It should be added before laying down many of the Swedish regiments, so it was soldiers from each regiment who went on high guard at Stockholm Castle. Ordinary soldiers went on high guard for one day and Renger soldiers went on high guard for 3 days and they then started from K1. Those who go on high guard today and as you see in the film are professional soldiers and they should just go on high guard at the castle.
Military traditions differ, but all countries borrow a great deal from one another. The "Pickelhaube" helmet style became popular in several countries due to Prussian military success in the 19th century, there are even pictures of American troops in the 1880s wearing helmets at least inspired by that style. After the 2nd world war both British and American traditions came into fashion, such as the berets which weren't in use before that time. The Royal Life Guard (Svea Livgarde) wear an 1890s somewhat more light blue uniform, but this is a different unit, so different styles from different eras and countries tend to co-exist.
Btw when I did my military service some 30 years ago we wore the same uniforms as the changing guards except the berets, we had white helmets, otherwise it was the same equipment. I kind of regret that I never got to wear the 19th century style uniform, but that's just the way it is sometimes.
Hello Can I clarify. I did not say that it was a navy band. Google checks all sound tracks for possible copyright infringements and this time they got it wrong believing that the music was being played by a British navy band. Nothing I can do about it. The bands must have played with equal military precision!.
K Bryce Morrison TH-cam fooled me there. But I found it a little strange that the ”marine band” was using the army coats. On the other hand, the white pants are standard for the navy band and there has been some cuts in the funding, so I thought they might have taken what was left of the uniforms.
@@andreasask6791 these white pants are the cool linen summer version of Långbyxor m/1845, which the band wears in the summer time instead of the dark blue and warm Långbyxor m/1872 in wool (the coat is year round the Vapenrock m/1886).
awesome tradition love from the united kingdom

Quite interesting. The marching bands uniforms look prussian however the soldiers drill looks a bit british. Would like to learn more about that.

They march from the Army Museum.
Great video. I love the march ”Norrlandsfärger” in the figurative marching program. Correction though - this is the army band, not the navy band!

It’s the Swedish army.
@@VideosBryce Can’t be British navy band.
Only Swedish people are allowed to do that.

What is the first march called
OK Google tells me that it is Kronprins Olavs Honnormarsch by Staff Band of the Norwegian Armed Forces (Crown Prince Olav's Honor March)
The Scottish Rifles Colonel in Chief was at one time HM King Of Sweden.
Pickelhaube :D
Or as we would say a Pickelhuva
Kask:)
