MCK demands arrest of police officer who shot a journalist

Media council of Kenya Chief Executive Officer David Omwoyo has called on the independent policing and oversight authority to hasten investigations into the shooting of Kameme TV reporter Wanjeri Kariuki by a police officer
Speaking in Nakuru moments after he paid a visit to journalist Wanjeri, Omwoyo pointed out that the police force is covering up the identity of the officer involved in the shooting and asked the national police service to reveal his identity.
Omwoyo called on journalists to remain united despite continuous threats to media freedom.
