His sister sued NBC calling them "judge, jury and executioner" but it wasn't Chris holding the gun. Plus, even if NBC wasn't there I'm fairly certain that SWAT still would've showed up since the suspect barricaded himself in his house.

They arrested him on the weekend when he was at home because TCAP was going to leave town before Monday and they wanted to film the prosecutor getting arrested because it would be good TV. It would have been smarter to arrest him at work where he didn’t have access to a gun. It was TCAP that pressured the police into going to his house. Chris claims that he had no control over where the arrest took place, which isn’t true.
The police and SWAT team didn't want to show up at the house. They knew he had guns in his house and things could get messy. They wanted to arrest him at work. NBC forced the police and SWAT team to do the raid on his house because they wanted to put it on TV.
Other than her mourning her brother, she able to sue on technicality because Conrad got to his senses of cutting off the online chat and backed out by not showing up at the sting house.
