    I heard a illustration years ago. If you are in a Row boat, and the oar on your left is faith, the one on your right is works. If you paddle with just faith you go in circles, the same if you paddle with just works. You must use both to reach your destiny.

    I agree, miracles happen where the gospel is being preached! This is why we hear about them on the mission field and in the days of old here where the west was being evangelized with the whole gospel.

    Protestants are still operating on the reformers zeal to escape the saved by works of the catholics.
    They must understand that in order to recieve from God, first and foremost salvation, we must put our faith in action through obedience in order to recieve salvation.
    The word " recieve" in the original Greek means " to take hold of".

Thank you for taking time out of your own life to explain things to others. Its on my bucket list to visit your GREAT church one day! God bless and stay safe. Do all speak in tongues? We all have different gifts.

      One is the gift of the Holy Ghost with the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues. On the Day of Pentecost, all 120 spoke in other tongues as the Spirit gave the utterance. The other is the gift of divers kinds of tongues, which is one of the nine gifts of the Spirit.

    Can you elaborate on the context of John 3:5, 3:7 and how Nicodemus could have possibly understood this to mean baptism?
    He was a teacher of the Law, the Tanak, what should he have understood "water and spirit" to mean? If his only source was the old testament, how could he ever understand this concept that Jesus full-well expected him to understand?
    What symbolized "water" in the Old Testament, and what "symbolized" spirit in the Old Testament?

    • @morenamakae6588

      Nicodemus was in actual fact asking that how can he be like Jesus because he saw the miracles He performed,so Jesus was like,you can not operate in this realm,you can't see or enter this Kingdom of power and the miraculous unless you are born again,of the water and the Spirit,Jesus was born of the water by being baptized,he was also born of the Spirit,after baptisim he prayed and the heavens opened,the Spirit descended on him in the form of a dove and lightening.
      So Jesus was simply saying,to be like and operate like me,you must go through what I have gone through,born of the water and the Spirit

    • @robertnieten7259

      What Nicodemus should have known is that water and blood were used to cleanse the temple in preparation for the Spirit of God to occupy it.
      Spiritual rebirth consists of water and blood to cleanse the " temple" of our bodies and then the spiritual rebirth is when the Spirit of God occupys it.
      Spiritual rebirth is a process just as physical birth is. That process consists of water, blood, and the Spirit. The rest of John ch.3 is Jesus telling him that His blood would cleanse the temple of our bodies.
      As 1John 5:7 speaks of the new birth, " This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood.And it is the Spirit that beareth witness."
      The Spirit bears witnesses that the new birth has occured by enabling us to speak in the spiritual language that our English translation calls " tongues".

    I beieve that the reason that miracles don't seem to be happening among a majority of believers is because a vast majority of them have never recieved the Holy Spirit. A vast majority of them are catholics and protestants.
    They have been falsely told that they have recieved the Holy Spirit.
    The only evidence in scripture that believers have recieved the Holy Spirit when they believed is speaking in " tongues".( Acts ch.2,10,and ch.19).
    Speaking in " tongues" is actually one spiritual language that is not only the initial evidence, but a private prayer language that every believer that has recieved the Holy Spirit can pray in.

    1 Corinthians 10:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
    2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
    3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
    4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

    JAMES 2:21-24 - Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up Isaac his son on the altar? 22 You see that faith was working with his works, and as a result of the works, faith was perfected; 23 and the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “And Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness,” and he was called the friend of God. 24 You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone.
    James and Paul present different views on why Abraham was considered righteous and justified. James suggests that Abraham's actions made him "righteous," while Paul claims that faith in God justified him. Despite their differences, their views complement each other. We must not mix or blend their statements to arrive at the truth. It is important to understand that we are not justified by our actions in any way. Genuine faith results in good deeds, but those deeds do not justify us. Our faith is what brings us salvation, and our active obedience is a demonstration of our genuine faith. So, let us hold onto our faith, demonstrate it through our actions, and always remember that our salvation comes from faith in God, not from our actions.

    Believing is the first step. James 2:19 NKJV
    [19] You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe-and tremble!
    Then you must follow up with putting that belief and Faith into action. Salvation is like ingredients in a recipe. You must include all. Repent, baptism in Jesus name. Baptism in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. Live it in Holiness.

    JAMES 2:18 But someone may well say, “You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.”
    James 2:18 poses a question that many of us have pondered: "You have faith, and I have works; show me your faith without works, and I will show you my faith by my works." The answer is clear: faith and works are not contradictory, but rather, they are complementary elements of our Christian walk. Abraham was justified by his faith in God, but he was also "considered righteous" because of his actions (Romans 4:1-5). When we have true faith, we will produce good works, which will demonstrate the authenticity of our faith. Therefore, we should not consider works as a means of justification, but rather a natural outflow of our faith. Let's strive to have genuine faith that is demonstrated through our actions, and let's not forget that we are saved by faith alone and not by our works.

  • @joshpeterson2451

    The question in James 2:14 is not, "Can faith save him?" The question is, "Can *THAT* faith save him?" The KJV is such a crappy translation sometimes. The word is articular in Greek, and contextually, it's referring to the faith of someone who only professes faith but doesn't do good works. Can a merely spoken faith save? No. However, a faith that ends up producing good works does save. We are justified by faith alone, but faith never remains alone. That's what Paul taught. That's what James taught. And this Apostolic heretic is trying to add getting wet as the mode of justification. It's not. You're justified the moment you believe, and one of the primary ways you demonstrate that you have truly believed is by being baptized, but being baptized doesn't justify you. 1 Peter 2:21 says washing dirty off your body does nothing for you spiritually. Rather, only faith in Jesus' death and resurrection and an appeal to God to forgive you can justify you.

      Ahh…my little murderous Calvinist friend. We meet again. You are a bit like a cancer that keeps popping up.
      Let’s easily dispel your Calvinist rhetoric shall we?
      “You're justified the moment you believe, and one of the primary ways you demonstrate that you have truly believed is by being baptized,…”
      So by YOUR logic, Simon the Sorcerer in Acts was justified the moment he believed, and this justification was subsequently proven by his being baptized. “Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized,” Acts 8:13.
      However, we see Peter say this “Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee. For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.” Acts 8:22-23.
      By your flawed Calvinist heresy, Simon believes (and is justified “the moment” he believes) and then is baptized to demonstrate his faith. By your logic Simon is saved and his baptism is just a confirmation of that. Peter rightly discerns that though he has believed and has been baptized, he is not saved. Just like the entire city of Samaria was not saved though they had believed and had been baptized. It was not until they had received the Holy Ghost and Simon saw this that he we see the sorcerer was in the bond of iniquity and had no part or lot in the matter. Just like you.
      See how that works? Rev. Urshan takes great pains to parse this out for you and you insult him and then spout this garbage.
      Let me fix it for you again.
      James 2:21-23
      Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
      Faith and works work together to become true faith. Faith alone (which both you and devils possess) are a false faith. Abraham received the promise of justification before Gen 22 and it was fulfilled when he offered Isaac. “And the scripture was fulfilled…”.
      I Peter 3 states that 8 souls were saved by water. It is a pre-figuring of how baptism saves us now. Not washing dirt from our bodies but by an inward spiritual cleansing.
      There all better. You are not qualified to insult. You only know Calvinism. Stick to murdering (with your tongue) and we will continue to propagate the actual gospel.
      BTW Luther fought to exclude James from the Canon of scripture because these verses flew in the face of his precious “grace alone, faith alone” heresy.
      Really, a simple bible study with a competent teacher will save you all this trouble. Instead of gorging on the Reformed trash can you keep eating out of just listen and obey the book of Acts gospel.

      The Pharisees rejected the counsel of God against themselves not being baptized of him. Perhaps they said, we believe. We have Abraham as our father and don’t need to be baptized. Where is faith here? If it is commanded I would rather be on the side of obedience and not disobedience. Luke 7:30. Acts 2:38.

    • @robertnieten7259
      @robertnieten7259 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If faith alone saves us why repent ? Repentance is an act of obedience we must choose to do in order to be saved. Just because we have come to believe the gospel message doesn't mean that God makes us turn to him.
      Some say repentance is a change of mind toward God. If a change of mind toward God doesn't mean turning from a life of disobedience towards God to one of obedience what good is it ?
      Protestants fail to realize that being saved is being born again and just as physical birth is the end result of a process so is spiritual rebirth. Acts 2:38 is that process.
      Salvation is a free gift but even a free gift must be recieved in order to it to be ours. The word " recieve", in the new testaments original Greek means " to take hold of".
      Peter said," God gives the Holy Spirit to those who obey him"( Acts 5:32). Hearing the Word and believing it is what the recieved Word of God does.
      When we hear and recieve into the receptive ground of our heart, the " seed" of the Word, the Word itself reveals to us that it is true.
      " Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God"( Rom.10:17). Now we must make a decision to obey God or remain as we are. Repentance is incomplete without water baptism. Our repentance must be demonstrated by water baptism so that our sins can be remitted.
      Remittance of sins is the Holy Spirit, because of the shed blood of Christ, circumcising our conscience, removing the guilt from past sins, and restoring it to its' original childlike innocence from the consequences of past sin.
      This is the new covenants' antitype of the old covenants' cleansing of the temple with blood and water in order that the Spirit of God can occupy it.
      That " temple" now is our body. This is the " washing of regeneration" of Titus 3:5. Regeneration defined means to return something to its' original state. The original state of our conscience is innocence from wilful sin.
