Underneath a Sullen Moon on this album is worth a listen too. underrated song i feel. the little breakdown in the middle with Ben's low growl into it. ugh so juicy. great reactions bud. Quickly becoming one of my fav reaction channels!
shadow of intent is the absolute best in deathcore when it comes to creating at least one song for everyone. they're also one of those bands who have a habit of showing that heavy can be a beautiful mess. highly recommend checking out Underneath a Sullen Moon, and/or Dirge of the Void. they do Melodic probably the best out of anyone i've heard. The Melancholy album is a concept album about a demonic goddess named the Gravesinger(named track 2), who causes a mass suicide, to which a man tries to escape eternal damnation.
SoI has the best live performance I've ever seen. I've been to a loooot of metal shows, but these guys are so fucking tight live. I know the deep growling heavyness isn't necessarily your jam, but Ben (the vocalist) is legitimately one of it not the best extreme vocalist in metal rn.
Funny that you mention this track sounding like boss fight music, the first two albums are apparently based on the Halo video game series as the lead vocalist (Ben Duerr) is a huge gamer and massive fan of Halo, this album though is their first album not based on the halo series. This is apparently a concept album about a mass suicide and a plot line in which the protagonist tries to escape from the afterlife.
Also I highly regard Melancholy (the track) by Shadow of Intent as my favorite deathcore track of all time as I believe it is truly the pinnacle of deathcore and what I enjoy about it, and I would say the album is probably my favorite deathcore album of all time too, glad you are coming around to shadow of intent, they’re super talented. If you wanted to check something else similar to this (not very much but it will make more sense in a second) the lead guitarist (Chris wiseman) of shadow of intent is also the lead guitarist and songwriter of another band called currents, who is a really great metalcore band I feel like you would enjoy a lot!
@@TheExpressionx Dayum Fantastic Comment! That's so cool that their one album is Halo Inspired! All have to check out Currents Aswell! Thanks for the Support and Checking out the Channel!
@@DaddyGoose_CB the first 2 albums are actually, and I believe the new single The Migrant is about halo or dead space, and no problem dude, love that I found your channel, great content so far, you’re a funny and entertaining dude! Forever Marked is a must check out by Currents for sure!
Here is how you say Melancholy: the first part "Melan" you say like the fruit melon and the second part "choly" you say like the vegetable cauliflower, of course without the "flower". So together, here it is: "melon-cauli". Also, for context, oudenophobia is the fear of the number zero or the fear of nothingness, which also includes the fear of what comes after death. And the last thing, if you decide to return to Shadow of Intent again, I've compiled some of their songs I think that you might like, since they also have clean vocals: the first is "Life of Exile" off of their newest album Elegy, another are from the album Melancholy, to which you've already listened to a bit, those songs being "Dirge of the Void" and "Chthonic Odyssey" and the last song is off of the album Reclaimer, the song is "The Prophet's Beckoning". These songs are also among my favourites from Shadow of Intent, especially "The Prophet's Beckoning" which is my favourite song from Shadow.
FINALLY someone else who recognizes how good Prophet's Beckoning is? I saw it live and it absolutely blew my fucking mind. That part at the end before the explosion, with the soprano choir vocals, and then the explosion... man.
Yoooo Eulerian! Glad I finally got a Reaction out for ya! I'm still in dis believe on how much I actually didn't mind these songs! I love when metal has orchestra type sounds and instruments in it! As always Thanks for the Support!
Man. If you would like to hear a huge influence to these guys that is just as dark but not quite as heavy, you should check out Dimmu Borgir Gateways live at forces of the northern light Hybrid Stigmata: The Apostasy
