girl, I had a male student who would touch me and say inappropriate things, I held a conference with his mother and she told me he has a harmless crush and I stood be flattered. I was floored. I told her if he doesn't stop, I'm filing a formal complaint, and I then requested he be removed from my class. He was, I also had his football coach speak to him. I don't know what that coach said but he never bothered me again. His mom was useless.

I recently had an old flame try to come back into my life. Turns out he is jobless, totalled 2 cars, so his insurance is NUTS! Registration is messed up ( I didnt ask why cause idc) His father has cancer and has financial problems connected to his house, his brother in law recently committed suicide, and he just had a baby this year from someone he has known for years. They both live with their parents now in their 40s. SMH. His life sucks!!

My mother took care of her boyfriend when he got really sick. Washed his balls and everything. As soon as he was better, he would blow her off to hang out with his friends. So ungrateful. Seeing my mother's bad experiences taught me what not to do. No cooking, no cleaning, no nursing, no lending money, no cohabitation until I have a ring. These men think they are the prize, and it's our fault.
My mom did the same thing. Her boyfriend told her that she had to keep herself healthy so she could take care of him. When she got cancer he wouldn’t even bring her a glass or water! I know karma is real and he’ll have to deal with his.

After he got sick, I think she was in a lose-lose situation. His family didn't know her that well, so there was no real attachment there. So, of course, they weren't gonna place much value on her input or her presence. However, had she not really been around during his illness, they probably would've viewed her as a flaky person.

Funny thing about this is I feel like as his gf, had she chosen to step back and not be around when he was sick his family would have probably dragged her and downed her for choosing not to be the ride or die. I think this was a lose lose situation. Especially since the relationship was so public and they were from a reality show. Damned if you do damned if you dont. People would have been asking where is she and why isn't she next to him giving her all for him if she would have chosen to stay out of it. People would have felt like she wasnt proving her worth. It seems like he is coddled by his mom and sis and put on a pedestal by the women in his life for being a regular dude with a job. She was a very high value woman in my opinion . Especially in comparison. He had a regular job as a truck driver. Who knows what he does on the road. And she is a educated speech therapist. Heck she looked amazing. I feel like she was dating down. This women took the passive route of we are great friends and there is no pressure and he still didnt 100% commit. And I get the impression that the mom and sister were probably competing with her and not wanting her as the girlfriend to be involved in controlling what happened to him while sick. But had she not been there I really think they would have put her down for stepping back. To me it's all bs. Gotta protect your peace.

This is happening to my auntie at the moment.. He has cancer etc and she is the one taking care of him, cleaning his (LITERALLY) OPEN wounds , bath him, feed him, etc the things she is going through is very very serious.. Well there was a time he got better.. he was hitting on other women etc.. Then well.. he got sick again, till now he is still sick.. they are married but the meanness and ungratefulness her husband shows her.. is just out of this world.. my mom & I have advised that if she was the one in her sick bed, he wouldn't be there for her.
She said she knows , just that she finds it sad.. to let him be like that.. ( while he has another family that can take care of him though.. if she doesn't) She is toooooo gorgeous, to be going through all of this for a man who doesn't appreciate her Just praying she wakes up fast, before it's too late.. I don't think there was anything wrong with what Ashlee did, the problem arose when she found out things about his past that were probably more deal breakers than his mom, sister, or spent energy. If he had not gotten sick, he might have been able to continue the charade with her and she may not have come to know the dynamic of his mom and sis. That was the storm God sent to throw a wrench in the fairytale. I think we need to remember that in this situation. SHE dodged a bullet.

That was the biggest red flag for me but I didn't want to shoot down his dream. By the grace of God it didn't work out but I had to hold him down until he found something else.
