Find out how to incorporate your business in your home state without paying a service to file for you. I have two businesses since 2016 and I share all the mistakes to avoid and answer just about every question that will arise as you go through the process.
File your LLC on your home state’s Secretary of State .gov or .us website (not a .com).

Not sure about in other states, but in Florida you can be your own Registered Agent! 😁
The Registered Agent for a Florida LLC must be an individual person or a designated Florida business - your Florida LLC cannot serve as its own Registered Agent.
The Registered Agent must have a street address in Florida.
Florida Registered Agents cannot use P.O. boxes for their address.
An individual within the business may serve as the LLC’s Registered Agent.

@@EmilyBinder Print-on-Demand. Something to get my feet wet. From watching your videos yesterday i got my llc n ein completed today. Still need more guidance though. Being in the military here in colorado and venturing into this business is going to be a challenge. LLC cost $50.

So, it wasn't hard to register my own LLC with the steps outlined in this video, but I feel a key point that should be mentioned is that you'll want a 3p organizer to file your articles of organization for additional privacy. If you file yourself and put your home address, it defeats one of the purposes of having a registered agent. 🤦🏾♀️I filed in MO a couple of weeks ago and just learned that my personal home address is listed on OpenCorporates and they scraped that info from the gov site. :( Have to start over.
if I have a ups mailbox can I just use that address for everything?

Hey, thanks for sharing. I don’t know MO specifics. Sounds like a monetized scraper site / that’s unfortunate. It is tough to cover everything in 12min and naturally I would love to go back and edit some of this info to make it even clearer if I could. Think I mentioned “privacy concerns? don’t use your home address on any legal docs at all” - but it’s okay:
You can file an amended biz address form (MO state business site and/or IRS.gov) or just wait til next tax season and use your registered agent for EVERYTHING. Good luck and thanks for commenting to help others!

I will difinitlly recommend your site to all women who plan a start up but intimidated by legal zoom astronomical charge shying away those who do have potential owening their own business. I am an advocate for immigrant community, Immigrants in this country contribute 70 percent of the American economy and the lowest to apply for benefts. Since they feel they cannot compete with job market they save money to start business and pay tax. This will help a lot.
