Ayo keep it on the down low. I got my 95 Celica GT half a year ago for $2,500 and most 6gc enthusiasts don't want the value of the Celica to inflate like all the Supras, Miatas and 240s. ;)
It’s fine bro ppl nowadays want 200hp stock MINIMUM or a Honda, even Scotty Kilmers been hyping up Celicas for like 7 years and Celicas are still sold for cheap. It’s all bc ppl see Celicas as un-tunable cars. Basically, celica enthusiasts can rest easy. 🙏🏽
Most of them are rotted out. Half of them you don't even want and the other part have crazy miles or got parted out. Hidden gems come along once in a while tho
I’ve owned nearly 10 celiacs and I can tell you from experience… they’re super “cheap and affordable” until those electrical issues pop up then it’s not so much 😬
The 7th Generation Celica GT-S with the TRD package, is a head turner car. It looks like a ready racecar. There's so many Carbon Fiber parts for the 7th Generation.
Bought one of these beauts almost two years ago. 1995 with a 2.2 5S and was a hatchback and five-speed manual. I plan on engine and drivetrain swapping it to have the 3s-gte and awd. If any of you have any pointers or tips on doing such a task, let me know. She's a dream, and I recommend it to anyone who wants an old Toyota sportscar!
Celiacs with AWD are the GT-Four versions, which are rare in themselves, but then for anti lag and water injection the World Rally Championship version is even more rare. Also the generations are ST185 for 4th gen ST205 for 5th gen
You are so wrong. First ever gt4 is the 165 gen 4 celica. the 185 is 5th gen (round popups) and 205 is 6th gen (4 circular front lights) I am hoping to restore a 165 from an old fam friend when i have the funds and give my gen 5 gts to my girl
@@erocccy yes sorry, had it confused, the 205 is 6th gen. I know that the 205 is round headlight 185/165 are pop ups. My general point was right though, the WRC edition FT-fours are very rare
The 1999 Volkswagen Passat with a 1.8 t or 2.0 t. The 1.8 motors in these Passat's cannot run without a turbo as without the turbo it doesn't make enough compression to run.
I found an st182 celica gt with a lot of mileage (like 275k km) for 3k, it's kept well, no damage in the exterior and the interior but idk about the engine. I just gotta hope it will be still for sale when I'll get my driver license (in 2 years)
It will probably sell. Good starter car get a manual. Easy to learn on. Spend as long as u need in a parking lot going up to 3rd gear and only leave when you feel confident you can stay calm and wont crash on a main road. Better MPG in manual, more responsive (faster), and just way more fun. If the car starts and the idle isnt rough (RPM resting between 800-1100 maybeee 1200 but probably a vacuum leak which isnt the end of the world, needs to be addressed tho) if all that happens and there no weirdness like leaking fluid out the bottom or the car juttering from just pressing the gas or even doing nothing then its a good celica. I paid $4000 for my 91 GTS 2.2L and thats for a really good one. average ones sell for around 2k so expect a good car for 3k.
In my opinion the celica is the greatest car of all time. I have a 97 celica who has been through 360,000 miles of heck. it's got a sweet 5-speed manual and is a great car to learn stick shift on. The most fun ive ever had in a car. Sucks it got sideswiped and may never run perfect again.
Already happening here in sweden. Bought my gen6 Celica last year for 2500$ with 200,000 km on it and now the same gen with more kilometers sell for more
every 5th gen owner wants the gt4... my uncle has an abandoned 80's gt-4 which is my dream project!! the earlier st 165 with the turbo and intercooler FULL TIME AWD and a body even smaller than the 5th gen... only issue is water damage to the turbo but if i had 10k im dumping it all into that gt4 and keeping it for life dude
I been lookin for a 1994 GT-FOUR 5 speed manual, in white for sale...I got the Playstation 2 Gran-Turismo 3 A-SPEC Greatest Hits (red label)...you feel me....I found one....this seller swapped a (I think) FWD to a GT-FOUR....and wants $20 grand for it....if I'm gonna pay that much, I'd buy one directly from Japan, cause it'll already a GT-FOUR from the start and it'll be RHD....(1994)
Affordable??? Lol 😂 but it’s kinda true… find a old celica with a na 3s and do a swap for little under 7k…. But if you want one like my brothers St185….. good luck even finding one 😅
No it is FOUR wheel drive because its 50/50 ALL TIME meaning FOUR WHEELS HAVE POWER TO THEM. not 60/40 or 40/60 or whatever unbalanced ratio you want to use. Its a predominantly FWD car but they went to the drawing board with the GT4s and made a racing beast, not a celica with an AWD drivetrain added on........ do your research first kiddo
I drive a 1995 Toyota Celica GT 5 speed with very little mods, I have a nice exhaust kit on it, MaxSpeeding Coilovers, and MaxSpeeding Connecting rods, aftermarket clutch, and an aftermarket air-intake system. Take care of these cars and they’ll take care of you. They are absolutely the best starter sports car. I dust a lot of the muscle cars near where I live, hell I give the dodge demons a run for their money off the line

Bought mine for €3500 with some extra parts. Only downside on this car is to find parts

I bought my 97 for 300 bucks, had sat in a lot for five years.
Put a battery and fuel pump in and she's been purring like a kitten ever since
The Fwd celica is the only "affordable" one. The 4wd ones go for at least 15k usually
Buy my 5GC vert
Ay bro we gate keeping for a reason 😭
Thats the reason why we hate mechanics
Everone one who works on cars know its hard to rpofit. Thats why they over ask the price lol
In my eyes this thing is a legend
theres nothing more fun than popping up my 91 headlights
You know your whips man
Just a little bit man
I've got a 1981 Celica GT. Back when it was rwd. Still runs great. 22r engines never die

Bought the 1.8l 6th gen as my first car, can only recommend it
I just got my 96 yesterday 💪
How many miles?
I got a 95 celica for 400usd runs n drives interior is beautiful just needs some paint and body work
Where? i cant find a running one for no more then 5.5k
I know it’s probably a bad idea to own a celica as a first car but lowkey i want it
It’s a solid first car.

Thats what i was saying too the GT-fours are definitely not affordable and there definitely not sleepers they were rally cars

Had two 6th gens, fun little cars they were stupid easy to work on too and affordable for parts
I bought the matrix XR because it has the same engine as this work of art. 230k miles and she smooth.
I got a 1991 Toyota Celica ST
uhmm u forgot the 1.8 liter
Noo! Dont mention it! I want one cheap when im older!😂
Got mine a month or so ago, the head gasket blew the motor, so I bought a new one to put in, so it should be ready to go in two ish weeks
"Sleeper" is something you wouldn't expect to be fast. A celica is quite literally labled a sports car.
❤ I freeken Love this car.. 💪💯
I have a 96 manual 2.2L
The Celica is my favorite car.
Yooooo chilllll don’t be letting mfs know we gotta keep this legend on the DL
Scotty approves!!!!
The 1999 Volkswagen Passat with a 1.8 t or 2.0 t. The 1.8 motors in these Passat's cannot run without a turbo as without the turbo it doesn't make enough compression to run.

It's not like it would cost more than the value of the car to fix which for me is entirely worth it for how clean the celica rides.
One year later at least in flordia. I cant find a running one for less then 5.5k. i found so blown engines for 3k but nothing else besides the 30k gt4
Got a GT4 wrc edition 1 of 2500 with factory antilag for 16k. Cheaper than any new in the US and better
Man my dream is a Celica GT-Four or a GT-Four CS
Fr the gt4 so sexy 😩

Truth.
If someone wanted to buy a rolling shell celica and part out a GT4 it would be very affordable unless you cant do the rebuild yourself.
