Really nice to see the Unwiished Project return to life. Considered taking it up myself for awhile after it died. It definitely isn't made to accommodate the HD version's style of gameplay, and the camera-work probably ought to be adapted to help mitigate that, but perhaps even without the hybrid style'd Boost gameplay of the original, its speedrunning centric level design can be appreciated. The priority would need to be adjusting the S Ranks like Unleashed Project does. Unwiished has highly testing S Ranks times, that force you to find the ideal route through a level and avoid all errors. It often winds up being written off as a series "empty hallways" when you're not optimizing for those, and just trying to get through. This was mitigated by the need to move correctly like in SA2 or 06's Mach Speed that the OG had, but with HD Sonic's less nimble, more focused controls, it is actually exacerbated. But it doesn't have to be.
I wish they didn’t cut the Wii version stages into missions. You can clearly tell the Missions are the second and third parts of the stage. Same deal with the Jungle Joyride bonus missions.
Tip for sonic unleashed/unwiished day stages. When there’s a spring leading to a homing attack/red hoop ring, just air boost instead and if it’s over a death pit, air boost and homing attack when u go down.
I don't know what pleases me the most. The fact that they made a fairly complete mod on the best version of Sonic Unleashed without any possible discussion... or that they modeled and animated Chip in Sonic Generations. 🥰
I haven't actually played the Wii version, but from what I know about the game, I'd rank it separately. Both games are different and the wii version sounds great, but I'd need to play it to rank it, because I've already played the 360/PS3 version and it's probably my favourite Sonic game
Man, it is unreal how good this stages look on the HE1. With some better textures and some decorative assets here and there they could easily pass as coming from the HD version
Personally, I’m not the biggest fan of the Day Stages on the Wii. They just feel like an empty straight line. Kinda reminds me of Forces, which is something I never want to think of again. At least like the other version, it’s a bit more engaging, which is something that it kinda makes up for. At least Rooftop Run is still kinda fun.
@@soniccavinthehedgehogfast6823 hey, I never said Unwiished was worse than Forces, in fact I said the exact opposite. It’s just the lesser version, which does appeal to others, but just doesn’t appeal to me.
It's really not a case of it being a lesser unleashed because they have different design philosophy. Unleashed is all about quick reactions and Spectacle, Unwiished is a lot more racing game like with a huge focus on steering and tight controls, less thrill but more satisfying to speed run imo.
@@Substantial-hf1rm I'd add on Unwiished has a lot of rewarding shortcuts with rings if one were slow down and spot them. Plus the Werehog stages play more like Zelda in this one
There's nothing more soothing and calm than the gaia gate theme

Especially the beginning of the song is just the best

I'm glad to see someone who understands.
The rooftop run footage almost looks exactly like the E3 trailer! (Minus the level design ofc)
To me, it's not unwiished without the sharp as hell drift, boost that has to be managed, and action chains, godspeed for the action chains.
I'm honestly not a fan of original Unwiished gameplay, but I'd love an Action Chain system for the other boost games. That would be awesome.
@@dolomite1067 Completely justified, it's just my opinion, yours is cool too
I love this so much, I had the wii port of unleashed when I was little but now I can play it on pc :)
If you haven’t tried the PS3/360 you really should! In my opinion it’s way better in almost every way! :)

I find it amazing how people are still modding Generations to this day.
Generations is the best Sonic game to mod on. It's like there's no limits to it 😆
@@TheRaziz321321 That's true.
People mod even good old SADX
It’s interesting how the level design still holds up even when put in an engine where the small scale starts to show
My favorite stage from the Wii has to be dragon road day.
Same here.
Yeah
@@joshuawilliams6767 i also like adabat joyride day. and cool edge holoska day.

Man the lightning engine really makes these levels pop and it does a good job hiding those last gen textures
Oh my god the gaia gates look so amazing
I think im in love
They could do so much more with the Gaia gate. Maybe a stage to race to the altar?
2:41 Has nobody else really noticed the freeze?
i surely did
Already did
Generations Unwiished is looking good.
The music from the Wii leased hub stage was so calming
Some weird stuff going on with the water

lets be real its just a stripped down version of the xbox 360/ps3 one

Wow, this looks pretty cool
lol I love how chip is following sonic around! Also how did he keep up with sonic while sonic runs incredibly fast?! 6:36
The level design feels so empty without unwiisheds controls
“Looks like that door won’t open yet, Sonic!
We still need 23 more moon medals and 25 more sun medals.
Come on, Sonic! Let’s find some more!”

i had sonic unleashed on ps2 at the time but my ps2 has since died
Woah this is a good sonic game
2:41 I see you're getting the freezes with the Direct 3D 11 mod too.
Again great job Blue 👍🏾💙😉
This is really cool!
Noice!
I owned unwiished but now i can emulate it with 60fps
OMG that freeze was unbearable 2:41 😨
It needs an update badly.
Can they use assets and textures from The HD unleashed to make UnWIIshed level designs look more HD and dynamic?
Nah without the Wii/Ps2 Unleashed Boost system this is not worth it
Isn't that a mod already?
Is there a mod that changes the boost to the one from unwiished ?
Where is the link of the mod levels?
hi i have a question so how can we do this mod i know i got steam but how do you put mods
Nice Video
Honestly is good but we need that moveset too. generations Sonic is way too fast for this game

What do you mean unwiished is nothing like forces plus your more drifting in unwiished no straight lines here lol
Ummm they're betyer than forces. They're longer and there are more paths and there's more logic to them than simply "boost to win."
