thats crazy! someone actually left a comment with a link to this video and it looked really good within the first 3 seconds so i thought its definitely worth a reaction!
she got the money because the community donated money for her after they knew that she did the race because she wanted to help her dad. Thai cultures admire anyone who has the gratitude to their folks, teachers etc.
Hello from Thailand. I just stumble into this video. It's nice. But I'm actually here to explain what happened in the video. First of all, the word in the title "ความกตัญญู" means something like gratitude toward parents. So the title is basically like "For you, what is 'the gratitude toward parent' equal to?" From the start of the video, the girl gives up school and try to find a job so that she can take care of her dad. She was turned down on a server job because of her leg. She also get turned down on other job as well. All she can feed her dad is rice soup and an egg. It's cheap. Then while searching for job, she stumble on a marathon brochure. It gives some reward. There are various of things in the house that's almost up; money, food, and her dad's medicine. She enter the marathon. I will skip to the part where it there are letter on the crutch. It says 'if possible, dad would like to have it instead.' I think he means the girl's leg condition. And yes everyone waited for her so she could take the first place and also donate so that she can cover her dad surgery. At the end, the doctor that's going to treat the girl's dad is actually the lasted time marathon champ that wait for her at the end of the line. Plot twisted! Hope you all enjoyed!
Yeah unfortunately it’s not that type of culture in America… very individualistic not collectivist. People tend to only care for themselves not the entire community. That’s also the issue right now with covid and masking and vaccines. It got so bad here because people didn’t want to wear masks- they don’t want to be uncomfortable even if it means they will risk other people’s lives they don’t care :(
@@NurseKirsten Yeah. I saw that on the news. They even now some fight between people who support the vaccination and the anti-vaccination. Hope the Covid will disappear soon.
@@majupeetube i know it's been so difficult globally covid has definitely made it hard for everyone, but our hearts really extend towards Asia because we know countries there are so overwhelmed
I think more and more people in Thailand nowaday start to question if these type of commercial really worth cherishing ??? Poors' life are commercialized and used as an object for richer generosity. Real problems are forgotten while we're enjoying romanticized stories of helping the inferiors. Thailand is one of the top countries with the wealth gap and the gap keep widthening. Why (the girl) she had to fight that hard and was saved by the mercy of the community ??? Why she had to take care of her sick father full time and couldn't go to school ??? How many life beside her that share similar hardness & tribulation and are left unknown ??? Where is the government in this story and when will they have any policy on these problem ??? Instead of just being sentimental and have our emotional fulfilling by the video, Maybe we should better start asking these question.
The first place price is not much even for ordinary Thai, the professional marathon runner wont consider coming to complete in the first place, not worth their time and energy, in Thailand most of the events are for charity and health also most of them have to pay the fee to join . Basically people join the event just for fun and be able to put their own pic on their IG wall, Those disability in reality they maybe just sit and beg side of the street or wait for the social well fare . The state health care is actually free in Thailand but if it not critical then they wont be able to meet a real doctor cause it free so it about quantity, it mostly shit if one needs a better quality it gotta pay. the impact for this ads about gratitude is she do something unusual something hard that got people attention and respect her action.

I think the most broken heart part in this clip is at 08.55 when your husband said "I wonder if it community like that in America" and you said "NO".
