I didn't know how Dragon Blast and Aqua Vortex arcana work. I got them for the first time during this attempt. Same with the super sunscreen relic.

Speedruns? On my channel? At first I wanted to do just a normal playthrough, but after a few deaths, I thought about something else. I was aiming for 12:30 - half of the time required for the “Gotta Go Fast” achievement, but the end result was even better. This was also the first time I managed to beat the game. At least 20% of the fighting during this video was random button mashing. It’s hard to think while you try to do everything so fast.
This is a really good rogue-like game. I highly recommend to play it.
Now do it better with no damage :D

Man that final fight was really down to the wire.
Kinda reminded me of the time me and a buddy played it and I only one because I got an evade right on the last hit, otherwise it would've been game over

So, Sir Gellot can either be as untouchable as air, or as fast as lightning, but not both. Fair enough: Most of us can't manage either one.

I like the fact you did it this quick without chaos magic, most speed runners require chaos magic to make this fast or slightly faster.

@@AllantheBob He has the Hope outfit with the extra health which requires you to win against Sura at least once so I think he does have chaos arcana
Keep in mind this video was from 5 years ago when you watched it the game could have been slightly different from now

If only WoL2 was exactly this game, but with a story attached to it.. kinda like a hybrid between Hades and A:tlA, with all of the spells in the first game and perhaps with some more

This vid really helped me out. I did not see at first the absolute broken potential of that fire power, and I went from banging my head against stage 2 to almost beating the game with a random crit build using that and the ice daggers. Pairs very well with dark katana and the vampire's eyeglasses.

It's tough, but this dude is blowing through it cuz he is using the right combos and moving when he needs to. Plus he is going straight to the boss fights, in stead of wasting health on mob fights. Honestly not a bad strat

Let me just tell you, the game is good. But it isn’t good enough to justify the price.
The games running very short on content and I’d say it’s about 10-15 hours worth of gameplay, that doesn’t live up to the $20 price. Wait for a sale, or wait for the possibility of new content. Don’t get your hopes up though, I doubt they will be adding much.
Honestly it’s a shame, compare the completed game to the Kickstarter trailer and it’s quite sad. More map and artifact variation prior to what it is now.
It’s a short game, and it claims to be a rogue like but it won’t feel any different on a new run because the maps are nearly identical. Limited enemy types, and predictable easy boss fights.
The combat is where the game shines though, the combos with the arcana work really well and there’s variety with combat since your always switching out arcana and using different ones.
it's $16 on steam, but i'll still wait for a sale.
May I recommend Monolith instead. It's a wonderful rouge-like at only $8.

@Santy, I thought the same thing at first but once you progress enough through the trials, itll be way easier when ever you start from the beginning, without you even realizing that. It really helps your reflexes haha. My friend noticed how gross I got and called me out on it 😂

this makes the game look hella fun instead of just doing every mob room one by one, don't know why i never tried that. to be fair i've only ever played 3 runs lmao. i saw the pvp combat and it looked sick but got a little disappointed by the roguelike aspect (imo roguelikes are just an excuse for bloat), but you can actually speedrun this if you're good enough, so gonna try this playstyle from now on

Yeah I still think Zeal has to quick of a recovery time. Its different from the other councils members which makes her more unique, but doesnt mean it's still not annoying lol.

Is there any inherent advantage to starting in the Chilling Dungeon as opposed to the other 2? I find it interesting that the game even offers you this option, implying it's a buff to your run through. I'm assuming either Freya is the hardest boss on 3rd level or her dungeon is the easiest to exploit as the first?
Since the basic attack was water i guess it's better to start with the one you can hurt the least.

The gameplay is very fluid, the dungeons are awesome and they are adding a new area very soon for free.
Still, in its current state its still enjoyable as fuck and very much worth the price

I mean, it was a great run but it was not 9 minutes and 55 seconds. It was probably around the 10 min and 20 seconds region
I feel like this gamewould be way better as a 1v1 multiplayer ladder game than a rogue like
Typhus FSA Nah, people would find Arcana combos that are straight up better than others and everyone would be fighting using the same spells
it's all about balancing then, but seeing how the fight system works, the dynamics of the fights etc.. It could be a very skilled 1v1 game in my opinion

First I was displeased by the fact, that Gellot tanked a lot of hits. Then I looked closer, and realised, that the mobs and bosses deal 0 to no damage.
So technically, this counts is a no damage run.
In a year from now it will be something like 5 for 4 minutes.
the game is awesome yet..if you trully don tloose, is really really short and lacks the replayability of something like the binding of isaac sadly (or even enter the gungeon, by a little margin)
The difficulty makes the game long enough. Its how old games were made. They couldnt make lenghty games, so they compensated with difficulty and trial and error mechanics. Its how its supposed to be. Analysing the way you did doesnt make sense for this type of game.
"if you trully dont loose". Who in the world will never loose in the first attempt in a game like this? Its engineered to not be beatable in the first run. You need to know the enemies and the bosses and learn their moveset to plan a good build for your playstyle and react accordingly to beat them all like in the video. You dont really think the guy in the video beat all the enemies like that by pure reaction and instinct, do you?
