this is not a mediocre team. They've just had serious bad luck and have been underperforming up until now. The fact they kept it close vs. Bucks up until late in Q4 WITHOUT CURRY is very promising (especially when said Wiggins only gave you 7 meager points in 34 minutes 😉). 😊

The warriors are the team that made me like basketball again. But at this point you offer up Klay, Wiggins, Draymond, and if need be Looney. You do not give up the young players who are actually doing good and are on cheaper contracts. You trade the players that have diminishing returns and high contracts.

Both of those scenarios involve Wiggins as a key piece, with his contract being the biggest piece. Why would either of those teams take Wiggins and his extended (read: non-expiring) contract? They're not blind; they are well aware how destructive (to his own team) his play has been.
Anything for Lauri tbh...perfect fit. Even if the depth gets a huge hit, it doesn't matter, this roster isn't going anywhere. We have this and the next year at most of a Steph window.

That jazz trade is what the warriors need we need another big in the line up that can get to the rim but also shoot if necessary i think offering up Klay would be a better option then moody or kamingia.

"Steph's campionship window" should remain warriors priority until his scoring dips bellow 25 ppg. I dont care if you trade every Kuminga, Moody, Klay, Dray...everyone is on the table as long as the team stays competative and built around Steph. NOONE CARES what the warriors looks like after Steph. Not even GS fans. They only showed up when Steph came into his anyway. So that's all that matters.
Steve Kerr is not on top of everything that is going on with his players.. The vets except for Steph are not committed to winning. so many inconsistencies... their defense is a total mess...
Why would any team take Wiggins? That contract is a non-starter for virtually every single trade.

Markkanen & Olynik please!!! They know how to play motion offense, they're both 7ft ( Olynik might be 6'11" ) Olynik is a grinder and they can both shoot. Plus Markkanen is a top tier scorer who can get his own buckets.

I honestly don't see any other teams wanting Wiggins. In fact, you straight up say "he isn't here anymore" and "lost his passion for basketball." Moody and Kuminga maybe though I don't know if Moody has seen enough play time this year to show his worth. Chris Paul? Is someone really going to want him now?
Warriors' problem will be solved by trading again with the Wizards for Daniel Gafford (a true center, agile and consistent rebounder and blocker) and Kyle Kuzma (a 3-level scorer, good passer and rebounder). Also, replace Kerr with Mike Budenholzer (a more defensive mindset coach).

It's less about the big names and more about the attitude of the players. If they have the mojo and will to win 🏆
We always focus on the big name trade when maybe the solution lies in a addition by substraction type of deal where Wiggins goes out and we get multiple useful but not All Star level pieces whose contribution added up is bigger than Wiggins. That would be a win trade too and last year the Lakers did exactly that.

Even though the Warriors would have a big advantage with Lauri, the OKC would be doing even better than they are doing already. If I were in charge of the OKC I would trade Josh Giddy and 5 first round picks for Lauri.

at this point, I would trade klay, wiggins and draymond green. I would put them in the trade block and wait and see what can I get from them. trying to "maximise" Steph's window seems to me like a desperate move that leads nowhere. He's playing really well, but with this team he cannot reach the play-offs. I would forget about play-offs this year and let kuminga, tjd and pod to play more. next year with a hardened kuminga and pod plus some young talent the team could make some noise.i would not trade the youth with talent for a "maybe we can make some noise now" kinda thing...
I wouldnt trade dray for now his iq is Hard to fine, so until that moment i would keep him, for me the clear package is klay, wiggins, cp3, and looney, i would keep dray because is still a help when he is playing, and getting siakam would make the formation taller and would help for the rotations with tjd, so you could move freely kuminga on the 2 or the 3 depending on if you are putting podz, while also gives moody play time based on that rotation

Losing the young talents would mean GSW doesn't have anyone else after the Curry, Thompson, & Green.
Podz, Moody, JK and Jackson are really good pieces that they can build around then add a good vet in that 5. It should work if all falls into its right places.
This is just my thoughts though.

Dray can and does help the Dubs, can't trade him anywhere, though, because wouldn't get back what he's worth. Wiggs is the best trading piece, but other teams have TVs too, they can see he's dropped off (perhaps quite a bit), won't give Dubs very much for him in trade. Snowy Utah probably does not wanna loose The Finnisher or The Clinic. Wiggs + 3 first rounders for Siakam?

The problem players that the Warriors have make them untradable. They have big contracts but are clearly defective. The players have to show improvement before the trade deadline as to not scare away any potential interested parties.

GSW needs a legitimate center position that can guard the types of Jokic or Embid. Markanen is a good choice.

In my opinion, the key here is more "preserving" a dynasty, rather than the logic of a "Curry timeframe". The latter is a very short-sighted logic. The team should always be above any single person, and with the Warriors having the best second unit in the league, the future seems really promising. These guys are still young, they make mistakes, but their development through the season is impressive. It would be ridiculous to trade them - it would make more sense to give Wiggins and someone else, like CP3.
And Curry fits into all this: he's a veteran, and it would beneficial, but also extremely valuable to train the next generation. Many people downplay the importance of education (in general), but I think his contribution to the Warriors and basketball in general would be way more significant if he can create a 2nd super-Warriors team! Rather than getting another NBA championship the next couple of years.

Siakam is a rental, he won't get the value of a Kuminga trade. Wiggins, Moody and Looney is enough to match salaries and give the raptors maple Jordan and a great first round talent in Moody.
Make a lakers style trade to build around curry, or trade everyone for picks and cap, tank and start over in the next few years.
Both is a huge gamble, but the latter will hit the fanbase harder

Fontecchio has been really good lately also, and by himself more valuable than anything moving the other way. Olynik might also be worth late first rounder.
This trade would be more realistic just cutting Markkanen out of trade, with the ghost of Andrew Wiggins being nothing but a negative trade asset.

Anyone who knows basketball should realize the Warriors will only make moves for this year and the next 2-3. So Dray won't be leaving this season or next. Wigs isn't likely to be moved unless the other team prefers him to Paul. Paul and Klay will only be moved if they are not willing to take a 40% paycut.
