Many thanks for this great video. I have the same Bolex M8 which is running fine, except the speed control knob is out of order. The speed is stuck at the slowest level where it repeats a kind of on-off motion. Can you kindly give me any suggestions on how I could fix it? Thank you in advance!
At 7:02 which way does that go back on? It came of when I pulled everything out. There is metal on one side. Does it go with the metsl side toward the shutter? Or toward the back. Please help. Thank you
I do, you are probably right and if you are handy with the soldering iron you can do it yourself. there are two large capacitors on the amp, the biggest is often the problem (depending on the type of amp). i recently repaired one that also had a shorted rectifier bridge.
@@eriksnel6461 , I suspect a short. A screw fell down inside the amp and now I just get terrible noise. Hard to get at that amp, I'll try to figure it out. I assume you are not located in the US? I have replaced capacitors before. Since the projector is 1968 or so, I probably should replace all of them. Thanks for the reply, Walt

Well i don't have a part number, i didn't replace the belt in this video as it was in good enough state to be re used, i just made this video to show the viewer how to change the belt. I don't know where you can find a replacement, i would sugest Ebay. My suplier of parts does not have this particular belt in stock. normally i get the parts at www.van-eck.net, they have many parts and shipworldwide.
Thanks for great video. I tried my Bolex M8 again for the first time in many years, and to my surprise the motor drives the wheels backwards only, so it is impossible to drive the film from the front wheel to the back wheel. Do you know of any way to reverse this? Thanks in advance!
