    Actually the most expensive italian road is A32 that connects Torino with the Frejus Tunnel, but it has a different toll system because the space between the mountains is very narrow, so there are only two toll plazas among the highway and you can't exit on the last junction before the plaza and you can't enter at the one after the toll plaza
    Sorry for the bad english but I'm italian

    • @RoadsofEuropeverreme
      @RoadsofEuropeverreme  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I see. So it's more expensive but you pay it in two times.

    • @dogtre2283
      @dogtre2283 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can look for some videos online (I'd really like if you made one, yours are always the best) and you can notice that you don't have to pass through any toll plazas when you enter or leave the highway. There are only two barriers: Avigliana and Salbertrand. You only pay when you pass through them, and it's very expensive.
      From italian Wikipedia:
      "Different from a lot of the rest of italian Autostrade, the Torino-Bardonecchia (A32) doesn't have any toll plazas at the joints with ordinary traffic areas, but there only are two barriers: one in Low Susa Valley, in the Comune of Avigliana, and another in High Susa Valley, in the Comune of Salbertrand. So every trip that doesn't involve the pass through these barriers is not subject to toll pay."
      Italian Wikipedia (the English one is pretty empty): it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autostrada_A32
      French Wikipedia: fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autoroute_italienne_A32
      Prices: www.sitaf.it/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&layout=item&id=226&Itemid=139
      You can see that it's up to €32,40 for about 73 km.

      ("Barriera" means "Barrier", used as "toll plaza" in this case; "Area Servizio" means service station; "Traforo" means "Tunnel" usually longer than 7-8 km)

    1:11 As of November 1st the motorway is NO LONGER managed by Autocamionale della Cisa, but by the same managers of the A12 from Sestri Levante to Livorno, the SALT.

      For italians (per gli italiani):
      Dal 1° Novembre l'autostrada NON È PIÙ gestita da Autocamionale della Cosa, ma dagli stessi gestori dell'A12 da Sestri Levante a Livorno, la SALT.

    One of the last exits before the merge with the A1 is Langhirano, where the world-famous Parma ham is made. I mean the real one.

    • @Simgiov
      @Simgiov 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, the A15 doesn't pass in Langhirano, and Parma ham is made in a much wider area.

    • @davidebonannini640
      @davidebonannini640 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Simgiov it passes very close by, but you're right the exit is called Fornovo, not Langhirano.
      True, the Parma ham is made by a consortium of many firms covering a wide area but Langhirano is the epicentre, a "label into the label". Same as Valdobbiadene for the Prosecco.
