チャーハンはラードがうまいって力説されてたけど本当にそうやわ！近くのラーメン屋でも中華でもラード使ってないチャーハンばっかりでもの足りひん！

とにかく、安い！美味い！餃子が思っているより大きい！
店のオーナーかなと思う位のパートのおばちゃんの対応にあっぱれ！

最近値上げが有りましたがそれでも通い続けます。

南海飯店は、大阪外国語大学（上八キャンパス時代）OB誰もがお世話になった外大の第2食堂の様な存在でありました。ハイハイタワン建設前の伊勢屋景品交換所やスナック砂丘の近くにあったお店は、街中の一般的な中華料理店とは違いどこか東南アジアのチャイナタウンのお店を思わせる造りであった事を覚えています。大きな（太った）餃子と福建炒麺に似た中華スープで炒めた焼きそば又は太麺を揚げたかた焼きそばが私の定番メニューでありました。
これも今は無い上六ボールの裏手に自社ビルを持ち、その1階でもお店をやっておられた記憶があります。
現在でも人気のお店であるとの由、機会を見て伺いたいと思います。ご紹介有難うございます。

Seasoning: Ketchup, sugar, light soy sauce, some oyster sauce, chopped garlic. Not orange cordial, another type dish sauce.
南海飯店、上本町の百楽近くにあった時よく食べに行っていたなぁ。
その百楽も別の場所に移ったらしいけど。
予備校時代にお世話になってました。

上本町、何度か行ってます。ハイハイタウンも知ってますが、入ったこと無かったです。今度、上本町行ったときに、行きます。
あの焼きそばと春巻き、絶対美味いやつ。
イカの湯通し見ただけで旨いとわかる。
上六の職場にいたとき、昼メシは、南海飯店か大鳳閣で迷ったものだ。
ここの餃子、酢豚、春巻きの３つはかなりおいしいです。他の店では食べれなくなるレベル。

Chinese chefs. It's kinda intimidating, when you see what they do in an evening. So. When you have time to talk to a decent Chinese head chef, you always kinda wonder how they will be, when they know you are kitchen 'failure.' It's pretty obvious, when you see how they handle the wok and the heat and how they prep, that they can see a kitchen 'disaster' type person, without even thinking about it. But. The one head chef, I got to spend some time with, was really nice. He didn't talk at ALL about the kitchen. He asked me if I did any fishing. He was smoking a cigarette. He was drinking coffee. Nice guy. It's just that the heat in the kitchen WILL change you. I imagined this guy doing some fishing and I could see how much he gets out of the peace of it. If you're gimpy about heat and fire, you should try to imagine how hot it gets, when you watch Chinese chefs, cooking away.
I totally agree with him on the use of lard. Cooking oils are over processed with chemical.
My family has a Mexican restaurant for over 70 years and still use lard

Only one dish was Chinese though, idk if this really counts as a Chinese restaurant. They were pretty much all American Chinese and Japanese Chinese fusion dishes.
most of these are authentic chinese dishes tho, the dumplings, fried rice and noodles, sweet and sour pork, stir fries and vinegared pork etc, most of these are common chinese dishes, you might say some of it are added with japanese element, and most american chinese food is just normal chinese dishes you commonly see everywhere in mainland china or south east asia region with chinese immigrant

ハイハイタウンの店は支店なんだよな。
本店は近鉄百貨店の筋向かいにある、ちょっと高級な中華屋さん。
店まで行くの簡単じゃ無さそうやし、他にも周りに飲食店有ると思うけど、それなのにこんだけ繁盛してるって相当旨いんやろな。
ラードで作ると旨いけど、単価上がるからなぁ
多少旨いよりも、満腹になった方が満足感が大きい

The kitchen is like a war zone. The Chinese culture kitchen chef don't talk so much. They receive a written note order and cook the dish in silence.
