I appreciate this review Chris. Btw, I've been watching your videos for several years, and it delights me that our collecting and appreciation of both vintage and contemporary pens seems to be on a parallel track. My own Delike "#2 Handmade Nature RedWood Fountain Pen" pen should be here soon. :)
For some reason my Delike wood pen arrived in record time - with no damage this time. I must say it looks and feels better than I expected. The finishes, specifically of the wood parts, is high. The only downside for me is the EF nib - a nib tip size I prefer btw - but this one performs quite generically on the page. On the other hand I can do a little work on it.:)
Thank you, Chris. I was hoping you would do a review of this pen. As you said in the description there are two versions. The other is a very dark colour. I like the look of both of them. I didn't realise quite how small it was until you showed it side-by-side with some other pens. I have to admit I do like fine nibs and I enjoyed the writing sample. I think Delike wisely chose a plastic section to try and prevent ink from staining the wood. Very interesting video.
Thank you, Chris. I have not been that interested in wooden pens but I like this. I hope all is well with the weather for people where you are. Here it's been quite mild, even with snow falling occasionally.
Orange oil is great stuff I've always used its on wooden furniture. I don't have any wooden fountain pens but this one seems nice, most of the ones I've seen in the past were kit type pens but this one has some nice design elements , shame about the nib and the fact its not available in a medium or a broad but has you said a bent nib would solve that it some extent. Thanks Chris
I just looked up my purchase of this pen last month. It's called the SHEPHERD BOY pen. Mine was supposed to come with a bent nib, but it came with the same nib in the video.
I've had this pen sitting in my drawer (the dark wood version) for about a month now. I gotta ink it up and see how it writes. Too many pens, not enough time, lol.
New Moon with bent nib.
Since you smoothened the nib yourself, it is as much a review of your tinkering successes as it is a review of Delike’s product. They need to focus on their nibs! Wooden pens are more sustainable. They need better effort from companies.
Most Delike nibs are good as received, especially the bent nibs. When buying low cost pens & having specific writing expectations, one need to be able to adjust nibs or learn to like what there is.
Seems overpriced for a small, light pen of "red wood" - almost certainly not redwood, a tree that exists only in the USA. (There is a Chinese Metasequoia redwood but it's nearly extinct - only a few thousand trees left alive - and pens wouldn't be made from it.) Alibaba and similar sites are flooded with super-cheap wood pens & mechanical pencils these days, costing 30¢ on up with similarly grain-patterned wood. So enjoy the pen for what it is, but at least know what it is and isn't. Decent review overall, but waiting 11.5 minutes before finally mentioning that the nib arrived "unusable"??? If you're jonesing for a cheap wood pen and are willing to baby it to minimize the chance of cracking (and you own some micromesh), I'd say go for it. But for the same price I'm more intrigued by the Delike Submarine Celluloid FP.
Each of us have our perspectives. This is a well made wood pen. As you saw in the video I've bought less expensive ones, not usable. I do not consider a little smoothing an issue. Especially for an inexpensive pen. Also easy to swap nib. Part of owning fountain pens is my enjoying in modifying it as I want.

Chris i like the look of the pen interesting design thanks for sharing.
Thanks for all of your reviews, you seem to always get the pens I am thinking of buying.
Thanks for a thorough review. I ordered mine yesterday with M nib.

I only have one wood pen just for variety, a Faber Castell.
Chris, I guess you already are the number 1 reviewer of Chinese pens on TH-cam.
Was there any question?
chrisrap52 No. Only a fan comment :)
Thank you.

Thank you, @Chirs, for the review. Would you please advise me that this pen use #5 or #6 nib?
Nib is a No. 5. Thanks for watching.
Push-pull converters are so easy to clean. I wonder if the silicone grease ever inhibits ink flow.
I've had this pen sitting in my drawer (the dark wood version) for about a month now. I gotta ink it up and see how it writes. Too many pens, not enough time, lol.
I know the feeling.
The Delike reminds me of the Jinhao 9056. Are they the same size?
Who makes the Titanium pen?
Could be a Namisu Nova or an Enso. th-cam.com/video/vSbvgXkFwHU/w-d-xo.html
@@chrisrap52 it was the Namisu. I will look to see availability.
Thank's Chris. I was wondering if it could possible to replace the extrafine nib with a F or a M nib #5. Wat's your oppinion?
Thank's for your answer Chris. Unfortunately tried yesterday but i failed...I will try again.
Tnx for the review, you just saved me the purchase Xd
Suggest a review of your pens that you rate a solid "10".
None have achieved that rating. This is a new feature for me. Will be evolving.
I will look forward to it. Have any achieved a ZERO rating yet?

This review was helpful, thanks. Now I know it is not a pen for me!
I find the fit and finish excellent, but the section is way too skinny, the cap needs to post a little better, and I find it dries out.
