This time most of the instruments played this time were ”regular” piston valved instruments, but one of the Eb cornetists (at the second right during the concert program) is playing a traditional swedish Eb rotary cornet, and the one played is a special cavalry top-action rotary Eb cornet, made by Lars Gerdt AB in Stockholm from an original one from the late 20th century.
Spiffing video as usual Sir! This is probably my favourite mounted Band outside of the UK! So happy they played one of my favourite Marches "Gardeshusaren". The missing march at 6:35 is "Kreuzritter Fanfare" composed by Richard Henrion. Again Spiffing video!
Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed it, they are a very fine mounted band! I really enjoyed listening to the Gardeshusaren march also, a new one to me until now!
There will be new helmets coming for next season, they will look like the old one, but with safety features! LDK is a nice band that I have been driving on tour a couple of times, as well as locally in Stockholm :)
The Pickelhaube got banned by Arbetsmiljöverket this summer 2023 for not giving enough protection to the soldiers. A new pickelhaube (m/2024) will be delivered next year.
Livregementets Hussares Marsch …. One of the greatest Präsentiermärsche :D thanks to the Dragonermusikkår, a German can at least listen to the original version of Fehrbelliner Reitermarsch and Kreuzritter Fanfare
The front entrance to the military building where the horses live. I am a member as I like the horses walking past now and then. Members keep the horses so to speak. Feel free to keep the horses running. I am sure they will be more then happy to receive funding. Only the best ones for the best of our musicians of course. Cultural long weekend end of the week with open air Music with some ☔ maybe. I am sure the palace is safe whatever else they might say these days. Personal highlight the outdoor opera on Sunday evening at the Royal opera,Gustav Adolfs torg for free.
Fascinating! Where on earth are their wonderful Dragoner silver spiked helmets?!!! These mounted police safety headgear is an absolute disgrace to a military formation! Don’t tell me that Sweden’s equivalent to the dreaded Health & Safert Executive are interfering with military tradition? If so, God help us if they lead to the British Household Cavalry losing their Albert pattern plumed helmets if they copy this disgraceful step! I thought apart from the Drum Horse the Mounted Band rode greys? As one commentator said they looked a bit mismatched? However, his complaint about tinniness is misfounded as this is not a full Mounted Band with woodwind like the Household Cavalry but a Trompeterkorps with brass only. The kettledrums are a disappointment though - are they using copper practice drums I wonder rather than solid silver ones? In the 1970s I saw this regiment mounting guard and they then looked and sounded far better without all the concessions to petty-fogging Health & Safety features. Polical Correctness gone mad - this a military outfit for heavens sake - traditional, slightly dangerous comes with military service I would have thought?
@@rickardnyberg4899 My dear Swedish Friend, I wasn’t being critical about your wonderful Mounted Band - don’t get me wrong, I love listening to your wonderful musicians in the Trompeterkorps! My fury and irritation was at Health & Safety Authorities that have completely ruined your dress uniforms by forcing you to wear civilian crash helmets instead of proper silver Dragoner helmets!!! So unmilitary to not accept the risks of military headgear in my opinion. This is nothing to do with the wonderful quality of the band. The kettledrums do need tightening a wee bit though! Haha! No seriously, it is still a wonderful sight and sounds!
As a former military member I welcomed the work safety board's decision since there have been years and years of complaints from the mounted dragoons that the parade helmet is dangerous. The decision FINALLY forces the lifeguard staff to seek a replacement that actually protect the wearer's head. These helmets are only a stopgap measure for this year and perhaps the next. If the armed forces' leadership would have addressed this when concerns were first raised this wouldn't have been necessary and, more importantly, soldiers and officers wouldn't have had to risk their health for several years over an easily solved issue
I am sad that they dont use the old "pickelhaubs" helmets. I dont like the police helmets. To much nazi-feeling in those helmets. Changing for security reason....I dont like it at all. But the show is still good and worth a visit when I am in Stockholm.
Not very impressed. The horses look in poor condition & mismatch. Music tinny along with kettle drums. Sorry give me the British military bands & cavalry.
Sweden doesn’t have Mounted Regiments like in UK so if you expect that, you will be dissapointed…. This is a foundation keeping military traditions with musical changing of the guard and mounted royal escorts alive side by side with the Swedish Guards rather than anything like the UK Household Cavalry…. We should be happy that there is military horses at all outside of London because not many Royal Courts have horses at their disposal nowdays
It’s tradition to have the drum major and the fanfare trumpets to be white horses, other brown horses and that the kettle drum horse is a Nordsvensk. Don’t speak about traditions you don’t know anything about.
What beautiful dog. Horses are awesome. Uniforms stunning

Hope so. It looks all wrong without them… 🤦🏼♂️
GOD HEAVEN, THIS MUST HAVE AN END ,,,
Oh, how I hope you are right... This is not dignified!
I love the music. The horse with the drummer is so sweet. We'll all the horses are sweet. From South Africa
The guards standing at the back, their helmets is cool ❤❤❤❤

Men hästarna är nog samma som förr, mycket fina att se.

What is that tuba in the 2nd to last row?
It is called a Helicon.
Wow, Narva marsch has a Vivace tempo.... it usually goes slower. And what the heck, no figurative show?
They still sound good. But why not 5 colons. When i was in the band 1995 we had 5 white horses in the front and sometimes even two timpani horses
Ser inte klokt ut med ridskolehjälm. Ska de se ut sådär kan de lika gärna lägga ner.
