These piers don't have any angular support nor are they made in a tapered shape and this fault might compromise the potential strength in the long run and structural failures like buckling in places of high seismic zones. I fear this project might be another Melamchi, another sorrow for Nepal. Hopefully, the engineers are still working hard and analyzing the pros and cons of these structures.

the exact thought came to my mind..but might be wrong as there are engineers with experience and knowledge working in the project..
